Course description:
The program aims to teach students how to start and manage their own business upon graduation. It seeks to develop entrepreneurs who are motivated and knowledgeable in identifying opportunities, preparing business plans and starting and managing an actual business. Major students will be required to organize and put up a mini-corporation, fund it, and go into real market offering of a chosen product or service. A laboratory called Incubator Facility (IF) is provided to allow students to conduct any new product development research. Graduating students will undertake 200 hours of internship or on-the-job training in marketing at a qualified enterprise in Metro Cebu.

The program is intended for administrative professionals who work with executives in offices both locally and abroad. This is a para-legal program designed not only to provide students with general principles of management and business policies but also create future managers or entrepreneurs with a working knowledge of the legal environment in which enterprises operate. Students will be required to undergo legal internship during the terminal term in selected Cebu-based law offices. This is to expose students to legal practices, documentation and research. In the process students build their knowledge and competence in the field of commercial law. The program is an alternative to BA Political Science and BA Philosophy, and other 4-year undergraduate programs offered by University as a preparatory program to law. The PhD student may choose 4 cognate courses that are in line with the topic of his dissertation. Dissertation III is required over and above the 4 cognate courses. The PhD student is required to enroll in 3 elective courses or an equivalent of 9 units. The student may choose from the elective Philosophy courses and the cognate courses not yet taken. Aside from the dissertation requirement, the candidates for graduation must have published at least three research articles in the Journal of Business Studies of the School of Business and Economics before he/she will be considered for graduation.
