K. D.
Studied BS in Pharmacy
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2014

Why did I choose this school:
I really didn't want to enter this school at the first place. We're originally from Manila but because of lack of funds, my parents just chose this school. I really wanted to study in Manila though.

About University Of San Agustin:
The facilities were quite old, no air-conditioned rooms and such. The only air-conditioned room you can get in to is the library, speech lab, and computer room.
For the laboratory facilities, it's quite old too, they do lack some machines etc.

The teachers were good, but there are really some na terror, or yung daldal lang ng daldal hanggang matapos yung klase, walang pakialam kung may naintindihan kayo or wala.

My current job:
I am currently a Pharmacist in our own drugstore, and I'm also a freelance artist.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
When I got my PRC license and certificate

Studied AB Mass Communication
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2014

Why did I choose this school:
University of San Agustin has been an inspiration to me, they have produced remarkable graduates and are now also remarkable professionals in their own field, the academic standards of this school is really high and I can assure that they would be able to give me quality education that I need, and most of all it is also the alma mater of my father and brother, that's why I have no doubt to not choose this school to be my alma mater as well.

About University Of San Agustin:
In my personal experiences, I can say that University of San Agustin has been one of the most competitive schools in the city of Iloilo. Augustinians (that's how they call us students studying there) do not only excel in academics but also live up to the Augustinian values that St. Augustine has formed to be the pillars of the school, these are Veritas, Caritas and Unitas (Truth, Love and Unity).

When it comes to our professors, to be honest not all of them are the same, there are those that you would really hate but still you have to give them respect because they are still your teachers and those that you could not help but to really look up to them, on how they carry their selves and on how they inspire us with their teachings. They are professionals when it comes to their work, they teach us theories very well and they make us understand in the most understandable way possible and they see us students equally.

University of San Agustin has been a very convenient school because it has provided me as a student a venue to make my life in college somehow manageable. We have to be real, college life would be really tough especially if you don't know how to manage your time and priorities but if you just only know how to utilize what the school has to offer just like what I did, I'm sure that you will have a better, easier and fun college life.

My current job:
Now I'm training to be one of the Segment Hosts of ABS-CBN's morning TV show Sikat Ka! Iloilo. It is aired live on weekdays from 6:15 to 7:00 in the morning. Well, it's a morning show and my job is to host the program, talk about issues, give insights about things, perhaps give advice to people, be an inspiration, etc.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
Actually, I didn't look for a job. The job found me. It was really an amazing experience, I was able to join in a competition hosted by ABS-CBN Iloilo and I was able to get in to the top 3 of the regional competition and that opened the opportunity for me. After that I was asked to train for them and turned out to be my On-the-Job-Training/ Internship program and after I finished my number of hours with the company, they offered me the job. I was just so blessed.

Race Jay Tubongbanua
Studied BS in Management Accounting
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2010

Why did I choose this school:
I have heard a lot of successful businessmen of Iloilo City were a product of this school and it's credibility as the oldest university in Iloilo means it have what it takes to develop a student like me.

About University Of San Agustin:
Ambiance - I can rate as 7 out of 10. It is a catholic school so mostly likely the students etiquette and manners were one of their main goal to develop. I have a lot of wonderful experience on this school and gain numerous of friend which of course a part of ambiance since it is your experience of a student we are talking about here. Supporting some extra curricular activities like sports do have a tight budget is the downfall of this university.

Faculty - Most of us will encounter a terror professor or teacher and it is a normal thing and it will help you grow trust me on this, you will learn a lot from them. I can rate this as 8/10.

Facility - Yes we have enough computer all air-conditioned, but the classrooms? you have to settle some broken fans or a bit old ceiling, so if you are a bit of a sensitive type then maybe you could get yourself a "better think again" option. But if your hungry for knowledge then it is the spot for you. The library is quite huge, your 4 years stay is not enough to read the book you love not even an overstated "super bookworm" can just beware of the librarian shes a bit strict. :)

My current job:
I'm currently and Accounts Receivable personnel of a company in Alabang.
I do handle revenue report, ageing accounts and credit and collection.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
Less than a month I guess, a bit of a luck from me.

A. L.
Studied BS in Medical Technology
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 1999

Why did I choose this school:
The College of Medical Technology in University of San Agustin Iloilo was considered as one of the best school in the entire country producing topnotchers almost every board exams.

About University Of San Agustin:
University of San Agustin Iloilo is a very conducive place to study. Our professors were classic, back to basics as we all know most laboratory today are in machine and computer dependent but we need competent Med. Techs. to operate those equipment. Our professors failed us if we are not deserving. Even if your intellectual is high but if you don't have self reliant and perseverance your grades will end up incomplete because of requirements who are difficult to find. They are very strict but someday you will realized that these are for your own goods. After you become colleagues with your teachers before, they are very nice and good people. As they may say NO PAIN, NO GAIN!

My current job:
I am currently working as a Registered Medical Technologist at Western Visayas Regional Blood Center in Philippine Red Cross Iloilo.
We are in Blood Bank facility. We collect bloods from our volunteer donors in the office and during Mass Blood Donation. Examine the blood carefully and process the blood into components. After examinations and counter checking of blood from a fellow Medical Technologists. Most of our blood is being sent to our satellites hospitals for the benefits of our patients. But since, the blood we collected from our volunteer donor is not enough, not everyone is given the privilege the equal opportunity to extend the lives of others due to shortage of blood. Because we are also the one assessing if we will give blood to their patients. Luckily for some when I was the one assigned during my duty at the Blood Dispensing Area, I can really assess the real condition of the patients compare to my other co employee because I am also a REGISTERED NURSE. After I passed the licensure examinations for BS Medical Technology in 1999 and working for several years as Med. Tech., I tried to make a sudden shift of career moves, I enrolled BS Nursing in West Negros College in Bacolod City from year 2003-2004. Working professionals as others may call us because I worked as Medical Technology by day during weekdays and study nursing in the evening and weekend.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
It didn't take me about 4 months.
After I graduated in college, I, just self study here in our school and go to Manila right after for an extensive review for the upcoming board exams for Medical Technology. Even though I was only reviewing there, the owner of the place in which I stayed in for 2 months had already offered me a job at her Dormitory as a Marketing Manager, though the compensation is not the high but the I was very pleased and happy. It is not my course related job but the idea of someone has given you the trust that you can do it makes my confidence more stronger to take any challenges life may brings. After I took and passed the Board Examination for Medical Technology, the owner of the Review Center has also offer me a job to market his review center in our place on a commission basis. Of course, I accept it. I already have two jobs in that span without having each other rather complement it. A place to stay in Manila as well as a review center. From there, the education and the training that my schools gave to me further grows. Giving me self confidence and the knowledge to face any obstacles in my chosen career.

Studied AB English
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2001

About University Of San Agustin:
For standards in the nineties, the school was not bad. It even had upgrades in multimedia equipment on my last year there. Things could be better, though, like English proficiency of the teachers. Then again, most schools in the Philippines do not really put much stock into the mastery of what is only a secondary language for us. They should, though.

My current job:
I am a Language and Tech trainer for a call center.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
I was already working by the time I was eighteen.

M. C.
Studied Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2008

About University of San Agustin:
Being one of the oldest schools in Western Visayas, University of San Agustin has old facilities too. Old classrooms, old laboratories and devices, etc. Some classrooms are conducive for learning, some are not. I can say, that they should change the type of chairs they use in laboratories. Also, the school must have a budget for newer devices to introduce to the students.

My recent visit to my Alma Matter was last March 4 2013. There was a great improvement in terms of facilities and atmosphere all throughout the University.

My current job:
My current job is Pharmacist - Health Informatics Clinician.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
It took me about 2 months. I needed to pass the board exam first before finding a job.

Studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2011

About University Of San Agustin:
The university has a very friendly atmosphere. Students, professors, and other personnel are very helpful and welcoming. It's also surrounded by the greens-- trees, fresh air and the like. The security guards are also doing their job well, so everyone feels safe.
Professors are also very professional. They can become very strict inside the classroom, yet become really friendly outside the ground-- of ourse, it all stays at a professional level.
However, facilities are quite not well-maintained. Some doors and chairs are already broken. The canteen is quite old. Some rooms are not well-lit.

My current job:
I am currently employed as a Private Duty Nurse at a tertiary hospital in Iloilo City.

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
14 months after graduation.

I. G.
Studied Bachelor of Science in Psychology
at University of San Agustin , Iloilo City
Graduated: 2001

About University Of San Agustin:
The professors were strict in most subjects and that's one of the things I missed about the Filipino teachers: the values and discipline they instill upon the students. The atmosphere was good, clubs and programs you can join to plus the fact that the facilities were student-friendly and within reach, the size of the campus is bigger too.

My current job:
Nursery teacher in the Netherlans

How long did it take to find a job after graduation:
It took a while. had I not started with part-time jobs, I wouldn't be where I am now.
