This is a four-year degree program in Social Work purposely offered to students who are seeking to have a career as a Social Worker. In which, such responsibility involves a direct service and communication with individuals, families, and in communities. In this program, four curricular areas are going to be tackled namely; Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Social Welfare Policies Programs and Services, Social Work Practice, and Field Instruction. Course description:
A graduate degree program that intends to respond to the continuing education needs of experienced social work practitioners, particularly in relation to their direct practice and supervisory functions. Enrollees on a full-time basis can complete the program in one year. As a ladder type program, the Diploma units may be pursued and credited to the completion of a Masteral degree.

A graduate degree program that prepares students for leadership positions with a concentration of their choice, namely: Social Administration, Community Organization, and Clinical Social Work. It offers two options: Plan A: 36 units with thesis Plan B: 39 units with comprehensive examination

Admission Requirements - Freshmen:
Graduates of foreign and Philippine high schools accredited by the Department of Education (DepEd) may be admitted as freshmen into the University based on the following:
1. Performance in the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT); and
2. Weighted average of final grades obtained in high school.
A total combined score of 1,200 for the verbal and mathematics subtests in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) will also qualify an applicant for automatic admission as freshman to the University.

Admission Requirements - Transferees:
1. A certified true copy of grades (TCG) and 3 photocopies, from each college attended for evaluation, regardless of his intentions to validate his advance credits (classcards are not accepted). The TCG should be signed by the Registrar or his/her authorized representative;
Do not apply for an honorable dismissal unless you have been accepted into a program.
2. An accomplished application form (UP Form 3) which may be obtained from the Admission and Registration Section, Office of the University Registrar (OUR) upon presentation of the TCG. You are allowed to apply in not more than three (3) programs.
3. Two passport-sized photographs; and
4. A non-refundable fee of Php. 100.00 for Filipinos (Php.150.00 for resident foreign applicants or US$20 for non-resident foreign applicants).
All qualified applicants whose applications have been processed by the OUR and evaluated by the concerned units must submit the following before they are finally accepted and issued the University Admission Slip:
1. An official copy of their transcript of records
2. Certificate of Honorable Dismissal
3. Medical Certificate from UP Health Service
Admission Requirements - Foreign Students:
1. Must take and pass the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) exam. Which is usually given every lst Saturday and lst Sunday of August of each year or
2. Maybe admitted through automatic admission in any program with available slots if he/she has taken any of the following international qualifying exams such as:
• Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)- with a total minimum score of 1200 in Math and Critical Reading only.
• General Certificate of Education (GCE)- passes three (3) Ordinary Levels & two (2) Advance Levels
• International Baccalaureate Diploma
FOR AUTOMATIC ADMISSION – SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING :
1. Foreign Application Form (Form 3)- Go to OUR website- our.upd.edu.ph Then click “SERVICES” & click “DOWNLOADABLE FORMS”
2. Application fee of $20 (subject to change)

B. FOR FOREIGN TRANSFER STUDENTS (Those coming from other Universities) REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:
1. Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.00 or higher
2. Must have earned at least 33 academic units or more.
3. Must submit ALL grades in all subjects taken from previous schools/universities
4. Must not be currently enrolled upon application to UP Diliman
5. Must meet the required GWA for the degree program he/she is applying for.
6. Must submit his /her transcript of record (s) for evaluation purposes.
7. Must fill out an application form
8. Must pay the application fee of $20 (subject to change)
9. Must submit two (2) passport size photos
10. If with gap, please submit an affidavit of no enrollment during the semester/year that you did not enroll.

B. Doctoral Degree Program
For admission to a doctoral program, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum requirements for admission:
1. Possession of a bachelor’s degree, in the case of a direct doctoral program, or a master’s degree or it's equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning;
2. Intellectual capacity & aptitude for advanced studies & research;
3. Language proficiency; and
4. A health certificate and other additional and special admission requirements that may be imposed by the University and the head of the College/unit or Graduate Office/Committee concerned, through channels.
In order that application for admission may be processed, the following documents should be submitted directly to the respective college offering the intended program.
1. Oficial transcript of academic record of undergraduate work (and graduate work, if any) – one original and two photocopies;
For evaluation purposes, photocopies of records may be accepted provided they are properly authenticated (in the case of foreign applicants, by the Department of Education or by duly designated authorities in the country of the applicant). Final admission will be subject to verification of documents submitted against the original copies of credentials. Certified English translations should also be submitted, where necessary.
Applications accompanied by photocopies of academic records not properly authenticated will not be processed.
2. Two written recommendations from former professors or experts in the field;
3. Duly accomplished application for admission form, including two (2) passport-size photographs;
4. Marriage contract (for married women applicants);
5. Certification of English/Filipino language proficiency;
6. A non-refundable application fee (minimum of P100.00 for Filipino citizens, P200.00 for resident aliens, and US$25.00 for non-resident aliens, depending on the college).
Credentials filed in support of the application become the property of the University of the Philippines and will not be returned to the applicant.

This school is included under the "Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education" law that passed in 2017.
The law covers students enrolled in State and Local universities/colleges in Bachelors and Certificate programs.
Under the Law students in accredited State and Local universities/colleges will not pay any tuition fees or misc fee.
The Law covers only first time students (students who don't already have a college degree).
However, the full implementation of this law is not clear yet.
