Scholarships at University of La Salette:

I. University Scholarship Grants

1. Entrance Academic Scholarships

Qualification:

• High School class valedictorian or salutatorian in a graduating class of not less than 40 members

Procedure:

A.) Secure a certification on one’s rank or honors in the graduating class from the high school principal then submit the said certification during enrolment/assessment.

Benefit:

• 100% tuition fee discount and 50% tuition fee discount for valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.

Terms and Conditions:

• Applicable only for the first year curriculum of first two (2) semesters in college.

2. Performance Academic Scholarship

Qualification:

• FULL SCHOLAR is a full time student with a minimum academc load of 21 units in the immediately preceding term and must have obtained a general average of 92% with no grade lower than 89% in any subject.

• HALF SCHOLAR is the same as full scholar except that the general scholastic average should be 90% with no grade lower than 85.

Procedure:

A.) Secure a certified true copy of grades for the immediately preceding semester at the Registrar’ Office.

B.) Fill up te application form (triplicate) for performance scholarship at the Dean’s Office. Attach your certified true copy of grades from semesteral academic performance and clearance/permit.

C.) Request for an interview with the Dean for his/her endorsement of your application.

D.) Proceed to the Officeof the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for finance for his/her interview and approval. Give the first copy with attachments to the Accounting Office, the second copy to the College Dean and keep one copy for yourself.

Benefits:

• 100% tuition fee discount and 50% tuition fee discount for full and half scholars, respectively.

Terms and Conditions:

• Renewable every semester, must maintain the required scholastic average and minimum academic load.

3. Reconciler

Qualifications:

• A graduate of any high school from the La Salette School System and recommended by the high school principal as less privileged but deserving.

Procedure:

A.) Submit to the Accounting Office your certification as a Reconciler scholar during enrolment/assessment.

Benefits:

• 100% tuition fee discount

Terms and Conditions:

• Applicable for eight (8) semesters, with no grades below 80% in any subject and no FDA (failure due to Absences), UD (unofficially dropped) or INC (Incomplete) marks, may be required to render office work for at least two (2) hours daily during the school year.

II. Other Scholarship Grants and Financial Assistance

1. Student Executive Council (SEC) Scholarship Grant

Qualifications:

• An incoming first year college student with a general average of 85% and no grades below 80% in any subject in the fourth year level and attestedto by the barangay chairman as poor but deserving.

• A full time old student who obtained in the immediately preceding semester a general scholastic average of 85% with no grade lower than 80% in any subject and attested by the barangay chairman as poor but deserving.

Procedure

A.) Fill up the applicaton form for SEC Scholarship at the SEC Office. Present the original and attach the photocopies of the following requirements:Certified true copyof Form 138 or report card for incoming freshmen or certified true copy of grades for old students.

• Parents BIR Form 1701-1 or tax exemption certificate for the previous year.

• Letter of recommendation from the barangay chairman attesting to the applicant’s qualifications.

• Certificate of good moral character from the high school principal for incoming freshmen or from the Prefect of Discipline for old students.

• Take the qualifying test and interview given by an authorized SEC representative and must pass evaluation.

• Background investigation may be conducted.

Terms and Conditions:

• Renewable every semester, must maintain the required scholastic aveage, enrolled in a non-medical course, with maximum academic load of 21 units (excess units will be shouldered by the grantee), must render service to the DSS and SEC office for at least two (2) hours daily and evaluation must be patterend after the Office Aides/Reconciler rating.

2. Governmnet Scholarship Program

Within the University, there are students who enjoy government scholarship grants such as those from the Philippine Veterans Administration Office (PVAO), US Veterans Administration Office (USVAO), Scholarship, Grants-in-Aid and Student Loans administered by the Commission on Higher Education, Congressional and City Government Scholarships.

3. Private Scholarship Grants

Other scholarship grants may be sponsored by private entities and individuals.

4. Office Aids

Qualifications:

• A high school graduate who is poor but deserving as attested to by the barangay chairman.

Procedures:

A.) Secure application form for financial assistance from the Coordinator of Student Aide Recociler Scholars and attach the following requirements.

• Parent’s BIR Form 1701-A or individual income tax return for the previous year.

• Letter of recommendation either from a barangay chairman or high school principal

• Form 138 or report card

• Certificate of good moral character

• Report for initial interview with the Coordinator of Student Aide Recociler Scholars who will endorse the application to the Committee on Student Financial Assistance.

• Report for final interview with the Chairman of the Committee on Studet Financial Assistance.

• 100% tuition fee discount

Terms and Conditions:

• Renewable every semester, minimum academic loadof 21 units, no failures, no unofficial dropping of subjects, passes the evaluation of the supervisor to whom he repored daily during his free hours within the terms.
