Why did I choose Marketing Management: Actually, I started as a Civil Engineering student for two years. But as it hit me, that course does not really fit my skills. So I shifted courses to pursue a degree in Marketing Management.

About my college education: Each and every subject are what every student will encounter when they graduate and meet the real world, and that is the most important thing. Students should experience real-life situations in a simulated environment such as classrooms for them to learn effectively. I know I had, and I am really thankful I experienced and learned as soon as possible.

I can say shifting to marketing management was one of the best life decisions I ever had. I did not see class as a burden but as a journey, as it suits my skills like a glove fits my hands. Seamlessly, I finished the course for only two and a half years, coping up for lost time I had during my Civil Engineering class stint.

My current job: Currently, I am a Sales and Dealer Development Coordinator for the Power Products Department of Honda Philippines, Inc.

Basically, I am in-charge for the operations of Power Products for Region 11 and 12. Me and my team visit Farms, Fishing villages, and Construction sites to conduct demos and promote the products. I also make proposals, present to Top Japanese Management, and implement whatever promos our local partner dealers will be conducting.

Am I using what I learned in college: Technical and working attitude. Skills such as analytical skills and critical thinking were really be sharpened in college. Also, attitude towards working with other people, or even working alone, was developed in college.

How long did it take to find a job: Even before I graduate, I already worked for a national company, Unilab Foundation, as their Mindanao Representative to promote their community outreach programs. After I graduated, I worked as a Medical Representative for a start-up pharmaceutical company for a year. Then after is when I was hired at Honda Philippines, Inc.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: In studying Business Administration, the opportunities are limitless. In my case, I worked from Pharmaceutical to Machinery industry. How did I do it? My course is, if not, the most flexible course available out there. You can basically sell anything and everything under the sun. May it be local or international, you will always have an opportunity to work and grow as a professional and a person.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: Learn as much as possible, as fast as possible. Companies are expanding every year. As I always say, SEIZE EVERY OPPORTUNITY. Also, try to pursue further education. As much as possible, pursue a Master's Degree course that is either align with your college course (I'm currently pursuing an MBA Degree) or align with your current work (If you work for the government, you may also consider Master's Degree in Public Administration). Whichever path you take, always look for yourself to be developed. Immerse yourself in seminars to make yourself more competitive and appraise your value.

About my college education: I really love my course and my school. It was a lot of fun. It's like a roller coaster ride wherein I've encountered ups and downs, success and failure but overall a satisfying experience and memories that I will not forget for the rest of my life.
My course has taught me to become versatile, friendly and creative. I remember the project that my professor in Marketing ordered us to do, that is to create a unique profitable service that will appeal to PUPIAN students. It started when I was 3rd year college. What I did was to form a group and build up my idea of having a massage center in our school with a twist, wherein instead of massaging them personally we got the help of Garra Ruffa fish, a therapeutic tiny fish that will help to clean your body by eating your dead cells. As a result, it clicks with all the students cause us to become the talk of the campus since that was new to them and there's a point of curiosity that leads them to try the service. For me that was one of my unforgettable moments in college that I need to do in order to pass my major subject in Marketing. That activity helps me to become more futuristic, think out of the box attitude, flexible and hard working. All in all, I can say that my course fits me because it represents myself and it helps me to grow my inner and outer potential.

My current job: I am a Sales and Marketing Assistant in Philprime Global Corporation. We are in the field of construction and earned already a respectable 40 years in the industry. As an assistant, my job is to coordinate and deal to a lot of people both to the clients and personnel. My job allows me to gain a technical knowledge that belongs for a civil engineer. Since our clients are mainly engineers I need to know all the things to our products because I am handling the phonecall inquiries, sometimes I even go to the project site just to offer our products to our clients like my experience of going to Bataan, Batangas and Cavite wherein I can say that the experience is truly worthwhile. I am so happy that I am employed to this company.

Am I using what I learned in college: Absolutely, what I learned to our university was really practical. Now that I am a career woman now there is the time wherein I think what we did on our college days was tougher than in the reality. On our college days we need to come up with a unique ideas that will improve the marketability of a certain company but now in my work even small ideas, not that so unique, it was very valued and considered already a bright idea. Meaning life in the business world was so easy, just be imaginative and creative.

How long did it take to find a job: It took only 2 and a half months when I employed to my first job. At first I tried to the industry of telecommunication and banking but I failed to get the job there because maybe, really not meant to be. Others offered me a high salary but requires a pressured schedule and toxicating kind of work wherein at the end of the day I refused with the offer.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: My answer here is A BIG YES! Of course, I will recommend the course of Business Administration Major in Marketing Management as a one of a great course to incoming college students. The reasons are, aside from the fact that it will open a lot of opportunities for them, it is also an interesting subject that allows students to experience a lot of things like building a creative career path of them, become socialized, learned to value and express the talents they have and so much more. Actually after graduation, we could easily seek jobs since the course was very versatile. We could line ourselves to the different vacant position in the industry. So therefore I highly recommend this course to all students who will be a college student this coming school year.

Why did I choose Marketing Management: I chose this program not only because I want to gain knowledge and gain a bachelor degree but because I know that this program can help me to become more confident in every aspects of my life. I know that this program can teach me more things that I am not yet aware and help me to fully understand what marketing is.

About my college education: Taking marketing management course is not easy, but as semester goes by I already feel how interesting and how fun this course was. There are a lot of things that I learned and a lot of knowledge gained. I've learned how to deal with different kinds of people with different kinds of traits.
To be able to be successful in this course, you should be patient and love what you are doing. You should not only absorb what you have learned but you should put it into practice. And lastly you should love and have passion on what you are doing so that you can be able to achieve your success.

My current job: I am a project employee in one of the branch of Malayan Insurance Company, Inc.

Am I using what I learned in college: I used some of the things that I learned in college in my current job. I can now understand and handle different clients with different traits. I can able to promote the services that our company offers.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me 10 months before I find a job after graduation because there are a lot of considerations that I should consider.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: Yes I will recommend this course to others in terms of employment opportunities because this course can give us a lot and better opportunities. And lastly, I will recommend this course because in marketing you will not on gain a lot of knowledge but also we can earn a lot of money as long as we are eager, patient and hardworking.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: The advice that I can give to people who are considering studying this program, you should understand every single thing that you are gaining. You should take every thing seriously and with love. You should learn and understand how to deal with different types of customers because they are very important in every business. And lastly, just enjoy and love every thing in this course.

Why did I choose Marketing Management: During my last year in high school I wasn't decided yet as to what course to take in college. I wanted to take up interior design, I know I have this creativity in me but I am not confident enough to take fine arts as a course. I also tried child development courses which I passed with a school that has expensive tuition fees. I think the deal breaker was to get a course wherein I don't have to worry much on the expenses and where I can land a job in a variety of industry and that is to take up Commerce/business administration.

About my college education: I learned a lot from school. Marketing theories strategies etc. The subject I enjoyed the most are my business communication subjects. Wherein I got a perfect score in one of the prelim exam. I enjoyed the interaction among the students and the idea of communicating to real institutions and companies to be able to get the assignments done. Some exams are difficult to pass but nobody had to repeat the subject. Self motivation is I think a good attitude that will get you through any course in your college life.

My current job: I am now a stay at home mom for a month, but my most recent job was a Marketing assistant position for a distribution company.
I was assigned to be Marketing assistant for an incoming sports brand here in the country. I have to take care of all the marketing programs for the brand, in-store and online. I also handle the social media accounts of this brand and partnership with bloggers and celebrities as well as sports enthusiast. I do competitor reports and market research for the brand.

Am I using what I learned in college: I honestly think that I wasn't able to apply things that was taught during college, or maybe I wasn't aware that I am already doing it. What I am quite sure is that all the activities and knowledge from my school and the fact that my school was one of the top schools in the country made me more confident to face the job interviews; and that confidence gave me an edge in making things work when you already got the job.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me four months after graduation to land a job.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: I recommend BSBA Marketing Management because I believe it will give you a vast opportunity to work in different industries after graduation.
Salary wise, it depends on which company and what industry. Fresh graduates usually get minimum wage but it gets better once you are an experienced employee.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: You have to have the heart and determination to pass everything. Equipped yourselves with an open mind and positive attitude because most of the students taking this course are competitive and outgoing.

About my college education: As Marketing and Advertising Students, creativity and organization of thoughts is a must, but most of the time these things are easily learned or developed. Since marketing and advertising is also a business course, it also involves computation subjects as it's minors and frankly I've been seeing a lot of students excelling in their majors but failing in their minors such as algebra and statistics. Time management and day-to-day planning is essential not only for this subject but for everything else.

My current job: I am a copywriter

Am I using what I learned in college: Yes. The marketing and advertising department faculty did a great job in aligning me to this certain skill. They taught the does and don'ts in writing a tagline, slogan or any certain phrase that includes branding. They were very particular in punctuations which at first I found very irritating and useless, but know I am grateful since I've been using it almost everyday.

How long did it take to find a job: About 3 months, more or less

Do I recommend studying BSBA in Marketing and Advertising: I'd recommend it for employment opportunities, fulfilling/interesting career, and salary level.

Being a Marketer gives you that advantage of being flexible in all other fields of profession. Marketing itself is really broad and there are many professions under it as well. Its a fulfilling career in the sense that you won't really get tired of seeing your work come to life, commercials, radio ad, print ad. Its just something that you'd be proud of every time it's out there. Good marketers and advertisers are still in demand out there. Until the day comes when people are satisfied with everything they got and no longer need or want anything else, then Marketers and Advertisers will still always be a need or want in the job market as well. Nobody could build a technology to replace human creativity.

Why did I choose Marketing Management: Because this is my passion, I found myself challenge with this course, since I've been exposed to business world when at a young age. I love dealing with people.

About my college education: I learned that marketing course is merely a strategy and innovation, that you need to identify the unending needs and wants of a customers, who have different interest and preferences, how can you satisfy them with your service and products offered is the big challenge. That the 4'ps of marketing are essential in one's business which include the product, place, price, promotion. How you create and come up of idea on how a products or services can be beneficial to customers to make their life easy and save time for them. The efficient and effective way of using services and products and how you can delight them in higher degree.

The most difficult challenge was to innovate products from scrap. So we come up with corn husk we made basket, coin purse, bags and different sizes and designs.

The most enjoyable moment was to sell those products in affordable prices, professors, teachers, students appreciated our works and luckily with hardship we passed our thesis because this a big chance that we can graduate in this field of course.

In order to pass this course you need to focus, take advance reading of the next topic, read a lot, manage your study habits, research for additional information and ask your teachers or co- students if there a things not understand, be reluctant, and learned to enjoy it. Because if you have a attitude of come what may that you depend or cheat your seat mates, I assure you that professors are very strict when it comes to quizzes and exams that it one or two seats apart. I realized that school is merely preparation of life outside the business world and challenge my self in this course that you will learn to be creative, competitive, unique, patient, develop negotiation skills and analytical skills.

My current job: I am employed now as a teller of Du EK Sam Corporation.
I am responsible of disbursing funds in payments of cash deposit which are withdrawn by the customers. I deal with accounting all cash transaction during the day. I am responsible on reviewing Abstract of Collection from Collectors. I am responsible to
Deposit the daily cash collection net of disbursement.I prepare daily Cash position report showing all cash in flows and out flows, compute penalty interest for those accounts which are delinquent in their monthly payments. I also act as a hr coordinator of the branch that I prepare for workdays, attendance monitoring, and also I assist customers and negotiate With them whenever I don't have customers who will pay for their accounts.Need to be productive and flexible within assigned task

Am I using what I learned in college: Being competitive, time management, save money, trust in yourself and just be yourself that like in school that you can't please everybody just like in working environment, be professional first before emotions, be humble, be positive, you need to dream, aim big and take an action for it.

How long did it take to find a job: It took one month for me to find a job.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: This course will bring you unlimited opportunities. As long, that there is needs and wants for customers exist, business entities exist, bpo's, education, health, it will be easy to find job because marketers are flexible that they able to adapt easily find there selves suit in different jobs.

When it comes to province the minimum salary in a month would be 9,000 to 11,000, but in Manila rate will range to 15 to 18,000. For experienced employees they might have an average of 18,000 and 25,000 above.

There will be lots of opportunities waiting for marketing graduate, and when you become employee it will be your stepping stone, I advice you start saving money, and someday be a boss of your own business.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: If this is your passion, go, push your self to the limit, if you want challenges you belong to this course, enjoy and focus well in this field, it is better to sacrifice now than to suffer later. Study well and manage your self to be keen observant because it will help you a lot in this field of study.

Why did I choose Marketing Management: I chose this particular course because it suited me. Before taking series of college entrance exams, I was undecided then on what program do I really want to embark my future on. Then, with the help of the guidance council's series of personality and course fits to my capability, those lists of programs being offered by many universities and colleges go down to three which are Business courses, Hospitality courses and Crafty courses. Since crafty courses are in a form of hobby that I can acquire skills through enrolling for a month classes, business courses and hospitality courses are now the choices. But then, I prayed on which one should I choose and God gave me a sign. I passed on a business program.

About my college education: I've learned the fundamentals of management and the deeper sense of marketing since I am taking it as a major.

The most difficult subjects with a very time-consuming and great effort needed is all the subjects that a junior and senior marketing management major needs to take. These are market research, consumer behavior, distribution management, strategic management, integrated marketing communications, marketing management, business laws (specifically corporate, contracts, and negotiable instruments), and so on.

The most useful things that I've learned are all the things that I acquire from my major subjects as well as the advice from religion subjects and the hands-on training/experience as a member/trainee in an organization.

Exams were always difficult especially if you don't prepare for it. There's a mandatory saying that "If you fail to prepare, prepare to fail." Credits to the one who said that but it is really true. It is inevitable to have difficult exams and many people will fail on exam in a certain subject and sometimes, the professor will force to do another exam to grant us a re-take. As for my batch, there were people who shifted to another course but not all have the same reason. Some of them changes their interest, etc.

For me, the traits and attitude required for succeeding in this course are patience, entrepreneurial spirit, optimistic and the urge to finished the program. Patience because this course has or it requires a lot of paperwork, analysis and out of this world ideas. By being optimistic, it helped me get out of the bumpy road of college life mostly during the times that I nearly gave up. With the entrepreneurial spirit, you'll not be taking business course if you're not interested with it. Okay then, there are few instances especially in our school that a lot of students taking this specific course because their parents wanted them to. Entrepreneurial spirit may not or really will not work out. I believe that if one wants to achieve something, he or she must be eager to do in any good way or means just to finish school. One may have different ways on how to succeed but I know with perseverance, it is really possible.

My current job: As of the moment, I am looking for a job that will matches my line of interest. I am looking for a job on events/trade marketing or those positions that involves hands-on, travelling and organizing events.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: For those who are considering to study the same course that I have already taken, if you are really giving a lot of thinking to this course... Why not give it a try? If you want to talk practicality, this course will bring you ROI since companies need us because Marketing Professionals or Marketers are considered as a bloodline of the company. Also, management courses that you'll be taking up are really useful in whichever industry you intend to work for especially those fundamentals that you'll be learning. About my college education: My course requires self development and a big change in a teenage life. One must act and think smart not to impress but convince people that you are worthy of their time. To motivate others we must first learn to discipline and respect ourselves.

Am I using what I learned in college: It is indeed useful for me what I learned in school. The theories are applicable and the new ideas helped me a lot in many situations whether it is in trouble shooting problems or injecting newly developed system for the business to be able to keep up with the competition.

How long did it take to find a job: It is not my priority to find a job aside from taking care of family-owned business. but if i were to find a job, it would have taken me a month or two to get a job since there are job openings already available that suit me after i graduated.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: I would recommend the course I took in SMC because marketing management is one of the backbones of the business aside from accounting and human resources.

About my college education: Well, studying in a college like our school and enrolling a four year-course is difficult specially when it comes to Feasibility Studies and Marketing Research which is really important for us to learn. It needs time and effort to pursue college. It requires a lot of skills, and one of this is the interpersonal skills.

I believe that as a business student, we should interact with our classmates as well as the teachers because it will be one of the tools we should learn to gain customers. We must have interpersonal relationship towards others and most specially, to God. And as the vice-governor of our college before, I managed to balance my time despite of my hectic schedules and was able to finish it.

My current job: As of now, I have no job. I did not apply job after graduation because I was planning to put-up small business.

Am I using what I learned in college: As a graduate of a business course, I could say that it is my advantage to apply in any offices and companies because everywhere is business. We are taught in convincing customers, and more importantly, we are taught on how to satisfy customers.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: Yes, I would recommend this course because now-a-days, jobs are hard to find and opening a business would be a better solution for financial problems somehow.

Why did I choose Marketing Management: I was really interested with advertising but since the school didn't offer advertising, I went to the next course I want.

About my college education: It was boring, maybe because I wanted advertising and not marketing. Just study hard, be interested, watch TV, and it would really drive you to study towards this course.

Am I using what I learned in college: Yes I have. Marketing plans, feasibility studies are just some of what I used for my current and past jobs.

How long did it take to find a job: 7 months, I had to take care of my mother who was very ill back then.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: A lot of jobs from this course since it's basically like any management course, difference is it majors with marketing. Interesting career to be with, you could be in sales, in an office, pharmaceutical etc. Salary is not quite competitive, but here in the Philippines, salary is fairly low. So it doesn't make much of a difference.

Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course: Take it, it's a safe course to take. A lot of opportunities branches out from it. Easy and flexible school course.

Based on my observation the most difficult ones are the accounting subjects cause some students failed. About my college education: I found it to be generally okay. I didn't really know what to take up in college so I tried this course thinking that I might be into marketing and found out that it's quite interesting. Making a product more marketable for consumers is quite a challenge. There are many factors to consider when you want to achieve this. Things like ideal location, price, and presentation is a lot to think about. In this saying this, it was a bit difficult being a Marketing Manager student.

My current job: I'm a product manager.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduation, I did go to a lot of job interviews. Luckily, and just after a month or two, I was able to land a job.

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: I recommend this course to those who have lots of creative ideas for products. I wouldn't recommend it if you hate research, because research is a big part of getting the 'big-picture' of the industry you are in.

About my college education: My education was great. I learned a lot. I learned how to handle a business successfully and to market my business because my course is all about sales marketing. It molded me understanding in current trend business competition now. It was not that difficult. My course consisted of different business subjects including business ethics which teach you how to drive a business, accounting which help you how to handle your financial status, sales marketing which help you to advertise your business in an appropriate way and etc.

My current job: I work as a marketing analyst. YES

How long did it take to find a job: 3 weeks

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: If they want to pursue their career in business and marketing world. Y not.

About my college education: Marketing is one of the interesting business courses in DLSU. Finding out the very interesting, entertaining, amusing marketing strategies that businesses have to catch their consumers attention makes marketing enjoyable. Not only is Marketing fun but it is one of the easiest courses in DLSU because everyone has marketing skills, they just need to know how to use them properly. You don't have to be creative or analytical, all you need is passion for the course.

My current job: I am a management trainee in one of the Automobile industry.

Am I using what I learned in college: What I've learned in DLSU is to work under pressure. These experiences for me is what sets DLSU apart from other schools. We work under pressure with limited time, with other school work and extra curricular activities.

How long did it take to find a job: Around 3 to 4 months including my vacation

Do I recommend studying Marketing Management: I would recommend Marketing because of the Job opportunities it offers.
