Scholarships at University of Iloilo
I. Academic Scholarships
The University of Iloilo offers the following Academic Scholarships:
1. Presidential Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship aims to admit the best students from national high schools into the University of Iloilo. The university invites the students it deems qualified.
Benefits
• 100% coverage of fees (tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory) for the normal life of the program
• An allowance of PhP 1,000 every month for the student; and another PhP 1,000 every month for the students’ parents
Eligibility
The student must be one of the 10 best students of selected national high schools.
Maintenance
• The student must be part of the Dean’s List.
• The student must not have a mark of incomplete, dropped, or failed.
• The student must have a full load.
• The student must not be suspended for disciplinary reasons.
• The student must render 10 service hours per week.
2. Valedictorian Scholarship
Benefit
• 100% coverage of the tuition for the normal life of the program
Eligibility
The student must be the valedictorian of a high school with at least 100 graduating students in his/her batch.
Requirements
The student must submit the following documents to the CSDL Office on or before the start of enrollment:
• Certificate indicating that he/she is the valedictorian of his/her batch
• Form 137
• Certificate of Good Moral Character
• NSO Birth Certificate
Maintenance
• The student must be part of the Dean’s List.
• The student must not be suspended for disciplinary reasons.
• The student must render 10 service hours per week.
3. Salutatorian Scholarship
Benefit
• 50% coverage of the tuition for the normal life of the program
Eligibility
The student must be the salutatorian in a high school with at least 100 graduating students in his/her batch.
Requirements
The student must submit the following documents to the CSDL Office on or before the start of enrollment:
• Certificate indicating that he/she is the salutatorian of his/her batch
• Form 137
• Certificate of Good Moral Character
• NSO Birth Certificate

4. Dean’s List Full Scholarship
The scholarship is applied by the CSDL retention specialist for the qualifying students.
Benefit
• 100% coverage of the tuition for one semester
Eligibility
• The student must be one of the top 10 students on the Dean’s List. The official Dean’s List is generated by the Registrar’s Office every semester.
• The student must not be a recipient of another scholarship grant.
Maintenance
• The student must be one of the top 10 students on the Dean’s List.
• The student must not have a mark of incomplete, dropped, or failed.
• The student must have a full load (at least 21 units for an irregular student).
• The student must not have any disciplinary action.
5. Dean’s List Half Scholarship
The scholarship is applied by the CSDL retention specialist for the qualifying students.
Benefit
• 50% coverage of the tuition for one semester
Eligibility
• The student must be one of the top 11-25 students on the Dean’s List. The official Dean’s List is generated by the Registrar’s Office every semester.
• The student must not be a recipient of another scholarship grant.
Maintenance
• The student must be one of the top 11-25 students on the Dean’s List.
• The student must not have a mark of incomplete, dropped, or failed.
• The student must have a full load (at least 21 units for an irregular student).
• The student must not have any disciplinary action.
Notes:
• If a scholar does not satisfy the conditions for maintenance of scholarship, he/she will be under probation on the next semester.
• While a scholar is under probation, he/she receives no scholarship for that term.
• The probationary status of a scholar is lifted the following semester if he/she satisfies the conditions for maintenance.
• A scholar under probation who has not satisfied the conditions for maintenance of his/her scholarship for the following semester will be disqualified from the scholarship of which he/she availed.
II. Nonacademic Scholarships
The University of Iloilo offers the following Non-academic Scholarships:
1. Handog – Kaibigan Educational Assistance Program
Benefit
• 50% coverage of fees (tuition and miscellaneous) for the normal life of the program
Eligibility
• The student must pass the exam given by the Marketing Department.
• The student must have a good standing.
Requirements
The student must submit the following documents to the CSDL Office on or before the start of enrollment:
• Scholarship acceptance letter
• Scholarship certificate
• Enrollment registration fee
2. Student Assistantship and Student Marshal Scholarship
Benefits
• 100% coverage of tuition for a maximum of 21 units per term
Eligibility
• The student must belong to a low-income family (annual gross income of PhP 200,000 or less).
• The student must not have any failing grade.
• The student must have good moral conduct.
• The student must not have any suspensions in the previous term and year for disciplinary reasons.
• The student must be fit to work.
• The student must pass the screening and interview process.
Requirements
• The student must pass the scholarship exam.
• The student must submit two of the following documents with a 2x2 ID picture to the CSDL Office:
(a) Income statement of his/her parent/s
(b) Proof of billing of the current month
(c) Certificate of Indigency
(d) Certificate of Good Moral Character
(e) Medical Certificate
(f) Report Card
(g)Photocopy of Grade Report from the Registrar’s Office (for old students)
Maintenance
• The student must not have a mark of incomplete, dropped, or failed.
• The student must render 20 service hours every week in the area to which he/she is assigned.
• The student must submit to the CSDL Office the monthly attendance sheet signed by his/her immediate supervisor.
• The student must attend monthly meetings and other institutional activities.
3. Children of Alumni Scholarship
Benefit
• 10% coverage of the tuition for the normal life of the program
Eligibility
The student must be a child of a UI alumnus/alumna.
Requirements
The student must submit the following documents to the CSDL Office:
• Transcript of Records or the diploma of his/her parent/s
• His/her NSO Birth Certificate
