Admission requirements:
A. New Incoming Freshmen
1. A new incoming freshman must qualify for admission into U.P. Diliman thru the U.P. College Admission Test (UPCAT) and must make it to the B.S. Mathematics cut-off in Math. 2. Admission into the program, in any case, shall be dependent on the availability of slots in the program and the current resources of the department.
B. Undergraduate Transfer Student
1. All applicants for transfer to the B.S. Mathematics program shall be accepted and processed only for the first semester of each academic year through the Office of the College Secretary, College of Science.
2. An applicant for transfer should submit the following to the Office of the College Secretary, College of Science not later than one month before the first regular registration day of the first semester or within a prescribed application period. - For Transfer from Within the U.P. System • an accomplished form of Application for Transfer to the College of Science; • a true copy of grades of all subjects enrolled in; • an office referral from his/her College/Unit - For Transfer from Outside the U.P. System • an official copy of grades or transcript of records; • a referral from the U.P. Registrar
3. The Department of Mathematics shall consider only the applications of students who have satisfied applicable University and College Rules on admission of transfer students.
4. Admission into the B.S. Mathematics Program is further subject to the following rules. - A U.P. Student from other programs or a transfer student from other institutions who has finished at least Math 63 or equivalent may be admitted to the program, provided that
• he/she has not incurred a grade of 5.0 in any Math subject and that • he/she has a weighted average of at least 2.0 in all his Math subjects.
Scholarships:
Honorific Scholarships from the University Any undergraduate student who obtains at the end of the semester a weighted average of 1.45 or better is considered a University Scholar. While any undergraduate who, not being classed as University Scholar, obtains at the end of the semester a weighted average of 1.75 or better is considered a College Scholar. In addition to the general weighted average prescribed, a student must have taken during the semester at least 15 units of academic credit or the normal load prescribed; must be up-to-date with all the non-academic requirements (PE and ROTC); and must have no grade below 3.0 in any academic or non-academic subject.

This is a four-year course in Statistics that is centered on various statistical methods including it's underlying theories and it's necessary applications. Students in this program will be able to manage and process data entries with the use of softwares which should make the communication with the end-users more convenient and accurate. In addition, it basically prepares it's graduates to be competent and skillful in the field and will have the edge to work as statisticians in the government, industries, and in research institutions. 1. An applicant from another unit of the University of the Philippines may be admitted to the School of Statistics provided he has obtained a weighted average grade of 2.50 or better for all the statistics and mathematics subjects he has taken in the University, and provided further that the quota set by the Dean has not been filled up.
2. An applicant from another university may be admitted provided he has obtained a general weighted average grade of 2.0, 86%, B or better and a weighted average grade of 1.75 for all the statistics and mathematics subjects he has taken outside U.P. In addition to satisfying the university's requirements governing transfer students, and provided further that the quota set by the Dean has not been filled up.

Admission Requirements - Freshmen:
Graduates of foreign and Philippine high schools accredited by the Department of Education (DepEd) may be admitted as freshmen into the University based on the following:
1. Performance in the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT); and
2. Weighted average of final grades obtained in high school.
A total combined score of 1,200 for the verbal and mathematics subtests in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) will also qualify an applicant for automatic admission as freshman to the University.

Admission Requirements - Transferees:
1. A certified true copy of grades (TCG) and 3 photocopies, from each college attended for evaluation, regardless of his intentions to validate his advance credits (classcards are not accepted). The TCG should be signed by the Registrar or his/her authorized representative;
Do not apply for an honorable dismissal unless you have been accepted into a program.
2. An accomplished application form (UP Form 3) which may be obtained from the Admission and Registration Section, Office of the University Registrar (OUR) upon presentation of the TCG. You are allowed to apply in not more than three (3) programs.
3. Two passport-sized photographs; and
4. A non-refundable fee of Php. 100.00 for Filipinos (Php.150.00 for resident foreign applicants or US$20 for non-resident foreign applicants).

This school is included under the "Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education" law that passed in 2017.
The law covers students enrolled in State and Local universities/colleges in Bachelors and Certificate programs.
Under the Law students in accredited State and Local universities/colleges will not pay any tuition fees or misc fee.
The Law covers only first time students (students who don't already have a college degree).
However, the full implementation of this law is not clear yet.
