About LPU Manila: I'm very happy that was able to study at a top university in the country. It's located in Intramuros. It's environment is not as busy as let's say U-Belt, which I prefer of course. Besides, isn't it nice that your school is situated inside or at least new a very historic place? Well I think it's really awesome. It's cool to see the carinderias incorporated in the old structures of the place. While you're eating and enjoying the fresh air or Manila, you also get reminded of the nice history of the Philippines. Don't we all love educational things. As for the facilities of my university, I wouldn't consider them as state-of-the-art, but they are functional and appropriate for the respective courses.

How long did it take to find a job: After I graduated, I applied at a travel agency and got hired after right away. It didn't take me more than two months to get my first job.

Why did I choose this school: Proud to say that the achievements of our School and accreditation made me feel secured. Secured in a way that what we are paying for is worth it.

About LPU Manila: The main campus is not really ideal for it is not that spacious and since the main campus is situated at Intramuros, as what I heard before the reason why they do not want to renovate it is because they want to preserve the historical value of the building. And I find it just fine. :)

I am really baffled with the professors I met. Education background, experiences and their competencies, I am definitely awed. And if you say value for money for paying high tuition fees, it's worth it.

Well ventilated classrooms with LCD and Projector (not every classroom but before I left most the classroom have), A hall where you can gather two thousand students (more or less) for special events and that's our JPL Freedom Hall, Mabini Hall for open exhibits or any event that does not required that privacy cause you want exposure, a Canteen, yes I mean "a" cause we only have one, but no worries cause there are lots of good mini cafeterias outside (we have the very famous Walls and Canton-an beside Mapua). Le Cafe where it is our campus restaurant operated by the students. We have mini hotel at the 5th floor where you can practice your Front Office skills and House Keeping skills as well, it has two rooms for learning the basic house keeping and as well a reception for your Front Office practices. We also have there ample laboratories for your culinary and baking practices and don't worry about the ingredients cause it's already at your working station, compared to any other university where you have to provide on your own. I also remember doing coffee, cocktails and mocktails at our mock bar room dedicated only for beverage training. And who can forget that room? Cause in that classroom we were able to taste and differentiate types of wines, spirits and a whole lot more about alcoholic beverages.

Facilities wise I can say right after graduating at 2012 (supposed to be 2011 but been out of the country for International Practicum) the University has been dedicated in the continuous improvement of the facilities like the Bay Leaf Hotel where it functions as a real operating hotel where students can practice what they are learning from school, a chance for them to further flourish and unleash their talents plus the LPU Culinary Institute that is now operating, I can say WOW. :) Lucky are those who has the Dusit Thani College Curriculum.

My current job: I am currently working as a Waitress at Emirates First Class Lounge at Dubai International Airport- A Gates the home of 380 Flights. :)

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation I rested for quite some time but when I applied for this Job that I currently have it took 3 month to process all the Visa's and other stuffs.
This is my first real job after my Internship in Singapore and considering the required experience of at least 2yrs in the same field I am lucky enough to be considered on this job for the experience that I have is only my Internship.

About LPU Manila: I was very fortunate to be taught by professors, whose teaching was their second career. They worked from respected media entities. One advantage of having professors who worked in the media is that they know exactly what they are teaching. If the textbook will teach you how to write news, the well-experienced media practitioner will teach how to be enterprising, how to chase and sniff the news, where to get it, how to get it. They will orient you by giving you an idea of what to expect in the "real world" and give you sound advises. Somehow, my professors, who happened to be media people, gave me a glimpse of the "media culture" which I have embraced in the later years.

If you are an incoming college, when inquiring for a university you may include interviewing the dean (much better) or any staff in the university or colleges about the professors who are teaching there and their past careers. E. g. if a professor teaching Journalism had been a reporter in a newspaper, for me it is a plus because he knows exactly what he is teaching. You can be sure that students will be taught not just from the textbooks but also a real-life work.

The location of the university is good. It is far from the bustling and hurried atmosphere of Manila streets. However, it is a walking distance to bus and jeepney stations. Very accessible. Plus, you get to enjoy walking in the cobbled stone streets of Intramuros. The presence of old buildings, the well-preserved Parian is like having a little tour during the Spanish era. Although there were some time that I have witnessed fraternity wars, violent student demonstrations, fracas, these were unusual occurrences. I would say it was generally peaceful when I was there.

In College of Arts and Sciences, we were lacking of good facilities. We have to rent a studio or radio booth outside our school so we can complete our required productions project. We have to use other professional photographer's studio and darkroom so we can develop our stills. Yes, we were at that time using films and we get to develop it manually all by ourselves. I think it was also an advantage to use facilities outside the school because you get oriented with the latest productions tools and meet the man on the ground who are knowledgeable in the job.

My current job: I am currently a freelance writer. I write news and feature articles for an online community news in Pasadena, California.

How long did it take to find a job: About a year.

About LPU Manila: I am proud graduate of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila because it is well known in Foreign Service field. most of their International Relations alumni are Ambassadors. International Relations college managed by our dean, Ambassador Arcilla designed our curriculum and training very well. He employed former Ambassadors as our faculty. Thus our knowledge came from experienced Ambassadors. Also our college provided us the best reference (books) for our lessons and symposiums, film showings and talks.

Why did I choose this school: I chose this school beside that my brothers and sister studied in this school, but because I know it is one of the major school that's giving the finest graduates that can get jobs in the future.

About LPU Manila: The atmosphere is very good and ambiance is far from the pollution coming from the vehicle passing by the roads, I can say it's safe because it's protected by the intramuros walls and you'll be able to meet make friends from the neighbor schools around, you can roam around if you want to review the lessons and want to be alone because there's a lot to go to and be at peace.

The professors, I can say that as far as what I've experienced I've never encountered a professor that is tardy or just playing around when it comes from lessons is concerned there's a joke time by seriousness on the subject will pursue at the end of the entire lesson and though there's a competition among the co students I can say professors are not bias and will push them to study harder and got good grades.

My current job: Right now I'am a freelancer in oDesk and as a freelancer I got to work for editing advertisements, Data Entry for the certain company and got to work for Newsletters etc.

How long did it take to find a job: I think it take only a month for me to have a job.

Why did I choose this school: I was offered a full scholarship as long as I can maintain the required grades. The fact that it had a good population of ladies taking up foreign service studies did not hurt either.

About LPU Manila: Back then, the university enjoyed a reputation as a hub for free-thinkers. I found it had a liberal and easygoing air that encouraged students organizing for common interests. I joined the debate team and became pretty good at it.

The instructors were pretty good, many having been members of the faculty for close to a decade.

My current job: I have been a newspaper journalist for the past 17 years and yes, studying Political Science was a great help.

How long did it take to find a job: Got my first job just weeks after the semester ended but it was as ambient air quality technician for a multinational environment/engineering firm. I believe I was able to sweet talk the people there into hiring me. I got pretty good at it too.

About LPU Manila: Lyceum is not bad at all. I found it very inviting to study. There, are places in the university that surely accommodating for each of student. Facilities? Good but not the best I guess there's no perfect school in the Philippines that offers a very best facilities. But Lyceum had a good atmosphere.

* You'll spend abig amount of money because in the cantene plenty of delicious food are available to buy.

About LPU Manila: Well my school is just fine, nothing special. The campus is not that big so students are overcrowded.

Almost all the professor I've encounter were very nice. They were very considerate to us students.

Classrooms were still the same as when I first entered this school. The computer rooms and the air-conditioned improved last year. It was nice that the canteen was renovated, but the meals that they were serving were not satisfying. The good thing is that the whole campus is the wifi zone.
