X close Midwifery Duration: 2 years Course description: Midwifery is a health care profession where providers offer care to childbearing women during pregnancy, labor and birth, and the postpartum period. They also care for the newborn through to six weeks of age, as well as assisting the mother with breastfeeding. Midwives may also offer inter-conceptional care including well-woman care. A practitioner of midwifery is known as a midwife, a term used in reference to both women and men. Midwives are autonomous practitioners who are specialists in low-risk pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. They generally strive to help women have healthy pregnancy and natural birth experience. Midwives are trained to recognize and deal with deviations from the norm. Midwives refer women to general practitioners or obstetricians when a pregnant woman requires care beyond the midwives' area of expertise. Admission Requirements - Foreign Students:
Foreign students must satisfy the entrance requirements prescribed for the courses they want to take. They shall have obtained their previous training in institutions of recognized standing. Even then, they will be admitted only if there are still unfilled slots in the college of their choice. Foreign students desiring to enroll in any college must first obtain a clearance from the Department of Education and should apply for admission with the Office of the Dean. They should send their Transcript of Records or other credentials pertinent to their educational background for evaluation purposes. Moreover, they should wait for a reply from the Dean before working in their travel papers.

In addition to the conditions for admission of a foreign student into any degree program provided by law and the policies and rules of the Commission, it must be shown that the foreign student has the means sufficient to support his education or study in the Philippines (Section 82, CHED, Manual of Regulations for Private Higher Education).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

A copy of the Certificate of Eligibility for Admission (CEA) together with the Certificate of Acceptance from the College Registrar will be sent to the applicant. In accordance with the regulations set forth by CHED and other agencies supervising foreign students, no foreign student shall be allowed to enroll unless he can submit a valid permit to study, verified Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) and a student visa before the Office of the Registrar & Director of Admissions.

It is also a must for foreign students to present the Transcript of Records including the course description of the subjects taken including the number of hours completed and the grades of each subject area. These documents must be sent directly to DMC CF in a school sealed envelope.

For Philippine Resident Alien Students

Philippine resident alien students must submit before the Office of the Registrar and Director of Admissions, three (3) photocopied copies of their Alien Certificate of Registration (ACR) with the original copy of the same for verification.

For Naturalized Filipino Citizens

Naturalized Filipino citizens must submit a copy of their Identification Certificate issued and authenticated by the Commissioner of Immigration.
