About St. Paul University Dumaguete:
The clinical instructors in my school were very competent, skilled and professional. They implement discipline at all times, they are very strict but in a good way and most of all they push us to limits that you can't even imagine. They never accept no for an answer, this is why our school has been on the top ten outstanding nursing schools in the Philippines for several years now. Failure is never an option for them, the only word that we must have is perfection. Along with being uptight, our professors are very Christ centered making sure that we always put God in everyhting we do. They may be very strict inside the four walls of the classroom but when we are already outside they are our very good friends.
The atmosphere was very friendly but at the same time strict, we were always surrounded by Nuns and Priests, our teachers were also disciplined so we were disciplined ourselves.
Facilities are very upto date, we even had a mini hospital in our department. The school always had new renovations and improvements every year. We always had what we needed.
My current job:
I am currently a private nurse and freelancer.
How long did it take to find a job:
After graduation I did not really look for a job right away since we were all required to review in our school. In preparation for the Nurses Licensure Examination given last June and July 2012, we reviewed for 3 months. After taking the board examination, I applied as a call center agent in one of the prestigious BPO companies, since I was already freelancing at that time and the pay was even better than working outside so I decided to resign. I freelanced for months then I got a job as a School Nurse in one of the Colleges in our town but after my contract ended they did not renew me anymore since there were two nurses in the school and I was the newbie. Good thing I was still freelancing at that time so it wasn't really a big loss. I am now working as a private nurse and working online as well.
