Course description:
At the end of the degree program, the students should have:
1. Have an in-depth understanding of the basic principles governing biological science;
2. Be able to extend knowledge an understanding to a critical assessment of current views and theories in selected areas of biological sciences;
3. Be able to perform basic biological and chemical techniques in either a laboratory or fieldwork research setting;
4. Have adequate technical writing skills and effective oral communication abilities;
5. Have developed the skills required for both autonomous practice and teamwork;
6. To be able to think critically, solve problems, and appreciate the limitations and implications of science in everyday life;
7. Have developed an objective viewpoint for discerning information and analyzing biases of other people;
8. Have a strong sense of ethical behavior;
9. Have identified the human and moral values that a true Filipino should live by; and
10. Imbibed in their lives the Marian values and ideals of St. Marcellin Champagnat.
The program is structured to meet the needs of professional biologists who can be employed in government, private or self enterprises where scientists with biological expertise are needed; teach at the tertiary level; undertake research in the various areas of Biology; and pursue scientific competencies for further professional studies in medicine, education, business and other allied courses.
