Duration: 5 years
Course description:
The computer engineering program provides a practical and theoretical background in computer hardware, software, interfacing and design. Areas of interest to computer engineers range from circuit theory to digital signal processing to the study of software/hardware interfaces to the design and analysis of hardware systems and devices. Emphasis is placed on the development of problem-solving skills through hands-on laboratory experience with commercial electronic design software and hardware systems. These skills prepare computer engineers for various academic and industrial positions.
The program also seeks to cater the government's need for scientific and technological expertise to augment it's efforts in nation building, as well as heed the nation's call for more responsible professionals who are globally competitive.
Program / Departmental Objectives:
The educational objectives of the BSCpE program are as follows:
1. To equip students with the necessary background, competencies and technical knowledge for successful careers in Computer Engineering.
2. To prepare students for careers and/or graduate education in computer engineering.
3. To develop skills for clear communication and responsible teamwork, and to foster professional attitudes and awareness of the benefits of life-long learning.
4. Provide a learning environment that is based on open interaction with experienced faculty and staff and a curriculum that is dynamic, rigorous, and innovative.
