A. A graduate of one of the following:
1. M.S. Degree in the Biological Sciences or related fields from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 24 units of graduate courses with a thesis requirement (proof of thesis required), or
2. MS degree in other fields not covered in I.A.1from a recognized institution of higher learning with research track record, or
3. M.D. Or D.V.M. From a recognized institution of higher learning with research track record.
B. Acceptance by a faculty member of the Institute of Biology as a prospective dissertation advisee. The acceptance will be based on a submitted research proposal that have been consulted with and approved by the faculty who will act as the prospective Dissertation Adviser.
C. GWA of 1.75 or better in the M.S., M.D., or D.V.M. Program.
D. At least one article, published within the last five (5) years, in a highly reputable journal (e.g., Scopus- or Thomson Reuters indexed) in which the applicant is the primary author.
E. Passing an English Proficiency Test as per University Policy for foreign applicants whose medium of instruction in the previous degree programs is not English. Note: Prescribed tests are TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) and IELTS (International English Language Testing System).
F. Passing a placement examination to be administered by the Graduate Committee of the Institute of Biology. The placement examination is as follows:
1. For those who meet the requirements of I.A.1., oral presentation and acceptance of a research proposal to be evaluated by at least one member from each of the following areas: Cell Biology, Ecology and Taxonomy, Developmental Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, and Physiology.
2. For those who meet the requirements of I.A.2. And I.A.3., the placement examination will be in two parts: 2.1. The comprehensive essay-type written examination will be based on the specialization that the student intends to take.• • 2.2. An oral presentation and acceptance of the research proposal submitted by the applicant. • Those who are already enrolled in the regular Ph.D. Biology (Option 1) program may shift to Option 3 provided they satisfy all admission requirements. • • If an applicant fails, he/she may re-apply.

The program leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Physics aims to provide the students with an advanced graduate training in physics that will fully prepare them for scientific careers as top level physicists in academic and/or research institutions. The Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics is a graduate program which provides students with advanced background in statistics to enable them to participate in the development of statistical methods. Emphasis is placed on training in research. The doctoral program is designed to ensure the solid foundation and grounding in the field of anthropology. The student begins to focus on their specific areas of research and specialization upon completion of the core courses. 1. The applicant must be a holder of at least a baccalaureate degree or it's equivalent from U.P. Or any other recognized institution of higher learning.

Course description:
The Ph.D. In Creative Writing is a 48-unit program which provides students with the space and guidance to pursue their creative work and make a scholarly contribution to the field of creative writing in the Philippines. Students take workshop courses as well as courses relevant to their complementary field, which may be Anglo-American Literature, Comparative Literature, or English Language. The Ph.D. Dissertation is a publishable book-length creative work accompanied by a scholarly essay on the art and craft of writing.
Admission requirements:
• Possession of a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree or equivalent degree or title (s) from the University or from other recognized institutions of higher learning;
• All Ph.D. Students must pass a written qualifying examination to be taken after nine (9) units of the core Ph.D. Courses;
• A dissertation proposal shall be a requirement for Ph.D. Students and shall be defended after completion of the program of study, the passing of language examination (s), the comprehensive examination, and courses stipulated by the Maximum Residence Rule, where applicable;
• A GWA of 1.75 or better;
• High quality and integrity of intellect;

To qualify for admission to the philosophy Ph.D graduate program, the applicant must hold a Masters degree in Philosophy or a related field such as Theology, Sociology, Political Science, Mathematics, and others. Submit a letter of application, addressed to the Admissions Committee, indicating why you wish to pursue a doctorate in Philosophy, and defining your area (s) of interest in philosophy or, better, a specific problem that could become the subject of a doctoral dissertation.
Requirements

2. A sample of your written work in philosophy, which may consist in a term paper written for a graduate course in Philosophy, or a published article on a philosophical topic

No students shall be admitted to the program leading to Juris Doctor degree unless he/she has satisfactorily completed in an authorized university or college a bachelor’s degree in arts or science with any of the following subjects as major or field of concentration:
• Political Science • Philosophy • English • Economics • History
A bachelor’s degree holder in a field other than those mentioned above must have earned the following minimum number of units: • English - 12 units • History and/or Economics plus - 9 units • Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology plus - 9 units • A Course on Rizal - 3 units
An applicant shall be required to take the Law Aptitude Examination (LAE). The UP LAE is usually administered in the third week of November in five (5) testing centers (UP Diliman, UP Baguio, UP Visayas (Iloilo), UP Cebu, and UP Mindanao). Application forms are available on the second week of August.
Holders of graduate degrees are not exempted from taking the test.
No student shall be admitted to the College unless the Committee on Student Admissions recommends his/her admission. The College has a “no deferment” policy. Those admitted to the College but do not enroll or enroll in the first semester but drop all courses will have to re-take the LAE.
Only those who are employed full-time shall be permitted to enroll in the evening classes.
Transfer Students
Courses taken in institutions of higher learning other than the University of the Philippines cannot be credited towards the completion of the subject requirements in any of the degree programs offered by the UP College of Law.
