1. A student must have (a) a cumulative weighted average of 2.50 [1]or better in all grades received in courses in his/her curriculum and (b) a cumulative average of 2.50a or better in economics courses, excluding Econ 11, at either the end of his junior year of the summer term of it; otherwise, he is dismissed from the School.
2. A student must obtain at the end of every semester or summer (a) a cumulative weighted average of 2.50 a or better in all grades received in courses in the curriculum; (b) a cumulative weighted average of 2.50 a or better in economics courses; and (c) must obtain regular grades (i.e., excluding INCs and DRPs) in at least 60% of the units registered as of the last day of registration; otherwise, the student will be placed on probation the following term.

Course description:
The Master of Industrial Relations (MIR) program aims to train qualified students, staff/supervisors, and managerial members of unions, business enterprises, NGOs, government agencies, and educational institutions for a professional career in labor relations and human resource development/management. The graduate program in industrial relations is multi-disciplinary and has integrated various disciplines such as sociology, economics, business administration, psychology, law, political science, public administration and statistics to give studen ts general competence in the field. Students are required to finish basic integrative courses, while developing expertise in any of the four areas of specialization in industrial relations – Labor- Management Relations, Human Resource Development, Comparative Industrial Relations, & Labor Policy and Administration. The Master of Industrial Relations (MIR) degree has two (2) tracks; Plan A : Thesis Option which requires the completion of 27 units, with a 2.0 weighted average and the defense of both thesis proposal and the final thesis report (6 units); Plan B: Comprehensive Examination Option which requires the completion of 39 units, with a 2.0 weighted average and the passing of the MIR end comprehensive examination. After completion of 21 units, with a grade average of 1.75 qualified stude nts are awarded a Diploma in Industrial Relations.

Course description:
The Master of Science in Finance degree Program aims to prepare the student for a career in financial management, specifically to undertake the various financial management functions in managing financial institutions, as well as the functions of the financial manager or the treasurer in non-financial institutions. The Program also intends to prepare the student for responsibilities in regulatory and policy-making functions affecting financial markets and institutions. To prepare the student for a finance career, he/she shall pursue studies that shall provide a solid foundation in finance and a mastery of the relevant literature, theory and application. The Program provides the student with a strong foundation on theory, principles, and concepts of finance. In addition, the student is introduced to analytical tools and perspectives that shall provide a firm basis for financial decision-making. Admission requirements:
1. Applicants to the Ph.D. Program must have completed at least 24 units of course work in the M.A. Economics program with a weighted grade average of 1.5 or better. In addition to previous academic performance, admission will also depend on an evaluation of the student’s ability to undertake the second-year course work of the Ph.D. Program, to pass the comprehensive examination, and to produce an acceptable dissertation.
2. If existing qualifications for doctoral-level study are deemed insufficient, the applicant will be advised to complete all requirements for the M.A. Economics degree before being considered for admission to the Ph.D. Program. In exceptional cases, a highly qualified applicant who has obtained a master’s degree in economics from another institution may be admitted directly to the Ph.D. Program and credited with up to 18 units towards the Ph.D. Degree.
