Program Overview
The Master of Science in Accountancy (MS-A) is a two-year graduate program that builds upon and enhances the skills and knowledge gained in an undergraduate accountancy program. It is designed to keep pace with the technological and international advances in the field of accounting, providing students the skills, knowledge, and competencies to be leading practitioners in accounting, auditing, and corporate governance.
Recommended Undergraduate Program
Students who wish to pursue a graduate degree in the Master of Science in Accountancy should have an undergraduate degree in the accountancy or business field. However, students who do not hold an undergraduate program in those fields but still wish to pursue the program are encouraged to take at least 18 units of courses in the relevant fields.

The student must have an undergraduate degree relevant to the program

An applicant with a degree not in line with the accountancy may still be admitted to the program as long as they take the pre-requisite courses. However, some colleges and universities admit any bachelor’s degree holders.

The student must pass the Graduate Admissions Test of the university

Program Outcome
Graduates of MS in Accountancy are expected to be able to:

Incorporate economic theory, quantitative analysis, and research methodologies in the study of accountancy

Handle business issues and problems in a global strategic perspective using the knowledge and technical skills in financial accounting, cost accounting, and management

Conduct accountancy related research by properly using theories and methodologies of accounting

Board Exam
To become a Certified Public Accountant in the Philippines, a graduate of MS in Accountancy needs to pass the Certified Public Accountant's Licensure Examination. The examination is conducted by the Board of Accountancy under the supervision of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).
Career Opportunities
Graduates of MS in Accountancy may pursue a career path in accounting firms, private sectors, government agencies, banks, financial companies, or academic institutions. They may apply as an account manager, cost accountant, payroll manager, credit controller, credit analyst, tax manager, audit manager, bookkeeper, researcher, or an academician.
