For the MAST Physics Program, the following requirements must be met before admission into the program: a) Must have taken 18 units of undergraduate major physics courses beyond the general physics course b) Must have taken Calculus, Differential Equations, and Vector Analysis. 3. Only those with a general QPA of 3.0 in their undergraduate degrees will be directly admitted to the program. An initial conference may be requested by the applicant to explore the options within the program and to review his/her credentials. B. The following requirements for admission are to be submitted t6 the Dean of the Graduate Studies Program (GRASP) Coordinator: 1. Accomplished application forms 2. Letters of recommendation from the following; A. Dean of the College of Nursing from which the applicant graduated (for those who graduated within the last three years); B. An immediate supervisor or nursing director who he/she has worked with C. A member of the community. 3. Complete physical examination and a certification of good health from a physician, 4. Submission of the following: A. Official transcript of records (TOR) B. Photocopy of current professional license. 5. Non-refundable application fee of one hundred fifty pesos (Php 150.00) After complying with the above requirement, the applicant must arrange for a personal interview with the GRASP Coordinator. After final evaluation of the applicant's records, the GRASP Coordinator may recommend the acceptance of the applicant. The Committee on Admission will evaluate and decide on the applicant's capacity or suitability to take graduate studies. X close Master of Public Health Duration: 2 years Course description: The program is a multi-disciplinary approach to public health problems and issues. The program deals with problems on the local, national and international levels. Students are equipped not only to function in the government sector but also especially for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with public health interests. Initial concentration emphasis is Health Education, an essential ingredient to any health program. Emphasis will be on state-of-the-art theory and practice in health education in order to produce health behavioral change. As to the development of the degree program progresses other concentration tracks will be added, such as: microbiology/parasitology, epidemiology/statistics, public health administration, environmental health/ sanitary engineering, and public health nutrition. Concentrations in: 1. Health Education 2. Public Health Sociology 3. Environmental Health 4. General Concentration 5. Public Health Administration 6. Epidemiology Admission requirements: 1. Graduates of approved medical, dental and veterinary schools. 2. Graduates with a baccalaureate degree and at least one year of public health experience. The program actively encourages students from a wide range of disciplines in order to impact the public’s health. Disciplines such as education, nursing, engineering, theology, medical technology, social work, etc are welcome with appropriate experience. Prospective students from non-science/health disciplines will be required to take a proficiency examination. Those who do not pass the examination will be required to take the course: Intro to Bioscience and Health 101/3 credits) prior to entering the MPH course proper. X close MA in Extension Administration Duration: 2 years Course description: The MAREXA curriculum consists of short-term courses, practi - cum and independent study. During the summer term, the student comes to the campus to attend seminar-workshops on extension work and administration. During the regular semester, the stu - dent goes back to his school or home base to do practicum and independent study. While doing practicum study, he is enrolled at INDEX and his work is reported to and monitored by a faculty supervisor. Courses are offered during the regular semester for students who are not on FAPE scholarship. At the end of the program, the student submits an action research program related to his extension work. Admission requirements: Extension programs demand a broad understanding of human behavior and socio-cultural dimensions of change and innovation. Because of this, the Institute requires the following of an applicant: 1. A bachelor’s degree in social sciences or allied disciplines. 2. A grade point average of 3.0 or it's equivalent in the undergraduate course, or a proficiency in the field of specialization. 3. Two years of experience as extension administrator for an applicant who does not have sufficient educational back - ground in the social sciences. A student who does not have sufficient background in the social sciences will be required to do extra readings and analysis on social science subjects which the Institute considers important for extension work. X close Master of Applied Science in Agricultural Systems Duration: 2 years Course description: The Master of Applied Science in Systems Agriculture is offered as an "on-the-job" study program, undertaken for a minimum period of four semesters (or two years). The major learning activity in this program is the conduct of an Action Research. A significant feature of the program is an on-campus live-in residential period, during which the students undergo intensive lectures, workshops and library research. This residential period offers the students the opportunity to program their office and home activities and focus their attention on program-related learning tasks. Residential periods are scheduled from Thursday to Saturday of the last week of every semester month. Admission requirements: 1. Prospective applicants must be graduates of agriculture or agriculture related baccalaureate degree programs with a Quality Point Average (QPA) of 2.50, or show above satisfactory level of performance in the agricultural industry. 2.
