Course description:
The Engineering Technology Management program is a four-year program that credits the first year to third year level subjects of the 3-year Diploma in Engineering Technology earned in MSU-IIT. It enables the Engineering Technology graduate to enter the program at the fourth year level. It is highly recommended program for engineering technology graduates who desire to attain a degree that strengthens and enhances their technical knowledge and skills and provides them competence to work effectively as technologists assuming higher level responsibilities. This program was developed and implemented in 2007 due to the lifting of the terminality of the 3-year Diploma in Engineering Technology program (MSU-BOR Res. No. 30, 1997) and based on the mandate of the Ladderized Education Program (Executive Order No. 358). In this field of study, graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills in technical management to prepare them to: • become leadmen, foremen, or supervisors in industrial and business establishments and future entrepreneurs and managers of their own business enterprise, • work effectively with computer based machines, equipment, and systems, • work with global applications of their specialized fields, and • pursue continuous professional growth and development. Its major subjects focus on industrial technology management, job supervision and project management, maintenance management, human resource management, and computerized control of industrial processes, systems, machines, and equipment. It also includes probability and statistics, and research methods and thesis writing.
