Why did I choose this school: This is the only school in Socsargen region offering courses for those who dream of being sailors. It is known as having helped it's students go abroad by being sailors.

About Mindanao Polytechnic College: The school is non-sectarian and was founded by a former Filipino sailor who became a captain of a ship and who had traveled to many parts of the world. He wanted to help his countrymen experience traveling by being a seaman. For this, he saved money and put up a maritime school that is open to all. In order to encourage the people in this region study in this school he made the tuition very affordable even to the middle class families. For the deserving children o poor families, there was a scholarship offered.

My current job: I am working on a contractual basis for a cargo ship that travels in Far East Asia only. I am doing various jobs like cleaning, helping in the kitchen, or the laundry.

How long did it take to find a job: In our school, right after the 3rd year, a student has to go on a 1-year actual apprenticeship in a vessel with pay by the flag carrier. Immediately after graduation, I had already a job waiting for me. The job was the same job I became an apprentice.

About Mindanao Polytechnic College: Proffesors are excellent and memorable, they give a proper learning.

My current job: Now I work abroad as a housekeeping attendant.

How long did it take to find a job: After 1 month. But actually this is my second job, first I worked as a Therapist at Crown Regency Hotel for one year.
