Why did I choose this school: Because it's the only maritime school in manila that can provide me with the knowledge I need to be a competent maritime personnel.

About AIMS: Our school also has state of the art facilities including ships bridge and engine simulator, laboratory and workshops. Our libraries are also filled with textbook that are relevant with our courses and curriculum. Out school is not that big like the other school but it has enough space to accommodate all the students and all activities that is being conducted inside our campus.

Socializing in our school is not that bad you cannot expect to much from a school dominated by boys to be that socially active.

My current job: A sailor, but with the safety equipment maintenance added. To be exact imagine a man driving a motor boat. In my case multiply the size of that boat by thousand times.

How long did it take to find a job: Two months.

About AIMS: With no prejudice involved, the atmosphere in the school is a combination of both positive and a negative note where consequently, the students may either cope up with in it's environment or the other way around. But on a personal point of view, atmosphere in this institution is bearable but it is not a perfect example for conducive learning.

The professors lacks in dedication, experience, and the devotion in teaching. Most, if not all, professors do not possess the passion in teaching, particularly those that are in technical subjects. You will feel their impression of either them having no other choice that’s why they resort to teaching due to some personal reasons or what have they.

The institution couldn’t invest in any facility particularly those that are related to maritime courses. Consequently, the institution lacks big time in terms of providing a hundred percent quality education to students due to the absence of these said facilities which is supposedly for the betterment of their students.

My current job: Senior Analyst for an American HR, payroll, benefits and taxation solution center. I did not pursue this career due to the fact that I really didn’t want to become a seafarer – I was just left with no other choice but to take up this field just to finish schooling.

How long did it take to find a job: The profession that I’m in doesn’t take me that long in getting a job. But my colleagues (who also took the same field/course) took them about a year or so before they ended up having a job – and it’s a contractual based kind of profession which only lasts for about a couple of months.

About AIMS: The professors are very professional. They are very fit for the courses as they are a graduate of the same course. The atmosphere is great because it is like your second home. The facilities are fine and complete.
