My current job: I am a supervisor in a fast food store in Canada. Manage people and make sure that they serve customers with good quality food in a timely manner.

How long did it take to find a job: I started my first job 5 days after graduation.

Why did I choose this school: PUP is a university know for Accountancy course, it has the most number of Accounting graduates and CPA board passers. It is an affordable school also, with it's low tuition fee, it is for those who cannot afford too high tuition fees.

About PUP Manila: Most of the professors were strict especially in accounting subjects. What important was that the professors were really knowledgeable and can teach their students well.

My current job: Accounting head in a local company.
It is a general accounting work, I review the work of other accounting staffs. I make decisions and suggestions on how to improve the accounting system for the company.

How long did it take to find a job: After graduating on this course, it just took me a week for my first job. Which makes me feel so blessed about it since I really like to have a job immediately after graduation.

Why did I choose this school: I chose PUP as my college for the following reasons:
#1. I felt that the real scholars of the country go there.
#2. Tuition is lowest but with the best education a university can offer.
#3. The school was also active in current situations of the country and it's people.
#4. It was my first time to attend a coed school.
#5. The schedule they offered was flexible enough to allow me to be a working student.
#6. It was near my house.

About PUP Manila: PUP is known for students who come mostly from the below average income earning families. So you do not see anyone wearing expensive clothing or fancy jewelry. Just plain simple students just wanting to finish their college and hopefully make their lives and their families lives better. The students are so resourceful in their own ways. From their transportation expenses to their school projects.

The same goes for the professors and instructors, so simple, most of them graduated with honors from modest state universities and colleges. Maybe most of them have double jobs. But still they have shown integrity and dedication to their profession. Some of them are so good that they also show compassion to the less privileged students.

My current job: I am a self employed person who spends of my time on the computer promoting different well being products to others. I also do photography and videography.

How long did it take to find a job: I was already working while in college. I worked my way through college.

About PUP Manila: The professors in any university are not the same. There are good and "not so good" professors. There are some who make money from their students, but most really love their career as a teacher/professor so they end up sharing their knowledge in the most effective way.

The atmosphere during my time in college is terrible due to the fact that the university is near a squater area. But the good news is it improves a lot as I visit it last 2011.

The facilities are all ok for me. Besides, with a tuition fee of less than 1000 a month, what would I expect?

My current job: I am a Technical Support in a call center industry.

How long did it take to find a job: Less than a month only

Why did I choose this school: It is like UP, but it has cheaper tuition fees. The ambiance is very nice, refreshing and relaxing. It's location is very accessible from Bulacan and inside the campus there are lots of trees which make me help think better.

About PUP Manila: Most of the professors are great but of course there are a few "terrors". There is a PC lab which is mainly used by IT students. When I first came to the campus, the library was not spacious enough to accommodate the students' population.

My current job: I am now an Executive Secretary in RCBC. I handle and prepare meetings, take care of documents and files. I set dates and am able to manage what I've been told to do.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me 2 months because I took a break and I also took Civil Service Examination

About PUP Manila: Fortunately, one of the successful courses in PUP is their BS Accountancy courses. The school may not the most advanced facilities in terms of buildings and equipment, but these things are not necessary in the field of accounting. The school offers a conducive atmosphere for studying. Although students may feel the anxiety of maintaining a grade of 2.00 in their Accounting, Law, English and Math subjects, otherwise they would have to pass a qualifying exam in order to stay with the degree program.

My current job: Assistant Cost Accounting Manager for a leading publishing company.

How long did it take to find a job: finding a job is relatively easy for an entry level fresh graduate. I got my first job 3 months after graduation.

About PUP Manila: The campus has fun environment as you will see different types of people. Students are a combination of poor and middle class people. There are several buildings and we have the biggest library in Asia. The professors in general are great. Some are difficult though. Facilities are lacking as it is a state university.

How long did it take to find a job: It took me a year to find a job due to personal matters.

About PUP Manila: The professors are great because most of them has a masteral and doctorate degrees. The school is kind of big and we actually have our own swimming pool. You will be exposed to different aspects of life because there are a lot of student organization and you need not to become a member to be able to "hang" with them. There are a lot of rooms and facilities.

My current job: I currently work as a Human Resources and Administrative Officer

How long did it take to find a job: After a year, mainly because I studied a year earlier and I really looked very young that is why I need to wait for a while

Why did I choose this school: Low tuition fees.

About PUP Manila: During my time (2003) the school was totally left behind compared to other colleges and universities. The classrooms were small and the ventilation is only through the wooden windows and empty doors. But the teachers were fine of course same like any other schools on which there's good, laid back, bully, and great teachers too.

My current job: Workforce analyst. On BPO industry as workforce analyst, I handle the task in managing the life of the communications, data, requirements and reports between operations, clients and company.

How long did it take to find a job: 3 months

About PUP Manila: Well, as most people know, PUP is an activist where in you can see students shouting for their rights and even for the rights of other people. Those who shout for what they believe on the way they want is called SAMASA, while the other part of students is called KALIPI. Since first year, I’m used that most of the time, even when were having classes and exams, the SAMASA will pass and they are making so loud noise.
Regarding with our facilities, it’s obvious that PUP have broken chairs and desk that are using, and most of the times, the classrooms that we used don’t have electric fan, so that we, the students and the professors need to stay in a hot classroom. But what I want to compliment with our university is for having good professors (most of them), who even specializes their education in different countries and who achieved so many goals, but preferred to teach poor students- the PUPians.

My current job: I am currently working in a call center as customer service representative. Yes, I can say my job is related to the education I had since the job motivates or encourages the principle of talking credibly what you really mean to say for you to gain client's trust or they put you the confidence you can be trusted and reliable to talk for them and with them

How long did it take to find a job: Finding a job after graduation took me not long to have one. I do applied and been in a call center. Its just a month I had my first job.

About PUP Manila: The PUP professors are different from each other. They come with different teaching methods and styles. Some requires a lot of projects while others are not. Most of them are experts on what they teach as they also have hands-on experience about what they are teaching.

The facilities are lacking especially computers. Nevertheless, we have the biggest library in Asia. The campus is big and has a lagoon. There are not enough facilities during my time. I just don't know now. But I guess, the trees and the environment makes studying more relaxed.

My current job: I am currently a full time mom. I previously worked as a Product Manager.

How long did it take to find a job: Less than a month.

Why did I choose this school: First and foremost, this is a State University with the lowest tuition. My parents did not have any hard paying for my education then.

About PUP Manila: The ambiance was just fine. Most of the students there were poor families who wanted to finish their college education by all means.
The professors / teachers were a lot strict and they will never have any second thought of failing you if you deserve it.

My current job: I am currently a call center agent.
I work as customer service representative for a telephone company in the US.

About PUP Manila: The campus is really big and has a lot of departments. It has a lagoon where students can make group studies or where students can even relax. Also, it has a big library, football gym, basketball gym and badminton gym.

However, facilities are not so great as this is a public school and is only being subsidized by the government. Nevertheless, in order to be on this school, you have to be part of their passing rate. If I am not mistaken, during my times, only 4000+ passed out of over 40,000 students who have the taken the examination. Once you passed, it is worth the effort as the tuition is really low compare to other schools.

Most of the professors are old professors, therefore, they have really mastered the subject matter.

My current job: I am a Call Center Representative.

How long did it take to find a job: I was able to get my first job as a Call Center Representative when I was in 4th year college. Therefore, it only means that I was able to apply right away, what I've learned from my university.

Why did I choose this school: Telling the truth is that it is the only school I took an entrance exam. Ever since my older sister graduated from PUP, it was my goal to also enroll there because I thought PUP offers low tuition fee but will surely create excellent graduates.

About PUP Manila: The atmosphere - As you can see on TV, PUP do have a lot of activists. Who can blame parents for not letting their sons/daughters to enroll there although it offers a low tuition fee? They are all worried that they will be like them and not study instead. But hey, don't judge a book by it's cover. I actually learned a lot with all those activists. About the economy, different point of views of people about the government, in short they introduced me to the "real world". Yes, they do a lot of "noise" even there are on-going classes, but what do you expect from a state university? Tax payers are the one letting them go to school, so they will be knowledgeable about what really are happening on our community. They are eye-opener for us actually. I didn't become an activists, but some of the people I knew are, but they still managed to graduate. It's just a matter of discipline and responsibility. PUP also offers a lot of cheap-price foods. A good place you can stay at while studying for an exam or just hanging out with your friends. And have great people you will love and surely miss when you graduate.

The professors - I did love all my professors. They are great and I learned a lot from them. While in class, they will be the typical professor. Give you hard quizzes, great number of home works and projects but at the end of the class, they can be your friend, an adviser in life and you can also ask them play some computer games with you. But still, as a student, please be advised that even after class, you still need to respect them you know. They are still your professors!

The facilities - This is one thing that's not good at school. As a Computer Science student, we should have laboratories for hands-on exams or for just studying. But we didn't have enough resources. On one computer, we will be more than 5 students using it. Even the chairs, we need to go to other rooms just to borrow one from there. Facilities are not enough. But what can you expect from a state university? You can't have all you want and need. Because you know, tax-payers are paying most of their tuition and we all know where those money are right now. Anyway, the things it will teach you though, is that you will learn to be resourceful. And not be choosy on what is there and given to you. You will be loved by those companies because you're not that choosy for what job will be given to you.

My current job: I am an Associate Software Engineer (ASE) at Accenture for 9 months as of writing. I develop applications for the company's clients. I am more on focused creating web applications as of my current project.

How long did it take to find a job: I graduated May 2013. May is the March of PUP. And I was hired by the company I'm working now last August 2013. So yeah, just a span of 2 months I had the job of my dreams.

About PUP Manila: Studying in PUP was great. It was fun to go to and you can definitely learn a lot. You will surely enjoy school and learn while you do.
The professors was great and will really help you in your studies. They are helpful with the students and at the same time strict with what they want the students to learn. But even being strict professors still are mostly friendly with the students, especially the ones who obey the rules.
The facilities are not that good at our school. The facilities needs more equipment but still it was enough for us to learn the things we need.

About PUP Manila: Polytechnic University of the Philippines is indeed a help to those people who want to finish college in a lower cost. As a state university, it provides quality education that help people to succeed in the future. Polytechnic University of the Philippines illustrates the saying: “the root of education is sour but the fruit is sweet”.
Though lacking in facilities, it still bring a good ambiance to its students.

About PUP Manila: Facilities during my time is not so good, like one computer is for 3 students. That's why I decided to bring my own computer. I can understand as we are only paying around 500Php per semester. The professors in terms of attitudes - some are okay but others are not. In terms of their knowledge to the subject, I can say that they are experts as they are also working on Advertising Agency. The school is very wide campus with a lot of amenities like soccer gym, basketball gym and badminton gym.

My current job: Purchasing Officer

How long did it take to find a job: Less than two months after graduation.

Why did I choose this school: Its the school that has the lowest tuition fee and had a good standing in terms of the course I chosen, being a state university.

About PUP Manila: All students has the same economic standing because it's a state university so all students had equal standard. The food is cheap you can eat and everything is in the budget. A lot of parking area and it's free.
The professor are great not all but there is still professor who would give insight of what field we want to achieve in life and that a great help.
We are also near oil depot why sometimes classes are cancelled due to leak. Flood everywhere when it rains it may look like a sea. Nobody from PUP can say they never experience walking in flood street. But life there is simple and very rewarding due to the given opportunity to study in a university.

Why did I choose this school: This school is sufficient for me to learn more in Mathematics and I need to support myself since it is a SCU.

About PUP Manila: My Alma Mater horned me to become a Teacher and at the same time helps me to manage my time, creativity, extension services and doing some researches that I am using recently while working abroad. Most of the teachers imparted their knowledge and expertise that made me encourage to become a dispenser of knowledge, facilitator of learning, and a guidance counsellor. I miss my Alma Mater.

My current job: I have many position in our company since they are stupid and I am the one who is the brain of the company. I hope you understand what I meant because of this course.

How long did it take to find a job: I got job while I am still in my last semester in this course. Really!

Why did I choose this school: It was not my top choice school but my mom insisted to give it a try. When I attended to our first general orientation for freshmen, I feel very blessed and lucky because they will get only 7K deserving students out of 50k plus. Proudly, I am one of the "cream of the crop"!

About PUP Manila: Students were very competitive but exercise humility especially in a classroom. If you feel left behind, no one can help but I/myself/yourself only. So do your "homework" properly and be a team player also.

Some Professors were good...some were not so good! I will never forget my ever loving Professor (minor subject) who gave me SINGKO and warned me not to disclose this our College Dean nor to the "Activists Students" because he will look after me. #LoveyouSir! #Nakaladkadkanasanangtren!

About PUP Manila: The atmosphere was nice. I was excited to go to school everyday.

At the time, it was supposed to be a tenement house that was converted to a college which was called Philippine College of Commerce. I liked the place, every room had it's own bathroom.

The professors there were good, I really had to study hard to pass this course.

About PUP Manila: PUP is the largest polytechnic university in the Philippines. You will not be surprised to find yourself with the crowd.

Of coursre, it's not airconditioned since most of the students cannot afford to pay for the energy fee. But still they offer quality education.

There are some professors who will really inspire you to do more, and some will be a great challenge for you. But PUPians are self-reliant. We are not spoon-fed here. We are being taught to be independent learners. Self-studying is the key especially if you will encounter not so good teachers. But in the College of Education. I can say that all our professors are really good!

My current job: I am currently working at Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation Inc. I used to be an ALS Teacher, and after 6 months, I became a pre-school teacher. Our students are from Manila North Cemetery. I am not just a teacher now, I am now a Community Development Worker.

About PUP Manila: It was a State University which meant a myriad of personalities all in one place. A good institution for social acclimatization, you get to experience dealing with other students from all social classes.

I have had the chance to visit other schools and in comparison to professors from other universities I find that professors from P.U.P are more in tune with their students, in the sense that they seem to have a better line of communication. It's a little hard to explain how that works, you have to experience it first hand to understand.

But for me, you are fortunate if you studied in PUP as you will pay very low tuition fees. There are a lot of things that you can see outside including public train. The facilities are not that good but you just have to be resourceful.
