Course description:
The Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science (PhDCS) Program is designed to train students to conduct independent research in Computer Science. Courses are organized around a specialized research area to provide the student with the ability to publish in national and international refereed scientific venues in his/her chosen field of specialization.

Admission requirements:
• an MS degree in Computer Science with a research-based thesis

• a GPA of at least 80% or equivalent in the MS course;

• at least three (3) years of teaching and/or research experience in computer science or a related field; and

• for foreign applicants from non-English speaking countries, a TOEFL score of at least 550.

Admission to the program shall be upon the approval of the Graduate Studies Committee. The Graduate Studies Committee shall have the option of scheduling a formal interview with the applicant where, at the discretion of the committee, the applicant may be asked to present his research-based Master’s thesis or a research- based paper published in a national or international refereed CS conference.
