Why did I choose this school:
Mapua is well known as a Cisco-partner. Since I love networking, and also since I knew networking was my calling ever since my high school days, what better choice of a school could be there aside from one who is partnered with a company that is well-known as one of the premiere when it comes to networking?
About Mapúa Makati:
Mapua Makati is very different from Mapua Intra. First off, it is important to note that all other non-engineering (except psychology) courses are NOT located at Intramuros - they are all at Makati. With this in mind, I will now proceed to describe my school.
The location of Mapua Makati was once the location of an RCBC branch. So, the whole campus, parking excluded, is air conditioned. It's a somewhat closed-air atmosphere. Since it was a bank, the office atmosphere is present when you come in.
The professors know well what they are supposed to teach. Seldom do you see a professor teaching a subject that is not related to his major.
The facilities are well-kept. There are numerous computer labs, which has a one-to-one ratio of person and computer. There are also places to socialize. Two of the most prominent places are the lounge and the lobby. When you tap in your id, the first area you will be in is the lobby, where you will see students just about anywhere and everywhere. Next, the lounge. Before entering the lounge, there is a large space with a whole body mirror. For reasons, this place just before entering the lounge is the favorite "tambayan" of students.
My current job:
I am currently a network engineer.
Network engineers are responsible for connecting networks. In layman's term, a network engineer is someone who helps you to access the Internet: Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, etc... We are the ones who "connect" you to others, through the use of electronic devices.
How long did it take to find a job:
Thanks to JobStreet, and also to my CCNA-certification, it just took me 2 weeks to get a job after my graduation
