About TUP Manila: TUP-Manila is a state university, thus, I really don't expect it to be as well provided as other private schools. The location is pretty big and spacious. The library is has a wide range of books to choose from, It also has wi-fi and desktop computers with internet connection. There are benches around the campus to rest, study and socialize. Computers found in computer rooms were a bit slow but manageable. Rooms are not air-conditioned. Toilets are unsanitary but janitors do their visit it once in a while.

On the other hand, the teaching is good. Professors are supportive and considerate once they see the student are working hard to pass.

My current job: I am currently employed as a Credit and Collection Associate. I am in charge in facilitating the Software used in our Accounting Department.

How long did it take to find a job: Right after graduation.

Why did I choose this school: T.U.P. is a state university, not just a state university but one who excels in board exams and has affordable tuition fees. This is the university of my first choice and there are positive feedback of previous graduates about the excellence of this school.

About TUP Manila: Most of the professors work hard and has good strategies in teaching. The facilities are considerable given that the university is old. There are equality between the staffs, faculties, and students in terms of sharing opinions and thoughts.

My current job: I am presently working on ships.
I am keeping the machines working.

How long did it take to find a job: 10 months

Why did I choose this school: I chose this University because it is well-known on the field of Mechanical Engineering and other Engineering program. It is the premier state university of the country. The tuition fee is very affordable but the good quality education is still there. Also, they rank among the top 10 on Board Exams.

About TUP Manila: The atmosphere at the university itself is boring. No place for you to study. It's like everything was occupied.

There are different types of professors in the university. Some are those who treat their students as friends. There are some who just guess some student's grade. And there are some professors that you can't look straight in the eye.

The facilities, as expected, are not so great since it was a State University. But even though some rooms are old enough, it's still usable.

My current job: I'm a Mechanical Engineer at a cruise ship.
I am in charge on the overall maintenance of the ship's machine.

How long did it take to find a job: 3 months.

About TUP Manila: My school is a state university and the tuition fee is cheap, almost php300-php500 only for every semester. So I was able to help my parents financially comparing the tuition fee for other school amounts to php30,000 to php50,000 at that time.

Although there are equipment and materials that are lacking, I was still able to learn and improve my skills as a student. Professors have their own different ways in order to let students learn the best way possible. Always challenging us to study hard, conduct self study, and join in study groups in order to pass their subjects.

Some classrooms are not conducive to learning, but we make the best out of it.


My current job: I am currently a Systems Analyst, Team Lead for Java EE development on one of the leading international IT outsourcing companies here in the Philippines.

How long did it take to find a job: When I graduated March 2003, I reviewed first for the board exam.
When I passed the board exam on November 2003, I was hired by my current company on February 2004.

Why did I choose this school: It had cheaper tuition fee and they have classes at night. I was a working student that time and I did not have time to study in the morning so, night classes are ideal for me.

The University was also easily accessible from my place of work, that is why I chose it.

About TUP Manila: There were good professors that taught their students well and the ambiance for learning was also good. The rooms were not all air-conditioned but I would say that it was okay.

There were enough places inside the university to rest and socialized as well as to study. I liked it since there were trees and benches where we could seat and discuss lessons together with friends.

It is also near to various food stalls and very easy to ride a public transport since it is near the road.

My current job: I am currently a Production Engineering Assistant.
Job includes maintenance of various hardware for the proper operation in the company. We also support the production.

How long did it take to find a job: I was a working student while studying the Bachelor Technology course. So, I already had a job after my graduation.

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school because it is best known as a school for aspiring mechanical engineers being the top 1 in three consecutive years was a mere proof.

About TUP Manila: The ambiance of the school is very inviting because there are trees around the campus.

The professors do teach well and they are capable to give knowledge not only that, also skills that we can use when we are already in the field.

The facilities aren't that good but it is not a hindrance for us, students to learn but a challenge for us to continue our study and gain knowledge in a not so easy way.

My current job: My job now is a designer of a Toyota cars, because I was an expertise in automotive. I was going to improve and design better cars than the cars we have now.

How long did it take to find a job: I easily found a job after graduation; it just took a month after I passed the Board Exam I already find one. Honestly, the job finds me because the Toyota offered a good deal so I take the job.

Why did I choose this school: Technological University of the Philippines is the Premiere Technological School in the Philippines. TUP also has a high passing rate in the Board Exam for Mechanical Engineers. Moreover, TUP offers a cheap yet very quality of teaching and it enhances not only our minds but also our skill by providing us the subject "MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SHOPWORK" during our First and Second Year of stay in this University. Lastly, TUP focuses on the course Engineering that's why it suits students who really want to be an Engineer someday.

About TUP Manila: The atmosphere in this school, at first, is enjoyable. Numerous activities are always promoted every month. This activities develop the skill (Academically and Physically) of the students. In fact, I participated in the College of Engineering Quiz Bee, and from this quiz bee, we learned a lot, not only me but my colleagues as well.

The professors. I'm not looking forward in Professors in every University. But here are some professors who are currently present on TUP. There are professors that are like students which you can befriend of. There are strict professors who makes the best out of you. There are strict professors and you don't know why they are strict, they even don't teach the students well. There are professors who are quiet. Really, you will only meet them once or twice and then at the end of the semester they will give you 1.25 grade. There are professors who are always present but doesn't teach anything, they only tell stories about there life. (At least, in here, students learn lessons that can be used in their daily life) And of course, there are professors who are very compassionate in teaching and acts as a professional one and gives considerations or we might say that they are the "Almost-Perfect Professor." They make the best out of you not because they are strict but because you can see on them the passion on how they teach. You will receive a high grade not because they guess the grade but because they taught you the lessons very well and you remember it during the exam. They are the professors that give considerations because they know how it hard to be a student studying in a State University.

The Facilities. I really don't care about the facilities. TUP is surrounded by Malls and other branches of things. We barely use the Comfort rooms. But if we're talking about our Laboratories and buildings. Here's the thing. I admit that we don't have the best facilities since we're governed only by the government. On the other hand, what's important is that the students and the professors are great. If the student doesn't like to study, having the best professor won't affect that much. And Vice-versa.

How long did it take to find a job: Of course, I need to take the board exam first. Then after passing the board exam, I received some e-mails and calls.

Why did I choose this school: Because it was one of the universities that is recommended by the agency (DOST) that I got my scholarship from, and it's where I took my review for college entrance test sponsored by my scholarship.

About TUP Manila: It was okay, the buildings were quite old but, I can never complain since it was one of the oldest university in the country. And It was amazing that some of them are still usable. Studying there was quite liberating since we were in the heart of university belt and it's a nice feeling to know that your surrounded by other universities. It is very typical for you to see other college student from other universities when you are outside the campus, specially when you are going to rent in one of the boarding house just beside the school, you'll have the opportunity to be friends with them. Which is what I have experience. With regards to the professors I must say that they were all qualified and good if not the best teacher there is in our country.

My current job: I'm an Internal Quality Auditor for a Manpower Agency, I conduct quality audits to check if employees are following Standard Operating Procedure, and Review those SOP's from time to time to ensure that it is aligned with ISO 9001:2008 Standards whenever applicable.

How long did it take to find a job: 1 to 2 weeks after I graduated.

Why did I choose this school: The tuition fee was affordable as well as the other miscellaneous fees. I also knew some who are graduates from this school and they gave a good feedback about it.

About TUP Manila: The ambiance was just fine and I enjoy studying under the trees in the quadrangle. It is also near on various establishments and other universities.

The instructors were helpful and some are very approachable. There were even instructors who were very friendly and we could seek advice from them.

My current job: I am now working in a BPO/Business Process Outsourcing company as a call center agent. I receive calls and quires from the various clients.

How long did it take to find a job: Just after several months.

Why did I choose this school: TUP has affordable tuition fee as well as miscellaneous fees especially that time. Compared to other Universities, the fees are minimal since it is a state University. I also liked the location since it is near to a National Park and there are lots of other Universities and schools around. It is included in the University belt and it is very accessible from our place.

About TUP Manila: The atmosphere was just right for learning. I enjoyed studying inside the campus since there are places where there are trees and benches. The library was also a good place to study and stay since it is well ventilated.

Most of our professors were good on their subjects and they are friendly. We could ask help if ever we need classifications on some subjects.

My current job: I am a web researcher and an online writer for several years already. It may not be related to my course but I am enjoying it. The advantage is, I could easily write articles about Electronics because I graduated with this course.

How long did it take to find a job: After the graduation, it took me less than a year to find my first job. It was a job in a Electronics company.

Why did I choose this school: There are lots of electronics company with good impressions on it since this University is known for it's technical courses.

About TUP Manila: It has a good atmosphere for studying technical courses and the professors were supportive. They also trained us very well especially for the practical skills. The university was not that equipped in our time but maybe now, there are lots of changes already after all these years.

My current job: Test Board Inspector

How long did it take to find a job: Immediately. I was absorbed by the company where I had my on the job training.

Why did I choose this school: This school offers technical courses and there were also scholars like me there. The tuition fee was also not high since it's a public university.

About TUP Manila: The atmosphere was just fine for learning and it is surrounded by different schools. The instructors were okay and I can say that they have taught their students well.

My current job: I am now a housewife and sometimes I write for others for extra income.

How long did it take to find a job: After I graduated, it took me several months. My first job was on a company related to electronics.

Why did I choose this school: It's a government school that provides cheaper tuition fee.

About TUP Manila: The atmosphere was not that bad. Its very near to canteens, computer shops and mall. I met few great professors and I would say that I learned a lot from them..

About TUP Manila: The ambiance of TUP was just okay since there are enough rooms for us. Although the facilities are usually not new, it was just okay for me as long as I can study and learn. The instructors in our course were nice.

My current job: I am currently trying to establish my own business which is related to foods. I am planning to have a small eatery near in our place.

How long did it take to find a job: Took me more than a year before I was hired on my first job.

Why did I choose this school: I live in Manila so, this University is near to me. The tuition fee is also cheap which was my main reason of choosing this school since we do not have much budget for my studies.

About TUP Manila: The ambiance was appropriate for learning, especially those who are eager to learn.
The instructors were nice and they can teach effectively.

My current job: I currently work as a crew in a fast food chain. I am assigned in the kitchen preparing for foods.

How long did it take to find a job: Less than a year, my first job was also in a food establishment as a serving staff.

Why did I choose this school: The school offered ladderized courses and the tuition fee was very affordable during those times.

About TUP Manila: The ambiance was just okay, there were places inside the campus where we can study or group together. Our professors were good and they helped us when we asked for guidance.

My current job: I am a supervisor. I supervised members of my team to make sure they finish work in time and in good quality.

How long did it take to find a job: Less than a year after graduating on this course.

Why did I choose this school: My sister recommended it. It is cheap, they accept DOST scholars with open arms, entrance exam was just a formality.

About TUP Manila: Professors were ok, like all other schools there are good ones there are the best ones. The atmosphere was ok.

How long did it take to find a job: I found a job right after graduation, I got absorbed by the company where I have the On the Job training.

Why did I choose this school: Our home is just near to TUP so, I decided to enroll on this school cause it will be practical for me and my family. It is also a state university which makes the tuition fee cheap or affordable.

About TUP Manila: I could say that the atmosphere for learning was good. There were enough areas or places inside the campus where students can study. The professors taught us well and majority were very approachable.

About TUP Manila: Its near to almost all establishments. The school is big. I really learned a lot here.

My current job: My position is IT Specialist in a Mining Company. Mainly supporting users with their IT problems.

How long did it take to find a job: After 2 months

Why did I choose this school: Already passed entrance tests in PUP planning for Political Science and PMMA for BS Marine Transportation and I knew nothing about TUP before until I passed by Aurora Boulevard by chance when I was looking for other affordable univerities to be enrolled right before high school graduation. I read the school’s name at the gate and I thought the name struck me. State-funded University therefore the tuition was cheap at Php 385.00 pesos per semester for full-load units during my time. Affordable tuition was an advantage for my family due to financial difficulties.

About TUP Manila: Ambiance: good
Professors: Most of them were good.

My current job: Working as an Electronics Engineer for a multinational oil field petroleum exploration company for their oil rig platforms and designs oil-well logging sensors and instrumentations.

How long did it take to find a job: A year before I graduated, got a job in a engineering services company for one of Manila’s public transport utility when they absorbed me in their company during internship.

Why did I choose this school: The first reason was the tuition fee is very affordable. Also the Engineering courses in this University have good passing rate on board exams.

About TUP Manila: Both the ambiance and the professors were fine. There were facilities that are not that new but still usable and working. There is a canteen and some facilities inside where students can stay and study.

My current job: I am currently working as a mechanical engineer in a local company. I assist clients on their technical and designs needs for their projects.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation, I reviewed for my board exam. After passing the board exam, I started to look for a job. So, it was more than a year after I got my first job after graduation.

About TUP Manila: Atmosphere - Nice and peaceful no propaganda. There are equality between the students.

Professors - Not all are willing to share their knowledge but some are very competitive and knowledgeable. Some professors are very generous and considerate while some are terrors.

Facilities - New facilities are built every year. There are enough facilities to conduct different works and experiments.

My current job: Mechanical Engineer.

About TUP Manila: The ambiance in TUP is really good. Professors are really well-mannered and professionals. Some are terror while some are nice. There are enough facilities in TUP. There are computer and chemical laboratories. Some rooms have airconditioners but others don't have. Summing-up, TUP is great.

About TUP Manila: The professors were okay, the rooms are so-so.

How long did it take to find a job: I rested for around 2 weeks? Then my friend invited me to go to this kind of job hiring. we went and actually that time I was not interested with BPO's, so I just went with the flow. Proceed with the interview process, got hired, but my friends were not. Such irony...

About TUP Manila: All professors, instructors on this university were very helpful persons and really doing their job. They will really teach you not only their subjects but also your interpersonal ability. The facilities, they really do renovation for those places needed to renovate. And the atmosphere of this university was really good as you will feel that you are safe.
