About Mapúa: The professors are competent educators. They are demanding but reasonable. Professors are both young and old. Some are business practioners from different business industry which I think is helpful for they are adept to current industry pratices.

MIT school environment is friendly, safe and conducive for learning. Though male dominant in population, it never discriminate ladies.

The during my time (1995) facilities are good and now I‘ve heard that its very modern and technologically competetive. Fees during my time are very affordable but now I believe it is still worth every penny because of the good teaching thatit offers.

My current job: Currently I am working as a Logistics Manager in one of the best company in the country.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation, it took me two months before I accept my first job.

About Mapúa: Mapua Institute of Technology known as the most sadistic school in the country. There is no spoon feeding or easy way to pass in every subject. Students are very busy to meet the both ends of the subject, that they have no time (mostly) to know what's happening in the current events.

The professors are very difficult to please, thus a grade of 3 ( least passing grade) means celebration.

The campus is safe since students, as i said earlier have no time in political and social issue,thus there's no student rallies inside the area. Our schools are armed with the best facilities and testing laboratories which you cannot find in other engineering school.

My current job: My present job is a Technical Sales Engineer (pumps division)

How long did it take to find a job: It took me 6 moths to find a job because i had to review for a board exam.

Why did I choose this school: This school have been well known for producing great engineers for a very long time. The name of the school is well established when it comes to employment of the graduates. Topnotchers are present whenever board exam results are out.

About Mapúa: The school is well known for it's "quarter system", which is having 10 weeks as a semester. Studying is fast paced but well coordinated. I think this system trains the students to be prepared in the industry and in their chosen career. The school is small and it is easy to know most of the students around the school. Professors of the school are very systematic and each has unique way of teaching. Some professors have established names for specific subjects they teach and most have dedicated their lives in teaching for years. Facilities are upgraded every year, laboratory equipment are state of the art and is enough for each student. Overall, the environment of the school is very good and conducive for learning.

My current job: Radio Network Performance Engineer.
I now work for a Japanese company and we are optimizing Japan's mobile networks.

How long did it take to find a job: I was able to get a job a month before my graduation and I passed the board exam while working.

Why did I choose this school: Because it is the the top engineering school in the Philippines.

About Mapúa: Nice atmosphere. I met a lot of friends and few enemies. We also felt safe with those walls of Intramuros.

Professors, I know that they are competitive since MIT requires engineering graduates and I know most of them are taking Masters Degree if not Doctorate. They are not perfect, sometimes they are at their best sometimes not. I know that I graduated with more than enough knowledge about what will I do at work and that is thanks for my professors that trained me well.

All of our classrooms, except Chemistry Laboratories, are air conditioned. We also have some equipment/devices that only us have. I know also that our Cisco laboratory is the best since we have many devices (routers, switches, etc.) and we can actually use it or test it. I just remembered when I was still in college, I accidentally deleted the OS of a Cisco switch. That is how free we are to use those devices.

My current job: Field Service Engineer. Installing telephone line, DSL and cable TV to homes.

How long did it take to find a job: 11 months since I took the board exam first. After the board exam, it took me 2 months to land on my first job

About Mapúa: As I entered the School premises I noticed that the students are quite good and they look like they came from rich family. Maybe this is because in order to study here you need this enough resources or shall I say the money in order to pay your tuition fee. Mapua has Four quarters per School year which means this is a fast paced school and the lessons are taught pretty fast. Which also means you will pay faster and you pay big amounts of money. As I go through the whole campus I was quite interested about the equipment, machines and shall I call it artifacts around the school. So I would I say that they are fully equipped with the needed equipment for school purposes.

My current job: I am currently an Associate Software Engineer at a High Rising BPO company in the Philippines and I Love it in here. I do the software part of the Company and I am related to the external stuffs done with our company. All of this are pretty confidential so I cannot really say any facts or doings that my job is responsible on.

How long did it take to find a job: Before we graduated in Mapua, they held Job Fairs and lots of seminars for us students so we ca find the right job for us. They even sent top class companies to our schools just to provide us students the top class opportunity to work on the field and to have big incomes. So as I graduated there were already lots of phone calls and texts coming from different companies that they want an interview and the likes of that. And so this Company I work on came up and wants me for an interview so I came for the interview and here I am now working for them.

Why did I choose this school: Mapua is known as the best engineering school in our country. It is also known as one of the top college schools to provide Excellent Academic standards. Though the tuition fee is very high and the semester is based on a 4 terms per year, I still decided to pursue my Civil Engineering here because I wanted to be the Best in my field of specialty and I believe that in order to be the best in something you should train or learn from the Best.

About Mapúa: The school is clean and there are lots of side chairs to sit on. You can spend your time by just sitting down on the corner or at the sides and do something in your own. The people here are pretty serious and the place is always like an active motor at a fast paced environment. Always working, always moving and continuous activities inside the campus as expected from a 4 semesters school. Most of the professors I know here are strict and rugged but I think this is only because they want the students to learn more and develop more our skills.

The facilities are quite good. Every room has it's own air conditioners and whiteboards, projectors and even laptops are also provided on each room to maximize the needs of the students to learn more. Our laboratories has the most updated materials and machines used in laboratory activities. While the gymnasium where different sports and programs are held is even renovated and now it has it's own Air conditions and very nice crowd chairs.

My current job: I am a Civil Engineer at our City. I work under the government so most of my projects are for government purposes. What I do, as a Civil Engineer I design and then construct buildings. But as of now everything I do is for the Country because it's all about Government Projects.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduating in Mapua, I studied again or shall I say Review for 6 months and then took up the Board Exam for Civil Engineers. Even before the Board Exam I already applied for our governments Civil engineer position. So after I passed the board exam I eventually got hired and since then I have been working as our City's Civil Engineer.

Why did I choose this school: This is the leading Engineering school in our country providing board top notchers. They have top class professors which are even known in the public. So I believed this is the best school for computer engineering.

About Mapúa: The place is Great with all the high tech facilities and air-conditioned rooms. They have a complete set of materials and equipment needed for every laboratory activities and especially the professors which are fun to talk with and share great ideas with.

My current job: I work as a Media Center Administrator in a University. I manage the system servers and I do the hourly rounds of troubleshooting computers connected to our server.

How long did it take to find a job: I got hired within 3 months after graduation.

About Mapúa: The professors are finding ways how to integrate the curriculum with our daily lives. They want to make it practical and easy to understand for us.

Sometimes some professors are strict and demanding, but I know it is for our sake. We are strict and demanding nowadays ourselves to junior apprentices. I think we learned it from our mentors

The school is small but conducive to learning. It is cozy and trying to update to the modern times and the needs of the new generation. Before they are renovating but recently I heard they have better facilities. It will add up to the tuition, though but then its more modernized.

We were the first to have the chip inside the ID so we will be identified upon entry. It was cool and we get to boast it to the other schools.

Our school was small but it is complete with enough facilities for our field of study.

My current job: I am now a designer in a construction firm which is family built and owned. It is the product of our hardship and struggle.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me 1 month or less to have a job as an apprentice.

About Mapúa: At first, I never thought that Mapua was such a familiar school when it comes to engineering since I seldom hear it. Like what I have said I came from an all girls school and mostly I hear my batchmates in high school plans on taking nursing (which was very common during that time), doctor, psychologist, etc. Engineering was never heard. Anyway, Mapua had very professional instructors. Sometimes, during classes they teach things by connecting it to our daily lives so it would be much easier to relate with the topic. Most of the professors were approachable. On the first two years, some of my classmates have different courses and we were a block section so we got close to each other. During the last 3 years, my classmates where already with the same course that I had. Since we were few female in our batch, we were also close with each other. The last few years was more fun because we get to know more of our classmates and we had lots of group activities, education or extra-curricular activities like ojt. In our school, they have the different tools and equipments to do our experiments.

My current job: Principal engineer. I do some design, estimate works and site inspection. I also attend meetings with the clients. I also do negotiation and attend biddings.

How long did it take to find a job: I took another degree after I graduated, but I was a working student by then so I guess it was not hard, especially if you have contacts.

Why did I choose this school: Because it is the best Engineering schools in the Philippines.

About Mapúa: The atmosphere in Mapua is good. One thing I like about Mapua is the school is not so big so most of us in our batch know each other at least. Also during lower years in minor subjects, we meet different people from different course which is also good because you got the chance to have connections and friends with other students in other courses which may also be a help when you graduate.
Unlike other schools which implements 2 or 3 semesters, Mapua uses quarter system (only around 11 week per semester) which causes pressure on students specially during what we call "hell week" or the final week. Having quarter semester is really hard but it's really worth it. During my college days, I always complain about this but now as I look back, I can say that the system really helped me and developed me to be what I am now. Because of the system, each student will be trained not only to study hard but also to manage time, be creative or in tagalog "madiskarte", patience, and faithful to God [praying that you'll at least get a grade of 3 :)]. And because of these, students are being prepared for the outside world which is the industry.

Most of the professors are alumni of the institute also which is cool. Also, they are very professional and knowledgeable. Since most of them are Engineers also, they have ideas on what is it working in the industry.

The facilities in Mapua is the best. Yes, there are some areas that needs improvement but I believe they are improving these to the best of their abilities. With respect to the facilities concerning Engineering stuffs like lab, I think, Mapua is the only or the first engineering school which have complete labs which students can do hands on. Because I think some schools don't perform hands on lab (not sure though).

About Mapúa: Almost all the professors I've encountered we're good but since we have limited time, we need extra effort to self study our lessons. Facilities were fine and continue to improve

My current job: My job is as a NOC level 1. Basically we monitor and support employees of our company. Monitor in terms of servers in which we make sure the no servers were down and all connections are working. Support in terms of desktop support for employees within the company.

How long did it take to find a job: I did not find a job right after graduation since I review first in preparation for the board exam. It took 3 months before I got a job starting from the day I started to pass resume online and attend job fairs.

Why did I choose this school: Like my brother he also graduated in Mapua and he graduated on time. So I said to myself if my brother can do it so do I. He took up Architecture and were able to graduate within 5 years and he is now a very succesful architect making designs for high class people. And what else could be the reason but the College school he grasuated from that is why I decided to study in Mapua too hoping I could become a product of another Successful Engineer

About Mapúa: The school's atmosphere is a bit gloomy. The people here are very serious, they are active and lots of programs held but the people are like robots moving in a single direction which means they are all focused on their own business and own activities. The professors in my case where I will relate it to my major subjects are pretty open minded. They share all their experiences, they listen to their students and most of all they let us speak for ourselves and decide for ourselves which makes us Very Independent. The Facilities, concerning our Civil engineering facility are well secured and well maintained. They are all at the right places and the materials are provided upon use only.

My current job: I am a On Call Civil Engineer. It's a contractor type of job as a Civil Engineer.
But most of the time I come along with my Father whenever he has projects that is why I sometimes become his Engineering Assistant

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation it took me more than six months to pass the Licensure Exam for Civil Engineers then after that I applied to my father's company did not get a call for a long time, that is why I applied for a contractor type of job as a Civil Engineer that is why I am an On call civil engineer

About Mapúa: Mapua is equipped with the latest and best facilities. One of the things that we are very proud of is our CIM or Computer Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory. There, we get to program robots and simulate manufacturing or production through the use of robots.

How long did it take to find a job: During the the last finals week of my last term, I already had my contract signing for my first job.

About Mapúa: Mapua Institute of Technology improved a lot than the earlier years. It became a more conducive place to learn. As for the professors, most of them are also graduates of the Institute that's why they are very good in imparting the knowledge they acquire from the Institute.

My current job: Currently I am working as a Design Engineer in an EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) company. My field of work is mainly of oil and gas industry and pipelines. I design pipeline which conforms with existing standards and international standards.

How long did it take to find a job: It didn't took so long for me to find a job. Civil Engineering is so broad that you can find a job anywhere or jobs that are related to it. For me, my job is mainly of mechanical engineering field but civil engineers can fit in too.

Why did I choose this school: I chose Mapua because of it's reputation of being excellent when it comes to engineering programs and also given that my father and sister chose the same school and their experiences are quite pleasant which also attracted me to make the same decision.

About Mapúa: The atmosphere in our school can really influence an individual to study since whenever you look around the campus, you can really see students studying and keeping their selves busy with different stuffs. When it comes to our professors, I can say that most of them really are great especially when it comes to their teaching techniques. In addition to that, they are not only discussing the lessons but they are also sharing lessons in life that we can apply when we are exposed to the real world. As for the facilities, Mapua is a well-equipped school and they provide the students with the needed instruments to perform experiments.

My current job: I don't have a job right now since I am still waiting for my graduation this May 29 but there is a job waiting for me since I had my internship there and they are offering an associate software engineer position.

Why did I choose this school: According to my sources which is primarily my Parents welll my Friends are secondary, Graduates from this Institute may be able to engage in the design and development field, they can also implement and do management of computer systems through the knowledge gained in the study of computer hardware and other computer related stuffs. About Mapúa: The High Technology provided by the Institute to us, the up to date facilites seen around the campus, the machines and computer systems that are well maintained and properly secured for the need of the scheduled classes. Well this is just of the few things the Institute can provide. But there is a thing that I dont like about this school, it is the Quarter system they implement. They are the only College that implements a curriculum like this so we dont like this kind of matter the school gave us

About Mapúa: The ambiance was amazing. Most of the students here are rich kids and and they can really show off a lot. I liked the way that the campus is not that big and the buildings are stock together so we can move freely and closely. The professors were cool too they can do whatever style they want and they teach their students very well.

My current job: I am an Electronics Consultant in a company where I am one of the supervisors in our departments. What I do is what a supervisor does and it requires managerial skills.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me exactly 6 months after graduation. 5 months for the review and licenure exam and after passing the Boards I was hired immediately.

Why did I choose this school: Mapua holds many events especially events that features there automobile racing, car shows, and the event that catches my interest the most is they held a competition of desiging and constructing your own Go To Vehicle depending on your choice. And because of this I decided to enroll here and one day I can join the events and share my knowledge and skills to show to other people what I can do

About Mapúa: The atmosphere is a bit boring on my first few years but as I grow with Mapua I can feel the belongingness. And all of these rises up when the events I am craving for began. I joined the competition and I nailed it. We didn't won any prize but I got to show my skills and I proved to myself I can do it. The professors were very supportive and some even shared there ideas and helped us out

My current job: I am Mechanic of a car company here in Manila. And I am proud of my job not only I am paid good enough, I am also living what I wanted. I do the fixing and construcion of the engines and other mechanical parts of an auto mobile

How long did it take to find a job: It took me about 3 months. After graduating I did not take the board exam anymore I went directly to work for a company and since then I am still here fulltime with good pay.

Why did I choose this school: This was the same school my older brother graduated at, but other than that, I'm always hearing praises for Mapua in terms of Engineering courses and that may be the reason my brother chose this school as well.

About Mapúa: In the campus, I felt free. It felt great not having to follow any specific uniforms and such (unlike other universities) except for our PE uniform. You can stay practically anywhere you wish; outside of classrooms, near the walls, Gym bleachers, libraries (though kind of small). The professors are diversified and very good, but not all of them. Since we're on a Quarter Term system, each term only lasts 11 weeks and this may be too fast for most people. In spite of this, some professors still insist on giving difficult tasks that would normally be given on students enrolled on Semestral systems. There are alot of laboratories in Mapua. I think each course have their own laboratory to use, though the capacity of these laboratories is not enough to accommodate all the students.

This is already considering the great drop of students on batches each year (students immediately transferring to other schools after the first term, or some time in their 1st year).

My current job: Web/Software Developer

How long did it take to find a job: It took me a 18 months to get my job, but I intentionally didn't apply for any job for those 18 months (personal problems). In the company I'm in, I did a walk-in application, took an exam in the very same day, and passed it without studying. This is all thanks to the training Mapua took me on taking exams. I started working 2-3 months later.

Why did I choose this school: It is the best Engineering School in the country. Other schools may be good but Mapua is the best. They produce sought-after graduates here and abroad. Go to Singapore and you'll know what I mean. Nothing beats a diploma from Mapua in this side of the world.

About Mapúa: The ambiance was not stressful at all. Everything is laid back. We don't even have to wear uniforms and after our first semester (they are now on the quarterly system), you get to pick your own schedule. Imagine not having to wake up early because you enjoy staying up late at night. Priceless.

My current job: I'm working as a Master Electrician in an oil tanker.
It may not exactly be what I studied for but it is very much related and the skills that I acquired while studying BS EE are put into good use. The pay is very good too, considering that it is in US Dollars and I get to visit countries for free.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me roughly six months to decide on which job to take. That's a benefit of studying in Mapua. You don't find a job. It finds you. Even while ding your OJTs you'll already get job offers. I chose to work abroad (or specifically, aboard) since it offers the best pay and a wealth of experience.

About Mapúa: Atmosphere: Its nice to study here the place and area is not too big so I can really go to my classes swiftly and there are no other areas to hang out but the chosen areas where students hang out often.

About Mapúa: Atmosphere is good, it's not a very big school or university but it's a clean school. Good place to study

Not all professors are good, but there are a lot of great professors that you can learn a lot to. You will get inspired with their stories and real life experiences with the industry. Every professor have different takes on how they teach the subject so it depends. Some professors are considerate with their students but they do not let the quality of education to suffer.

I can say that my school have great facilities. I know that our laboratory equipments are advanced which is very good for learning. It actually makes me proud and happy that the school is very equipped making it ABET accredited.They also make sure that these equipments are updated to ensure quality education

About Mapúa: The atmosphere is quite good. Its only a small campus with two buildings and an average sized parking area for car parks and other activities held by the school. And the people here are pretty much busy on their daily works and activities meaning it's all for themselves like mind your own business type.

The professors, well I would be lying I will say that All the professors here are Great! Well to be honest some of the professors were really great and are awesome professors the way they deliver their lesson the way they handle their class, and especially the way they communicate to everyone even if we are outside the Classroom. They are really professionals but also very Friendly and approachable even outside the Class. But Most of the professors well as expected you cannot have everything perfectly fit. They are Timid, Snubbish, Very Serious and not at all friendly towards other people.

The facilities, well as far as I have been studying there most of it are Very Good. All rooms are airconditioned and the equipments that are provided for students are top notched and high quality as well so yes it's been a great experience studying their

Why did I choose this school: Choosing Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) as a school where you will study electrical engineering is like choosing adobo when being asked for a known Filipino dish. This is because MIT is one of the best and most prestigious schools when it comes to engineering. When people hear engineering in the Philippines, most usually associate it with MIT.

About Mapúa: The atmosphere was very technical in a way that you almost already feel how it feels like to be an engineer because of the subjects you study and the conversations you have with engineers/professors and older students from technical organizations within the school.

The professors were mostly graduates of the said school which makes it easier for them to help the students learn more since they have already experienced being students of Mapua.

My current job: As of now I am unemployed because I am taking care of my toddler.

How long did it take to find a job: I graduated on May 2005 and took up the licensure exam on September 2005, then I applied for a job after knowing that I passed the exam and eventually got employed on January 2006.

Why did I choose this school: Because my friends and my high school classmates told me that this is the best engineering school if I wanted to be an Engineer. It has all the necessary equipment and has the state of the art equipment as well. Specially in terms of doing engineering Works and activities this school has it all. SO I chose this!

About Mapúa: Atmosphere, I do not actually like it. I do not like the area as well it's just not so friendly like. Although the facilities and the equipment are great. The professors are called the terrors, most are scary, arrogant, and even disrespectful sometimes when it comes to teaching they are pretty awesome you can sense that they are intelligent beings and really knows what they are doing. They are pretty good at what they are doing as a Profession. The Facilities like I said before and as I expected are state of the art. And it's like they have the complete set of materials for every engineering work and activity needed. I also like the area where they are palced. Pretty good ideas as well. To graduate in mapua you should know how to communicate well with other people.

My current job: I don't really have a Professional Job yet, because I havent passed the board exam. But we have a Family business and I help out my father and mother on it. So since my graduation I am all about Business. I am a very business minded person
