Course description:
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) is focused on the acquisition of theory and application of technical competencies associated with the information technology profession. The course prepares students with fundamental knowledge in core technologies, such as systems analysis and design, programming, database design, network architecture and administration, Web technologies and application development, implementation and maintenance.
Program / Departmental Objectives
The educational objectives of the BSIT program are as follows:
1. To provide our graduates with the competencies and knowledge that will equip them for productive careers and professional roles in the field of Information Technology.
2. To maintain a diverse student population and actively promote an environment in which students from all groups, most especially the under-privileged, may successfully pursue the study of Information Technology.
3. Communicate effectively as an IT professional with users, peers, and higher management and be able to work effectively on teams, whether as a participant or as a leader.
4. Demonstrate ethical behavior as an IT professional and sensitivity to the impact of technology on society.
5. Allow students to pursue and successfully complete an advanced degree if desired.
