Course description:
The Strategic Educational Leadership and Management Program (SELMCP)/Master of Arts in Education (MAED) program prepares current and prospective school managers and leaders to meet the professional demands of educational leadership. The course aims to develop competencies related to effective leadership and best educational management practices, as well as allows students to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of curriculum development, teaching and learning and the supervision of institution. Exposure to research about current realities, emerging trends and issues in various aspects of educational management ensures their continuing growth and effectiveness as school leaders and managers. Students are prepared to conduct scholarly research that will address relevant issues in their own school setting.
Hence, the SDSC GSIPD SELM/MAED enables the students to:
1. Broaden the scope of knowledge and development of specific skills, competencies and values for successful performance in the field of educational service.
2. Enhance the career potential of the professional educators through optimum development for the efficient and effective fulfillment of their roles in education.
3. Develop deeper understanding on the managerial, supervisory and instructional competencies for higher level educational leadership.
