Scholarships at Southville Foreign University
1. Global Dimensions Olympiad (GDO) Scholarship
Southville offers scholarships to students with outstanding academic high school record. There are two ways by which students can apply for scholarship. The Global Dimensions Olympiad (GDO) is the primary mechanism used to identify potential scholars. To apply for this scholarship, high school seniors are required to take the GDO exam which is scheduled once a year and conducted by a professional testing body. GDO is open to all fourth year high school students.
To be considered for scholarship, the requirements include:
• In order to be interviewed for the 50% scholarship, a student must achieve a GDO weighted average score of 80, and no grade lower than 80 for Math and English. Meanwhile for the 100% scholarship, the student must be a candidate for Valedictorian and Salutatorian and a GDO weighted average score of at least 88 and no grades lower than 88 for Math and English.
• As a last step, Interviews will be conducted by management team.
2. Non-Global Dimensions Olympiad (GDO) Scholarship
A student may also apply for scholarship without going through the GDO process. The applicant will be required to take a scholarship exam administered by the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment (APSA). To be able to be qualified to take a Non-GDO scholarship exam, an applicant must have a weighted average of 85 in the final year of high school, and no grade lower than 80.
For a 50% scholarship, the student should have a weighted average of 80 and no grade lower than 80 in Math and English in the scholarship exam. Meanwhile, for a 100% scholarship the student has to be a candidate for Valedictorian or Salutatorian, and must have a weighted average of 88, and no grade lower than 88 in Math and English in the scholarship exam.
