Why did I choose Accounting Technology: Actually I was an Accountancy student in this University for 4 straight years, until I failed for the first time during my last year and I thought I had my parents expecting me to graduate on that year but I can tell that if I will proceed, I would have a hard time meeting the expectations of my parents so I decided to shift a course and that's when I took my BS in Accounting Technology course.


About my college education: Basically, I learned a lot of Accounting theories and it's application. I was able to develop my logical, analytical, and critical thinking. I was able to learn most on the financial side of a business/organization. I have gained insights on how to deal with financial and managerial issues.

My current job: I am currently employed as a Junior Auditor at Ford-Davao. I am particularly in-charge to look upon the Sales operations of the company and conduct timely Audits across all branches in Mindanao.

Am I using what I learned in college: Of course the theory in auditing. I was able also to use for now my analytical skills and even a little bit of my knowledge in accounting.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me only five days to find my first job after graduation. It is my third job though.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: Actually, there are no perfect fit course to take in order to secure a job someday. It might help in terms of the choice of track you would want to pursue but it really boils down to your eagerness to make an effort on finding one.
BS in Accounting Technology is a good choice if you want to engage yourself in the world of finance or auditing. Think of it carefully and make sure you choose what your heart truly desires.

Why did I choose Accounting Technology: Since I was a child, I always imagined myself working in an office set-up. I also like math, problem solving, analysis etc. This course as well provides bigger scope of job opportunities.

About my college education: I studied BS in Accountancy until 3rd year, then shifted to BS in Accounting Technology on order to graduate immediately, without the need to do a 5th year and a board exam.
This is a challenging course but fulfilling at the time you pass each subjects.
Audit probably is the most difficult subject. Most students failed in that subject.
In order to succeed, you need to be a person who likes to solve analytical problems.

My current job: Currently, I am an Accounting Supervisor of a BPO company wherein the owner is based in Belgium and Netherlands.

Am I using what I learned in college: Yes, my job plays a very significant role in the company and I am really grateful that I chose this course.
Even the basic accounting 1 provides help in my job.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me 1 month after graduation to find my current job, but while I was on my last semester, I took a job in a small accounting firm as staff.

Do I recommend studying Accounting Technology: It has big scope for employment opportunities with a high level of salary.

Why did I choose Accounting Technology: Today, businesses is fast growing and as a student I am aiming for a great opportunity in the future. Accountancy has been demanded nowadays.

About my college education: BS in Accounting Technology was a tough course. Analyzing the problems of companies, assuming the situations which need to comprehend. Though it is difficult, it is enjoyable, such as problem solving aspects. The class sometimes gets boring, because we need to be serious. Though it is boring sometimes in class, it is interesting to know how to handle problems in companies in future. The traits and attitude to consider is to be patients, and have a quick analytical skills.

My current job: I am a online marketer and multitag data encoder in an outsourcing website.

Am I using what I learned in college: Yes. Entry data in accounts.

How long did it take to find a job: I took it for days.

Do I recommend studying Accounting Technology: In terms of Employment, BS in Accounting Technology has great opportunity. The salary will be a great prospect.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: The will to learn is the best advice, because willingness will help a person to achieve want you want.

Why did I choose Accounting Technology: More job opportunities and better salary.

About my college education: The most difficult subject for me were financial accounting 1 and 2. Passing the exams was difficult that is why some students tend to shift to another course like marketing or finance. Discipline and hard work are required to be able to succeed this course.

My current job: A bookkeeper in an auditing firm.

How long did it take to find a job: Two months

Do I recommend studying Accounting Technology: BS in Accounting Technology is good course, because nowadays lots of companies need to at least one auditor or bookkeeper per company.

10,000 basic salary pay, and to more experienced employee about 15,000 and above.

Why did I choose Accounting Technology: I was once a BS Accountancy student but I failed to pass the retention policy of our University. I chose this course because I think this would be the best way to pursue my dream to become a Certified Public Accountant.

About my college education: I learned in this course that you have to strive harder to pass the subject. For me, the most difficult subject was accounting. Passing exams were difficult if you did not study well or cannot understand the lesson. We should be hardworking and not easy to give up to succeed in this course.

My current job: Accounting clerk

Am I using what I learned in college: Report all the transactions of the business.
