Course description:
Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science / Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology is a four year program which deals with the application of theoretical knowledge in performing diagnostic procedures on blood samples, tissue specimens and other body fluids through the use of instruments and various techniques.

The second semester of the fourth year level is the internship program in an accredited training laboratory with rotational duties in the different sections such as Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology, Immunology and Serology, Urinalysis and Body Fluids, Parasitology and Histopathologic Techniques.

WHAT DOES A MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST DO?
A Medical Laboratory Scientist work behind the scenes of patient care in laboratories. They perform microscopic and chemical tests on blood, tissues and other body fluids in order to provide the physicians the information needed in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

Most Medical Laboratory Scientists / Medical Technologists work in hospitals, physician’s offices and private laboratories, Medical Lab Scientists / Med Techs also find challenging employment in other areas. Other career options include:
