Course description:
A 6 -year veterinary medicine degree program: 2 - year preparatory (pre-vet) and a 4- year proper curriculum. The National Veterinary Medicine Admission Test (NVAT) administered by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) is a requirement prior to admission to the proper curriculum.
The degree trains student to be knowledgeable in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control of companion, domestic, exotic and wildlife, food or production animal diseases.
Numerous career opportunities are open to DVM graduates; they may engage in various areas of the profession as:
• Solo owners, partners or associates of animal hospital and livestock farms
• Parasitologists, nutritionists, pathologists, microbiologists
• Sales and marketing managers of veterinary drugs and health products
• Animal specialists on artificial breeding, embryo transfer and surgery
• Researchers and veterinary instructors
• Regulatory and public health workers in government and private agencies
• Equine practitioners; companion animal practitioners; swine, poultry and livestock practitioners; exotic and zoo animal practitioners; laboratory animal practitioners, etc.

Freshmen (Preparatory Veterinary Medicine Curriculum)
1. Good scholastic record
2. PAC College admisssion test
3. IVMZ oral and written communication proficiency test
Veterinary Medicine Proper Curriculum
1. Pass the National Veterinary Admission Test (NVAT)
2. A GPA of 2.0 or better in the pre-vet curriculum
3. Completion of all the required number of units (89 units) or at least 90% (80 units/89 units) of the required units from the pre-vet curriculum
Shifters/Transferees
1. A GPA of 2.0 or better for earned related subjects
2. IVMZ oral and written proficiency test
3. Assessment and evaluation of earned related subjects by the Registrar
