list bulletAbout my college education: Mining Engineering is one of the diverse engineering programs. A very interesting career choice, if you love dealing with nature, field work and the beauty of the mountains. This program is not difficult for as long as you have good background in Mathematics, Science, Physics and Chemistry in high school.

list bulletMy current job: As of now, I am a practicing mining engineer in Ontario, Canada managing tunneling project and waste disposal facilities of Ontario Power Generation, Nuclear Division.

list bulletAm I using what I learned in college: Without a doubt, my university training helped me prosper in this field.

list bulletHow long did it take to find a job: After my graduation in 1978, in two weeks I find a job as Quarry Engineer in a cement factory in Antipolo, Rizal. From thereon, I never stop working. I immigrated to Canada in 1992 under skilled immigrant program which grant mining engineer as a top priority profession that Canada needs.

list bulletDo I recommend studying Mining Engineering: I strongly recommend a career in Mining Engineering for those kids aspiring to be engineers. Mining Engineering is a combination of both civil, mechanical, electrical & chemical engineering - four engineering programs combined into one. There is a never-ending demand for talented mining engineers both in the Philippines and abroad especially in the US, Canada & Australia. If you google engineering professions, mining engineer is one of the highest paid engineering professions in US and Canada.
