Course description:
The MS Environmental Studies program is designed to equip the students with the necessary research and management competencies in the fields of Industrial Ecology and Natural Systems Studies. It is an interdisciplinary program that combines the Natural and Physical Sciences with Economics and the Social Sciences. The program also prepares the graduates to be more effective environmental educators, researchers, managers, and planners in the academe, industry, government and non-government institutions.

Admission Requirements - Freshmen:
1. Pass the U.P. College Admission Test (UPCAT)
2. Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate (NSO)
3. 4th Year High School Card (Form 138) / Form 137 (if you already have it)
4. Two Passport size photos
Admission Requirements - Transferees:
1. Accomplished application form for transfer students with attached one 2x2 photo.
2. Transcript of Records or a certified true copy of grades (TCG) from each college attended for evaluation, regardless of his intentions to validate his advance credits (classcards are not accepted). The TCG should be signed by the Registrar or his/her authorized representative;
Do not apply for an honorable dismissal unless you have been accepted into a program.
3. A non-refundable fee of Php. 100.00 for Filipinos (Php.250.00 for resident foreign applicants or US$20 for non-resident foreign applicants) must be paid at the Cashier’s Office, UP Cebu.
4. Filed/Submit the above documents with the Office of the College Secretary & Registrar for evaluation.
All qualified applicants whose applications have been processed by the Office of the College Secretary & Registrar must submit the following before they are finally accepted and issued the Introduction/Admission Slip.
1. UP Form 3
2. Official Transcript of Records
3. Honorable Dismissal or Certificate of Transfer Credentials
4. Xeroxed copy of NSO issued Birth Certificate with original copy for verification purposes
5. Medical Certificate from UP Cebu Health Service
6. Letter of Good Moral Character
7. Talent Test result (for applicants in Fine Arts program)
8. Program Checklist (2 copies) duly signed by the adviser
9. Duly accomplished validation or substitution forms with complete signatures of all concerned
10. One long sized window envelope with postage stamps pasted on it. Write your name inside the flap of the envelope.
Admission Requirements - Foreign Students:
NEW FRESHMAN
1. Must take and pass the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) exam. Which is usually given every lst Saturday and lst Sunday of August of each year or
2. May be admitted through automatic admission in any program with available slots if he/she has taken any of the following international qualifying exams such as:
A. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) - with a total minimum score of 1200 in Math and Critical Reading only.
B. General Certificate of Education (GCE) - passes three (3) Ordinary Levels and two (2) Advance Levels
C. International Baccalaureate Diploma
• If admitted as a NEW FRESHMAN through UPCAT or Automatic admission, submit the ff. Requirements:
1. Official High school Transcript (Original Copy)
2. Student Directory (2 copies)
3. Two (2) passport size photos
4. Birth Certificate (Original & Photo copy)
5. Medical Certificate from the UP Health Service
6. Student Visa/Study Permit from the International Students Program (ISP), Vinzons Hall, UP Diliman
7. Notice of Admission (If UPCAT Qualifier)
8. TOEFL RESULT- with a score of 500 (paper based), 173 (Computer based), or 61 (IBT). To be submitted only by admitted applicants whose medium of instruction in their previous school is not “ENGLISH”
TRANSFER STUDENTS
1. Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of at least 2.00 or higher
2. Must have earned at least 33 academic units or more.
3. Must submit ALL grades in all subjects taken from previous schools/universities
4. Must not be currently enrolled upon application to UP Diliman
5. Must meet the required GWA for the degree program he/she is applying for.
6. Must submit his /her transcript of record (s) for evaluation purposes.
7. Must fill out an application form
8. Must pay the application fee of $20 (subject to change)
9. Must submit two (2) passport size photos
10. If with gap, please submit an affidavit of no enrollment during the semester/year that you did not enroll.
• If admitted as a FOREIGN TRANSFER STUDENTS, submit the ff. Additional documents:
1. Official Transcript of Record (Original Copy)
2. Student Directory (2 copies)
3. Two (2) passport size photos
4. Birth Certificate (Original & Photo copy)
5. Medical Certificate from the UP Health Service
6. Student Visa
