About my college education:
My tertiary education is absolutely fantastic! It's one of my most memorable moments in my life. Some say that college life is full of intricate studies, I really enjoyed it.
When I was in my secondary education, I thought that college life is terrifying, that there will be no more idle time, no more association with your friends, but it's the contrary. College life is so full of wonderful moments like being yourself, learning new things about life, about the physical world and a whole lot more.
It was during my college years that I learned to be creative most specially as a Philosophy major, I honed my interpersonal skills and tried to fathom the true meaning of life and the reason why we, as a people must co-exist side by side. Each day I learned new things that up to this day I can apply in real world situations. Simply put, what you had learned in school, it will mold you into the person that you really wanted to be. And more often than not, if you really put your effort into your studies, being an academic scholar of our school and all, one could make a dream into a reality.
My current job:
Presently, I am doing online jobs, working as a freelance researcher. I enjoy what I am doing, since writing and research are both what drives me the most and reading has been my passion whether reading a hardcopy or online. I was previously working in a local BPO here in my country and that gave me also a great learning experience in dealing with multi cultural environment as well as learning more about life itself.
Am I using what I learned in college:
I can say for myself that what I learned from my tertiary education was so useful that even today they are still relevant and adaptable. I took up a course in the applied science so in the end what they taught me in college I can still apply in the real world like dealing with different behavioral personalities, the intricacies of our evolving culture and the vast philosophical treatises pertaining to religion, politics and social issues which I find very relevant to what I am doing presently as a researcher.
How long did it take to find a job:
I was a working student during my sophomore years and I did not find it difficult finding any kind of jobs. My first job was a telephone operator then, when there were still switchboard panels still existing. Although the remuneration was less, the camaraderie among my colleagues was such that I really enjoyed my very first job.
Do I recommend studying Philosophy:
Of course, I would definitely recommend my course in college to others. My own children, if they would acquiesce, I would certainly persuade them to take it up also since it teaches us so many aspects of life itself. Initially, I want to enter the seminary and become a priest, so that was my main reason why I took up that course. Aside from entering the seminary, the course that I had finished up, can also land you into a decent job at school, a law firm, a news organization, the possibilities are endless. And the compensation presently is well above than those given to other entry level employment.
