Course description:

Course description:
The MS Botany program is part of the post-baccalaureate degree offerings of the Institute of Biological Sciences administered by the UPLB Graduate School. Its main goals are to develop the ability of the students to undertake critical inquiry and independent research in the plant sciences, to widen their field of knowledge, as well as to develop their professional leadership. Its first graduate can be traced in 1972 when this program was then offered by the Department of Botany of the College of Sciences and Humanities. With the renaming of the College of Sciences and Humanities to the College of Arts and Sciences in 1977, this program continued to grow and flourish at the Institute of Biological Sciences formally established in 1983. The program at present has a current teaching staff of 11 graduate faculty members (9 doctoral and 2 master degree holders) who are experts in various fields of botany.
