About SLU: The professors in my school came from reputable and top-performing schools in the country. They had enough training and education to teach the courses that they were tasked to teach. Most of my professors were media practitioners before they embraced the teaching profession that is why we learned practical things which are very useful to me especially when I started working in the field of communication. They have shown us the bird's eyeview of the real media arena. In terms of using media equipment, we did not have a hard time manipulating them because SLU has a Mass Communication laboratory where we held our talkshows, radio dramas, radio broadcasting activities, DJ programming and TV newscasting. The laboratory is equipped with an updated editing machine, lapel microphone, sofa set for the talk shows video camera, radio console and a lot more. Furthermore, we also experienced being media personalities when our teachers deployed us in different tv and radio stations in Baguio City where we hosted in big events such as Panagbenga, gathered news stories from big personalities such as national politicians, showbiz celebrities and businessmen who usually make news in national media. I am very grateful that they patiently taught us the theories of communication but I am more than appreciative that they guided us on how to apply them in the real world of media. SLU is a place that is very conducive for learning. It has gardens where students can take a rest during their breaks and no-smoking areas so students do not have to worry about air pollution. The cleanliness and daintiness of classrooms, buildings and facilities are being maintained by the janitors. Although most of the students came from far places, SLU makes them feel homey because of its friendly and professional administration staff.

My current job: I am currently working as a lecturer in Cagayan State University-Carig Campus. I teach language and communication subjects.

How long did it take to find a job: It only took me two months after graduation to land on a job.

About SLU: The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program is housed in the School of Humanities (SoH), located in the Main Campus. Most of it's students take their classes in the Dr. Waldo Perfecto Building, which is considered as a second home to the SoH students.
The atmosphere at Waldo Perfecto is quite lively and conversational, with students found in the hallways rehearsing, engaging in friendly debate, or recording their projects in communication or English subjects.

The professors are quite used to this atmosphere, as most of them are SLU – SoH graduates themselves. A good number, if not all, of the professors in the BS Psychology program are, or have been at some point, Guidance Counselors, Graduate Program Coordinators, or Deans, in the university. This contributes to a great mix of expertise and heart in the faculty, their students, and the graduates.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me less than a month to acquire my first job as a Guidance Counselor for High School students.

Why did I choose this school: At first, I didn't care which school because I didn't plan to live up to college or where I am now, so I went to a university close to home.

About SLU: First, its is in Baguio City in which you'll fall in love with the climate. I could get to school by just walking and no stressful commutes (however, the traffic is evident now and they could not resolve it because, unlike other place, they can't expand the roads). The residents are not all are Filipinos nor friendly, but I love the way they have preserved their culture in the place, plus most students I met in school had talents other that what they are pursuing whether it be in music, arts, literary, or other admirable ones.

Every instructor I had are unique in their way, those students who view profs as terror - in a different point of view, they are actually just that good in their profession that you cannot reach their bar.

While the buildings were old, but they have kept it properly maintained. They did not have elevators during my time (2011).

My current job: I get to be the person who creates, implements, ensures, and audits Environmental, Social, Safety, and Health compliance and others on Renewable Energy Power Plant projects for the pre-construction, construction, and operation phase of the Plant.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation and board exam: 2 months.

About SLU: Our school is great and most of the facilities support our needs as students. Although, I must say we lack rooms for project making because we do most of our projects at home.

Also, our professors are great because they are always available and you could ask them anytime about projects and some IT-related stuff. Most of them are very enthusiastic on teaching and learning more for their students.

My current job: My current job is a Web Developer/Programmer/SEO Specialist

How long did it take to find a job: I had a job one week after the graduation. It was really fast because our college helps us find jobs in different areas of the country. They also refer us to some companies and organizations that are looking for IT Specialists.

About SLU: Having to meet up to the high standards of the professors in our University only added up to the challenge that goes along with my course. But I never saw it as a threat though, it has always been an opportunity for me to become more focused. Saint Louis University has become my home for 5 years. And since it is located in Baguio City, everything seems more pleasant. The simple life in this City makes studying easier, you get to relax in between classes, you get to enjoy beautiful landscapes and every corner of the school screams relaxation.

My current job: I am currently an Accountant for an Australian Company.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation, I needed to review for 6 months for the CPA board exam. After the review I decided to look for a job and in less than a month, I got my first job.

Why did I choose this school: I chose Saint Louis University because it offers a wide range of education and knowledge when for students who aspire more knowledge to become successful.

About SLU: It has a good atmosphere because people around are easy to get along with and also the campus is wide which enable students to do activities inside the campus.

The professors in SLU are approachable and also possess high standards which challenges students to be more dedicated in studying each subject.

The facilities of the school are not that good, but still has the capacity to enable students to be comfortable with the materials they are using.

My current job: I am currently a beat reporter of RPN 9 Baguio radio station.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me at least 6 months to get a job, due to the reason that I started to work as a Home-based English Tutor for 5 months.

Why did I choose this school: Saint Louis University is one of the most promising schools not only in the Cordilleras but also in it's neighboring regions. I have chosen to study here because of the quality of it's education. SLU has a lot of board passers, topnotchers, and has high passing rates in any of the courses the school offers.

About SLU: Saint Louis University has three campuses. The main campus is located at Bonifacio St., Baguio City. The second campus is at Maryheights, Bakakeng, Baguio City. And the third campus is at Claro M. Recto, Navy Base, Baguio City.

There is not much pollution especially in the Maryheights and Navy Base campuses since these campuses are newly built infrastructures and that the buildings are not much close to roads. SLU's campuses are wide that students of the same school (college) may not see/know each other; but still, there are organizations for each course for their members to communicate and socialize with each other.

Instructors and Professors of SLU are great. They are intelligent beings. Some might look "terror" but it is just their way to discipline their students. Yes, they are strict but in a way that they see to it that their students learn. They are also kind-hearted. From my 4 years in this institution, I have NOT heard any of bribery happening. Well yes, there are professors and instructors who are very good looking and you would not know that they are your teacher unless they reveal themselves. Most of them have served SLU for more than 10 years already.

There are a lot of facilities provided in SLU. In the three campuses, Medical and Dental Clinics, Chapel, Security Office, and Canteens are available. Fitness Center, Covert Courts (1&2), Tennis Court, Audio Visual Rooms, Conference Rooms/Meeting Rooms, and Printing Press are the other facilities provided by the school in the main campus. There are also a lot of gardens in the main campus like Mechanical Engineering (ME) Garden, garden near 1st floor, fountain.

My current job: I am currently taking my Bachelor of Laws and Letters and I think I need to have full time in my studies.

About SLU: The atmosphere: well, it was actually okay. People are nice it makes studying fun in some way for everyone.

The professors: some are actually friendly. Some are tough to please but that’s okay it makes things more challenging and it puts students to a place where they should work hard.

The facilities: that’s what needs improvement really. In my opinion our facilities are VERY outdated. It would be great if they improved on that.

My current job: I am a News editor.
I Edit news that are reported on air (radio/television). It is an Easy Job specially for beginners and a good one to earn experience

How long did it take to find a job: Three months after I graduated. Actually I had job interviews before, but I chose this job because I love News Editing.

About SLU: The professors in my BS Biology course are cool and passionate about their subjects. My math teacher is a real mathematician who will always tell us we will be thrown out the window if we cannot solve X, while my botany teacher was so dedicated that until now I still remember allium sativum (onions) and it how it's cells look like. And our englsih professor is so eloquent and elegant.

The school is real fun even if the professors are strict, because professors are friends outside the rooms.

The facilities are good and clean. It is always nice going to school with a clean, spacious environment.

My current job: I am a rural doctor who loves serving the people. The love to serve others is partly fueled by what Saint Louis University has inculcated in me.

How long did it take to find a job: Immediately after passing the board I got a job.

About SLU: The professors – well as most schools are, there are also different types of professors in my university. The terror type, the friendly type, the gentle type, the harsh type. Nevertheless, I can say that,I believe all of them have the proper qualifications to be able to endow us with knowledge.

I believe that being one of the top university in the region, the atmosphere and the facilities were apt to fulfill its vision to educate and produce top caliber graduates. Though, it may still need some improvement, (since technology itself is changing) during my time I could say that they were enough to gain crucial learning and experience to be able to survive the outside world. And if I may say, it was far advanced compared to other colleges and universities.

My current job: I work online as a marketing/virtual assistant.

How long did it take to find a job: I was actually able to land a full time job even before I graduate.

About SLU: Our school is situated in a place with naturally cool climate, therefore I can say it is conducive to learning and it is comfortable.
The professors are approachable and have excellent grasp of what they teach. The facilities are not so complete, but what are essential to facilitate learning are provided.

My current job: I graduated November 2012, and I am not yet employed. In fact, I am reviewing for the board examination. Having a license increases the opportunity of employment, and is a requirement of the law for jobs where design and Chemical engineering judgment/decisions, among others, are involved.
I had an On-Job-Training, which is a course requirement, as a Lab Analyst in a mining company.

About SLU: The school I graduated from is, I believe, one of the best Universities of the North.

With regards the professors, as they all say, you cannot choose your professors. Having "toxic" instructors is inevitable. Despite this, I can say that most of the instructors are experienced, knowledgeable, and fit for the job.

The school's atmosphere actually depends where you are assigned to have classes. There are some buildings that are near the busy roads, causing some distractions. There are some rooms that are too far from your last class that by the time you reach it, you are too tired to listen. But there are places that may suit your mood. If you are in the mood to review, the library is widely spaced, with about 4 floors I guess? If you're in the mood to reflect, there are lots of benches around, a scenic view of the fountain, and a mini garden on top of the so called "giant steps" where people usually use to meet. If you want entertainment, there's the Center for Culture and the Arts, where talents are being showcased, sometimes with pay but sometimes for free, or even the Prince Bernard Hall where sports are being played. If you're in the mood to eat and have mini chitchats or whatsoever, they have 2 canteens in the Main campus, and one each at the Gonzaga Building and the Bakakeng Campus. If you want more choices of food, there are lots of food chains surrounding the campus. The campus also has its own bookstore, but it's not really that useful for student materials since they do not sell school supplies besides a pen or pencil. But there are lots of bookstores surrounding the area.

The facilities are quite okay. They have lots of great classrooms, comfort rooms for each floor. Not at their best, but are still being improved. Some resources still lack (for example, materials for return demonstrations) but efforts are being done to compensate with these quirks.

In general, the school is great. But still, it will always depend on the students on how they maximize their resources and on how they will deal with people surrounding them.

My current job: As of the moment I am not employed because I am going to apply for medicine this coming school year. I believe that I will get better opportunities by being a doctor and it is a profession involving me still being a nurse.

How long did it take to find a job: I didn't find a job right after graduation because I still focused on my reviews for the board exams. I got a job approximately 4 months after graduation, 2 months after my board exams, 2 weeks after the results were released. Not that bad actually, but it was just a 3 month contract and after which I returned to being a couch potato.

Why did I choose this school: One of the top schools in the Philippines and it is just a 1 hour travel from our province which is La Union.

About SLU: THE ATMOSPHERE:
One of the best factors why you need to enroll here, you ain't gonna sweat, you look fresh and cool. You'll get to wear jackets and shauls, and stuffs action and movie stars wear, :D. You'll see cute, native, smiley people. Great Environment.

THE PROFESSORS:
Outside the room, they are friendly, approachable, nothing to worry about, you can even sit with them and have a drink and have a party, whatsoever, Cool Professors. Inside the room, You kind of wanna forget all the stuffs I said when they are outside the room, Yeah, they teach you so well, explain stuffs so well, they are very well knowledgeable on their subjects, but you know when it's time for examination, Come on, It was never ever discussed, They wanna fail you in your exam, You gotta do some extra efforts like use Google somehow. And so you will love 75. :)

THE FACILITIES:
Nothing to brag. The equipment are so old school, it's so analog, instead of helping you in a project, it will add up to your problem. As an excuse, our professors always tell us: "You gotta figure out how things work, learn to troubleshoot, look for the problem, fix it, after all you were trained to be like this, a solution provider, a designer, an Engineer."

My current job: IT Operations Associate, (IT Field, yes, still related to ECE)

How long did it take to find a job: I guess 3 months.

About SLU: It is very challenging and breath-taking school. This school will make you feel how is it feel like being in a university of both urban and rural places. You know what I mean - not so liberated, not so bored.
The professors are all so great. Even when the world will tell you not to go to school, You will insist on going to school. why? because our class is not just all about education but also entertainment. It is as if we are having a beer-on-the-table conversation, just hanging out, haha. how I missed!

My current job: now, I'm still a student, a law student!

How long did it take to find a job: It's easy - just a week after graduation, maybe. because when they'd learned that I'm from SLU, it's a prestige qualification already, knowing the quality of the School itself. But I have to give up my job for my schooling right now.

Why did I choose this school: Well, me and my dad, it has been our dream for me, to study in SLU. The weather is just a plus unto it. And one more thing, students were really given a thorough training in order to be prepared for their upcoming careers in life.

About SLU: Well, about the atmosphere, sometimes I feel like I’m in the movie of Twilight, especially when there is fog all over our campus. The professors, they are so good, never accept mediocre work, they pushed us to our limits, and they don’t just teach us, homeroom based lessons, also worthwhile life lessons. The facilities, uhm out of 10, I’d give it 6, okay for a university, but can be improved.

My current job: I am currently a freelance Feature writer.

The professors / teachers - their standards were very challenging. Each professor trains each student to be competent to be able to excel in the real world.

The facilities - we had complete equipment that helps students learn more, I can say that those were not really updated, but still very useful for the students.

My current job: I am part of an Advertising Agency, I do a lot of photo editing for advertisements to be submitted.

About SLU: Saint Louis University was a very good place to study. Everyone seems to smile at me always. The professors were well trained that they know the subjects they teach very well. Hence, the facilities make the students feel more comfortable when they study. There are no air-conditioners in the university because we are in a cool/high place while the library and the computers are indeed very helpful and useful. They provided balconies and vacant rooms for the students to rest. And last, they provided a mezzanine at the library and an oval like park for the students study.

My current job: I am now an owner of a bakeshop.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me only a week or less before finding a job after I graduated.

Why did I choose this school: Because I live at Baguio City. And in baguio city this is the most popular University in terms of providing top class students. Proven because of all the board exams and other type of bar exams which can be seen on every National Examinations. And most importantly it's very near our house so I can just walk for 5-10 minutes and I am already there. This is a good opportunity for me to be enrolled in this school

About SLU: The atmosphere is great! Its cold their, it's clean their and it's stress free because the area is so wide and you can spend time anywhere.
About the professors well I believe they are just like the other professors, some are Good at doing their profession but friendly and some are not that good an also a terror.
The facilities are good and you can utilize all the areas there and if you need anything you can just get a permission from the maintenance or the head and you can use it

My current job: I am a System Admin at SPI Global. I do most of the time programming and software troubleshooting. Everything is taught and training is made.

How long did it take to find a job: As I can remember it, about TWO months after I graduated. Because I really wanted to work on a Company that will make me good at and will enhance all my skills and knowledge about everything I learned.

About SLU: Most of the professors are professionals like accountants, managers and lawyers so you need to exert effort in listening to them. The atmosphere is very competitive, but you can improve yourself to be better. During that time Internet was not yet that utilized and I remember paying P60 per hour to use the net so mostly we use print media and tv to do our projects. There were no big advertising companies here in Baguio before.

My current job: I am a Sales Associate selling house and lot packages here in Baguio City.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduating, I was absorbed as loans clerk at a credit company then I was a sales agent for a books company, after that I worked as a medical representative for a local company. After that I worked as a merchandiser as a stepping stone to become a salesman. Then I became an English tutor for Koreans and now a sales associate for a realestate company.

About SLU: The professors in the Psychology department are highly competitive. Majority have finished their master's degree and a few completed their doctorate degree.

There is a need to add & upgrade the facilities, not only in the Psychology dep't, but also in the whole university. Most, if not all, of the facilities are ancient - instruments & equipment way back when the university was still young and several departments in the university have limited basic teaching equipment - multimedia projectors, and the like. In addition, the university is limited in its teaching aids. Yet, given the obsolete state of facilities in the university, the instructors/professors are very creative in terms of presenting & delivering lessons.

The school atmosphere is strict in terms of implementation of rules & regulations, given its Catholic orientation.

My current job: At present, I'm a full time mother. But before I became a mom, I worked as a Psychologist in a non-government organization in the country, and as a Psychology Instructor in the same university.

How long did it take to find a job: It only took me two months after graduation to land a job.

About SLU: SLU has good instructors and professors, most of them are in Masters and Doctors, so the respect is their, and you know that they are really experts of their own field and academic space. With SLU's research culture, it is very conducive for discovery and knowing things as guided by your instructors. When it comes to facilities, SLU has it, they have as far as I remember a 5 floor library with all the needed books for you to read on and research, they also have a well maintained and updated laboratories for Biology, Medicine and IT, the curriculum is well updated too.

But no school is perfect as we say, there are chances that instructors go beyond the acceptable level of the students, there is a high chance that subjects will be too hard for students, and SLU is known for its high standard making it harder to students who are not used to SLU's way of training. Another thing is they have to be more sensible to students specially during typhoons.

My current job: IT Director

How long did it take to find a job: Basically I was not able to practice my BS Biology course, but I was immediately hired during my 2nd year on MS IT by a Manila based Fashion Company as their IT Consultant. Right now I partly own an IT Company which is HIVE Inc.

Why did I choose this school: Proximity to our place.

About SLU: School was great since, we are one of the best performing schools when it comes to board exams.
The instructors are great as well. They are engineers and so they have my respect.

My current job: I'm an Instrumenation Engineer in a mining company. I am responsible in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating etc instruments and control systems used in the plant.

How long did it take to find a job: After 5 years of my study with 9 units failed and right after I passed the board exam, It was difficult for me to land a job. It was recession that time 2008-2010. I had to go to various Philippine Economic Zone authorities and submitted resume however for some reason a lot of the electronic companies are either in freeze hiring or even closing. I did have a lot of interviews and I was admitted however the salary was really minimum and so I chose to work in a call center company due to a higher income. I worked for over a year but then realized that I have an engineering title and yet I chose the BPO. I was really embarrassed (no offense to BPO workers, my respect to you since your work really is difficult). And so I contacted my friend (the one I mentioned earlier) and they had a hiring in a Telecoms company. 15k was the starting salary and so I took it. After 6 months working here, I resigned since a better opportunity came and this is my current work - Instrumentation engineer with a higher salary and more company benefits.

Why did I choose this school: Because SLU is known here for it's excellent academic structure and the weather in Baguio is really nice. We decided to travel here even though we are far from Baguio just to Study here in SLU.

About SLU: The ambiance is noisy but in a fun way. Thoughts and Ideas are heard throughout the whole campus and you can see students smiling, chatting and having their own fun activities.

The professors are a little Strict but I know this is only because they wanted their students to learn more from them.

The facilities are a little old not well maintained this is because of some incidents that happened long ago when facilities tend to break or give up due to too much use.

My current job: Photographer/Emcee of Jc’s Catering and Events Planning.
I take pictures and I lead the whole program. I also manage how the program runs.

How long did it take to find a job: Roughly one year. It is very difficult to find the right kind of job you wanted specially when the salary is low.

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school because it is the biggest in our city, and they have produced a lot of successful graduates. I wanted to be among them. I knew early on that when applying for a job, one of the first things people look for is the school where the applicant graduated from. Saint Louis University is the most prestigous school in our city.

The second reason I chose this school was because they provided a good athletic program which enabled me to attend college and virtually not pay anything. I was also able to see some of the country through meets and competitions. Travelling showed me things I was only able to read from books.

Third, my mother worked for one of the colleges in our city. She is quite known by everybody there that is why, even if I could have gone there for free, I chose a different school because I wanted to be known as me, not as the daughter of my Mom. Unfortunately, during my first year in college, two of my professors knew my mother!

About SLU: Saint Louis University was very conducive for learning. They had rooms with enough space, chairs and desks for all students. There were specialized rooms for audio/visual, computers, science, etc (the ones needed for my course). Each college (Engineering, Nursing, Education, etc) had their own buildings, but the most that inspired me was the library. It is one whole 6-storey building dedicated only for books! That really inspired me. Each building had it's own canteen, and each floor in each building had toilets with running water. I would like to emphasize the importance of running water in toilets since this was not the case in other colleges and universities during my time.

My professors were very helpful mostly because they were really knowledgeable in their fields. They made college life challenging. Each task given served as a means for me to think out of the box. The importance of this became obvious later in life. Thank you my Professors!

My current job: I am now a freelance worker doing mostly transcription from home. I was a single parent, and working from home was the only way I could do both work and being a mother at the same time. Now, I am married but still continued to work home-based so I could have more time for my family.

My wish to be a leader is still there. I am a leader in my own home, my husband being very supportive. Working from home instead of an office handling some people may have been my dream, but managing my home is my fulfillment.

How long did it take to find a job: I started applying for a job even before I was about to graduate. Luckily, I got accepted at our University as an assistant to the registrar right after graduation. That gave me some experience that I was able to use for my next jobs.

Why did I choose this school: I passed the exam, and it was one of the best in town.

About SLU: The Ambiance is conducive in learning as they have great areas for study, a great big library, public areas with trees where you can relax a little etc. As for the teachers, we had great instructors who really taught us well, I would say they have definitely influenced me a lot in what I am now.

My current job: Freelance Makeup Artist, Freelance Voice Talent and Radio Announcer.

How long did it take to find a job: 6 months.

Why did I choose this school: Because of the passing rate of the school in the board exam.

About SLU: The ambiance of the school is great and the environment is very conducive for learning, also the facility and equipment is enough for all the students. In terms of computers then it is enough because every student have their own personal computer during their classes. For the library, it is good because you can really review their and students always stay their during their break to have a piece of mind, scan their notes or even do their projects.

How long did it take to find a job: It takes a long time to look for a good job because after you graduate, you still need to take reviews (if you want) then take the board exam then wait for the result.
As what I have heard, when you are in the list of top 10 then the company is the one that will look for you. Actually, the length for looking a job is still depend on how a person handle it.

Why did I choose this school: SLU is one of the top universities in Baguio and I believed that when I study here I will be a Very Good Employer to my future company.

About SLU: The school campus is pretty big and the area is pretty nice. The Facilities are well equipped and these are all provided for us students to use. The professors are pretty nice too maybe I think the climate helps us out. We can study well and the professors can teach us well. The environment is stress free and no signs of boredom for me.

My current job: I am an Employee on a Famous Donut Restaurant which is located in Manila and I am very happy to work there because they provide benefits for me and I get to have promos and other cool stuffs. What I do there, well I am assigned on the Cash Registrar and sometimes I do the delivery of food as well.

How long did it take to find a job: As far as I can remember my first job was a Service Boy in a hotel and it took me a month to be hired.

About SLU: Atmosphere: I really love the location of my Alma Mater because the weather is perfectly nice. The people are warm and not stressful.

Professors: They are great and they make sure not only basic knowledge you must learned but true stories in life and the corporate world. Most of my professors are jolly but strict. They are the type of professor which you can easily to approach. They are all professional and they really know what they are teaching.

Facilities: I should say average, improving and developing.

My current job: Sales & Marketing Coordinator

Why did I choose this school: I am a dependent (entitled to free tuition fee and other fees).

About SLU: In 2010, it opened it's new campus for SABM (School of Accountancy and Business Management) and I was part of this School so apparently I transferred to there. Since it is a new building, the facilities were good, it has 3 elevators operating (which the main campus doesnt have) and there is a wide field for various activities like intramurals, sports, and university events that different organizations facilitate. Studying in SLU was a great priviledge for me to learn and achieve my Bachelor's degree. Different schools in the university is highly accredited my PAASCU and CHED. The professors I had back when I was still studying were all professionals and had a wide experience in the field of the course they're teaching.
