Why did I choose this school:
They say you need to go for a prestigious university in order for you to get a job. You have to take a literal blood and sweat sacrifices to be able to earn not just a tuition fee but your benefactor like scholarship programs in order for you to maintain getting electronic access for the well-known libraries, experienced high-quality facilities and education teaching in a private university or world ranking university like University of the Philippines, Ateneo De Manila University or other university in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. But I beg to disagree. I know State University specifically Bulacan State University (BulSU) located at the Heart of Bulacan, City of Malolos also excel in other university and have the capacity to transform me as a professional someday. Though I passed in University of the East in Manila, I still choose to go in BulSU as a stepping stone in my journalist profession someday for I know that BulSU aiming for it's improving stage to identify
About Bulacan State University:
With the 35,000 population of the school, a quality ambiance will not always guarantee.
When I started to know my Mass Communication professors, I begin to realize the status quo of my knowledge. They are the mirror of the industry who really taught me to embrace my course, think for my financial benefits and love my strengths and weakness. My gratitude to Dr. Romulo Mercado, the director of Pacesetter, Mr. Marlon Santos, my thesis adviser, Mr. Regemrei Bernadro, my Advertising and Photography professor and Mr. Romulo Maturingan, my Radio Writing and Television Writing instructor who shows me the real significance of Media in the society and also all of my professors from first year up to fourth year who never fails to nurture my skills in my profession. They are really the best one.
On the other side, my learning experience in my bachelor degree will never be possible without all the facilities, equipment and important functional devices that I utilized for our own sake. I will not deny the fact that as State University with it's small tuition fee ranging from seven up to two thousand, good facility will always quiet far to achieve. Drainage was not properly administered that caused severe flood in the entire university. Enrollment is manual with no online registration and BulSUans suffer a lot to wait two to three hours in the long lane. Classrooms were not enough for 60:1 ratio that is why most of them were studying along the corridor or outside the buildings. There were no proper ventilation in the classrooms and buildings were not enough to sustain the teaching needs of the Deans and professors in their respective colleges. But despite of all of the hindrances that the Faculty encountered in maintaining good facilities, they never stop to find alternative ways to satisfy their needs. As an evidence, they raised funds through concert for a cause, funds from income generated projects and exchange students who give scholar and fund for the equipment and facility of the school. Library in every colleges were properly administered and there were still places to be rest socialize like the lover’s lane, LRT lane, Student’s Area, Heroes Park, Wifi Area and Rizal Park. Activity Center and Valencia Hall also serves as the stage place for BulSUans to showcase their talents, organized events and some event proper. Bulacan State University is a living proof of institution that there is alternative system to cope up the striving development of facilities in the State Universities.
My current job:
I am currently working as a Faculty Researcher under Research and Development Office in La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) Malolos Campus.
My job is to conduct at least two studies every school semester for the development and improvement of the institution and also, I have to gather research study for the proposed projects presented in the Administration of LCUP. I was still under probationary and my evaluation was based under my performance for the school year 2014-2015.
How long did it take to find a job:
After I graduated last March 31, I decided to attend job fairs and send online applications in different media related companies. For almost one month, I was fortunate to hired be as Program Researcher in GMA News TV specifically the Unang Hirit Program and State of the Nation with Jessica Soho but I choose to work in LCUP as a Faculty Researcher and I my contract started last May 16, 2014 for I know that there are lots of opportunities in the field and I have a chance to publish my study internationally if I work hard on it.
