Today's Hospital Managers will often be required to perform various administrative tasks. The course is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in the different settings in the hospital, as well as many other functions. Under a general Hospital Administrator, graduates will be middle level office managers designated to handle the process in the functioning of their areas of responsibility in the hospital. They will be tasked to manage a number of departments in the hospital at one given time, which aims to decentralize authority, increase employee involvement at lower levels of the organization, restructure decision-making process, and encourage more innovative and forward thinking.
Job Outlook
Healthcare is one of the fastest growing fields in the country, offering outstanding career opportunities for the trained professionals. The healthcare industry is expected to increase significantly within the next several years as the health services industry expands due to technological advances in medicine and a growing and aging population. Employment growth will also be driven by the increase in the number of group practices, clinics, and other healthcare facilities that needs a high proportion of support personnel, particularly the Hospital Manager who can handle administrative duties.
This entry-level occupation provides basic training and experience and serves as a stepping stone to a more highly sensitive position like Hospital Administrator, following a post-graduate master's course.
