About USEP: As I remember, my professors were different. Some were brilliant professors that truly want to share some of their valuable knowledge with their students; the ones who love their jobs and consider teaching as a noble profession and devoted to share their knowledge with students. And some of them were not able to impart their knowledge. In order to adapt in their teaching styles and pass the subject, the best thing I did is studying the lesson and them (professors) as well.

My school atmosphere is a comfortable and conducive for learning because we studied in the new building that time. And being an engineering student in government universities the classroom were spacious and not crowded. But I guess making school an enjoyable place to inhabit and learning a fun thing to do should be a goal to which all of us could be dedicated.

Some of my school facilities were obsolete and out-of-date which usually happened especially in some southern government universities. That's why I have to undertake summer short term vocational learning founded by TESDA.

My current job: My current job is helping the company in project planning, coordination and bidding in Electrical (HV,MV,LV) and Instrumentation Works.

How long did it take to find a job: After my graduation, I had to work first in order to pay my board review. After I passed the board examination, after two weeks I got my new job.

About USEP: I’m very proud to be a product of this school and really considered myself an Iskolar ng Bayan. And I just have to say that I have the best professors who really know their craft and their field. I’m even proud to say that one out of 3 Econometricians (doctor of econometrics) in the Philippines is my professor and my adviser during my thesis- Dr. Agustina Tan Cruz.

The school’s atmosphere was definitely something that would make a student strive hardest to achieve, to pass and to learn. You really have to be the best version of yourself everyday to meet the demands of your professors and your subjects. We always joke about it (but there was actually a little or more truth to it) that the midterm exams of some schools were just a whooping quiz to us.

We all know that almost all of the state universities are not that privileged and prioritized when it comes to the latest and complete facilities, and sadly USEP was one of those state universities. However, the determination to give out the best and quality education, the teachers, faculty and students help hand-in-hand to improve what was lacking and what was missing. Moreover, I am happy to say that after 3 years of graduating, I can see remarkable changes in USEP the last time I visited there and that was January 2013. Our college building that was once considered to be the ugliest is now almost finished with its second floor and furnished rooms.


My current job: Virtual Specialist, writer, SEO analyst.
This type of job is convenient for me because I have control of my time and I can even travel to different places and work at the same time.

How long did it take to find a job: Actually I already landed a job 2 months before my graduation.

About USEP: University of Southeastern Philippines is a public university. By this, I can understand the facilities it offers. And, I would not choose to go into details with that. Anyway, the professors are absolutely top-notch and you can say that they're the best of the bests. You can barely see professors that are not passionate with their work. They make sure that before you leave, you'll really have something in your brain. Totally, this what makes me feel comfortable in terms of the atmosphere of the school. I can say that USEP is my sanctuary and my ALMA MATER, for the world!

My current job: Right now, I'm a call center agent doing outbound calls for an Australian account. I'm planning to have this job till I graduate Masteral Education. The reason is, my current job has a very flexible schedule and the salary is reasonable. I'm available during Saturday and Sunday, so, I'll really have the time to study Master education. But, after all this, I'll see to it that I'll become a teacher and continue writing stuffs that will stir the emotions of an individual.

How long did it take to find a job: I actually found a job before I even graduated. My schedule during the last semester has a wide interval which suits me to be a call center agent.

Why did I choose this school: The reason is that I was a scholar in this school. The education is free so I didn't have to worry about my tuition fees.

About USEP: I have been told that the teachers are graduates not only of courses of agriculture and business, but many have Masters and Doctorate degrees. They taught us well. Our teachers show us the way to plant and fertilize them. They show us how apply pesticides in the rice and corn fields.

There is a good actual training in the field trips and visits to farmlands. We begin to see the situation in the poor farmlands and the lives of the farmers.

The school rooms are not air-conditioned but the clinic and library are.

My current job: Now, I am a supervisor of retail store selling shoes and apparel. My job is not related to my course.

How long did it take to find a job: In a month after graduation I worked in an office related to marketing.

Why did I choose this school: Because I like the way the teachers teach their students. They have a unique style of teaching and the lessons are very productive and the activities makes your mind work which is pretty smart enough for us.

About USEP: The atmosphere – It was great and we can learn lots of things here.
The professors – Some were skilled some are not.


My current job: I’m an AutoCad operator and I do sketches using AutoCad. AutoCad is a program for designers or artist with a broad field. But for me I do designs of buildings and roadways.

How long did it take to find a job: One Month after graduation. I did not take the licensure exam anymore because I got a job immediately after graduation.

About USEP: The University of Southeastern Philippines of Davao City is known to be on the list of top Universities of the Philippines though it is a public institution. The USeP is basically lack of facilities, like a fully furnished laboratories or a well conditioned classrooms but there is no doubt that the professors are greatly excellent on their field of study and as well as in imparting everything to their students.
The lack of facilities somehow contribute to the strong foundation of each student for they will be force in making way to produce what is needed but it is not about getting onto goals but it's all about the journey of learning to achieve the goals; this makes the University of Southeastern Philippines awesome.

My current job: I am currently unemployed but the family runs a business which I am active at this point.
There were numerous amount of offers after graduation but none of them offers a job that I know I will be enjoying at.

Why did I choose this school: I chose the University of South Eastern Philippines because our local government offers scholarships for poor but outstanding students in this school. Even it is a public college it was rated top 15 in the overall Philippine university rankings.

About USEP: About the school, this is a state university but the facilities are really not that good compared to the private schools. The chairs we used were those kind of chairs that are used at grade school. There is no library and no other study areas. Other facilities such as computer lab and most equipments were non-functional. There were no proper working tools and equipments and no air-conditioned classrooms. But all I can say is that teachers even if they make it hard for students to learn, are very smart and respectable in their own way.

My current job: I am now working in a small mining company in Compostela Valley. I do the examination and the determination of the types of rocks and if there is gold content in the samples. I work in the mining area.

How long did it take to find a job: A year after graduation, I found work in this present company as one of the researchers.

Why did I choose this school: I got a scholarship from our 1st district congressman. This is a state university and the cost of education is cheap. Good for my empty pocket.

About USEP: As a state university, the qualification for teachers is high. One has to have a masters degree in order to teach in this school. The professors need to have experience in government or private companies.

The school campus is huge but the population of students is also big. There is a gym, clinic, social function rooms, but only the library is air-conditioned as well as the faculty rooms including the graduate school rooms.

My current job: I am now working in a law office doing inputting, designing of logo and letter heads and acting as record keeper and secretary.

How long did it take to find a job: After a month

About USEP: Our professors were great and inculcated to us the correct knowledge with a very conducive atmosphere and state of the art facilities provided by the university.

My current job: I'm currently teaching kids and at the same time English Program Coordinator of a government school in Thailand with a total population of more than four thousand students, two hundred Thai teachers and almost thirty foreign teachers from different countries around the world.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me two months to land a job after graduation but not in relation to Agriculture. I was tasked to do some office works in Manila.

Why did I choose this school: Our School is an excellent school because they assure that students who graduate can find a a career fit to their courses. I chose USEP because it's a state university therefore the tuition fees and miscellaneous are much affordable compared to other school. I chose USEP because they ensure the students will become globally competitive and morally upright and lastly I chose USEP because the school itself is good and secure.

About USEP: Frankly saying our school is not that hi-tech compared to other schools. Some of the comfort rooms are not well-maintained since our school don't have enough personnel to maintain them. The facilities, like computers, are old models it needs improvement.

Well, some of the instructors like in our college are so good they teach lessons which can help us but there are some lazy instructors who don't care about us students and just give incomplete grades without a fair basis.

The rooms are not air-conditioned so whenever we have class in afternoon, it's so hot like hell. The main problem with our school is that when it rains heavily the water will go inside our school which will result to mini-flood and the students struggle to go home.

My current job: Right now I'm still searching for a job.

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school because I live in Davao City and it is also the only university in Mindanao which offers the BS in Geology program. I also chose to study here because it is a state university and the tuition fee is cheaper than those schools in Manila. It is also recommended by our teachers in High School because USEP is one of the top performing schools in the Philippines.

About USEP: The students are competitive because most of the students studying in USEP are scholars. One of the cons of the school is the lack of facilities for our program but the professors are wise and creative enough to improvise and make students learn and experience what our actual job will be in the field. They conduct fieldworks for the students to enhance our learning and to gain experience and they let us make a technical report about that fieldwork afterwards.

My current job: I am currently working in a government institution in Metro Manila right now as a Science Research Specialist. We are currently working under a special project under DOST.

How long did it take to find a job: You should take first a board exam in geology before you can land a stable job in this profession. I was employed 3 or 4 months after passing the licensure exam.

About USEP: Our school is the first and only school in the Mindanao that offers BS Geology. Hence, there are only limited books and facilities available at our school. The school atmosphere is just suitable for learning.

My current job: Junior Geologist at a Mining Company

How long did it take to find a job: It took me less than a month to find a job.

About USEP: The school was located near the city. It is a big school, and is run by an administrator. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was fantastic because it was surrounded by many trees and plants. The facilities of the school were okay. Although, there are many students studying there, they see to it that the students are well trained by the facilities provided by school.

My current job: My current job is data entry and web researcher (online jobs).

How long did it take to find a job: Well, I was one of the lucky students, because after graduation I have found job in one of the prestigious school here in Davao City. I work as a data encoder and office clerk.

About USEP: My professors are approachable, and friendly.
The atmosphere of my school was good. More environmental- there are trees to unwind.
The facilities are quite good though it is not that complete but it helps professors helps.

My current job: My current job is Online freelancer. I do Research and Data entry and also Tutoring.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me about 4 months.

Why did I choose this school: Even if this school is government-owned, it has a good educational standard. The cost of education is cheap. Most of us who cannot afford the tuition in private colleges enroll in this school.

About USEP: The campus is very spacious with a big gym and buildings but there is no library. The teachers have masters and doctorate in their own fields. This makes the quality of education better. There were a lot of readings and submission of written projects. It helped me become more proficient in English. It was the only good thing about this school.

My current job: I am now working In a call center in Davao City. It is difficult to find work as a teacher nowadays.

How long did it take to find a job: Immediately after graduation I applied and was hired as a tutor in English by a family to teach their son in elementary.

Why did I choose this school: Because of it's academic high standards, strict training w/best professors. And one of the 15 Philippine universities that made it to the 2011 list of top Asian universities.

About USEP: The atmosphere - a pleasant place and a motivating place to learn.

The professors - Terror professors and very strict yet very professional w/high standards training and teachings and a very inspiring professors as well.

The facilities - good range of computer facilities and range of study support facilities for their students.
