SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE NATIONAL TEACHERS COLLEGE:

1. Entrance Scholarship

A. High school valedictorian – 100% discount in the basic tuition fee good for one semester only

B. High school salutatorian – 50% discount in the basic tuition fee good for one semester only

Requirements:

• certification of honor for being valedictorian or salutatorian
• certification that the student belongs to at least fifty (50) graduating class
• should pass the NTC Entrance Examination
• duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office

C. Tanglaw ng Karunungan Award– This award is given by NTC to partner schools to choose one among their graduating high school students, the individual who has the following qualifications:

• exemplary character
• with at least 85% academic average in the senior year
• below 10, 000.00 family monthly income
• active in co-curricular activities
• duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office

• • recipients of this scholarship will enjoy a 100% discount in the basic tuition fee for one semester only.

D. Infantado –Ylagan Service Award – The award is given by NTC to partner schools to choose one among their graduating high school students, a student who intends to take up Education course. Scholars will receive 100% discount in the basic tuition fee for one semester only.

Requirements:

• Accomplished Tanglaw ng Karunugan Information sheet or Infantado – Ylagan Information sheet (issued by the partner school)
• Letter from the principal or guidance counselor as proof that the student is the real recipient of the award
• duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office

2. Entrance Merit Scholarship

This scholarship is given to entering freshmen students who belong to the top ten with highest composite average based from the result of the entrance examination and high school general weighted average. Scholars will enjoy a 100% discount in the basic tuition fee for one semester only.

3. Academic Scholarship

This type of scholarship is given to students who showed exemplary performance in their academics.

Qualifications:

• at least one semester residence
• at least 18 units load the previous semester
• With GWA of at least B+ (91% – 93%) with no grade lower than B (for full scholarship, 100% discount in the basic tuition fee only)
• With GWA of at least B (88% – 90%) with no grade lower than B- (for partial scholarship, 50% discount in the basic tuition fee only)
• no academic delinquencies such as incomplete, dropped, withdrawal (authorized/unauthorized), and failure marks in the previous semester

Requirements:

• semestral report during the previous semester
• registration form (photocopy, previous and present) duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office

4. Special Skills in Writing – FIAT LUX (100% Basic Tuition fee discount)

• Fiat lux Editor- in- Chief
• Fiat lux lay out Artist

5. Financial Assistance Scholarship

A. Financial Assistance Scholarship – students enrolled in the first semester or second semester for all year levels are welcome to join this scholarship. Recipients shall receive 100% discount in the basic tuition fee for one semester.

Qualifications:

• Below 10, 000.00 family monthly income
• at least 80% general average in high school (for incoming first year)
• no grade below C+ (80%-84%) (for old students)
• at least 12 units load for the present semester
• no academic delinquencies such as incomplete, dropped, withdrawal (authorized/unauthorized), and failure marks in the previous semester

Requirements:

• certificate of non-filing of income tax from BIR (for parents without source of income) or Below 100, 000.00 annual income certified by BIR
• photocopy of F- 138 (for incoming first year)
• letter of application from parents
• interview with the guidance counselors
• duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office
• photocopy of previous Report of Rating (for old students)

• • re-application for each semester thereafter
• • admission in the scholarship is still subject to further evaluation.

B. Student Assistantship Program – students enrolled in the first semester or second semester for all year levels are welcome to join this scholarship. Recipients shall receive discount in the basic tuition fee for one semester depending on the hours of rendered duty in assigned offices.

20 hours a week duty – 100% discount in the basic tuition fee
10 hours a week duty – 50% discount in the basic tuition fee

Qualifications:

• below 10, 000.00 family monthly income
• at least 80% general average in high school (for incoming first year)
• at least 12 unit load for the present semester
• no academic delinquencies such as incomplete, dropped, withdrawal (authorized/unauthorized), and failure marks in the previous semester
• no record of administrative sanction for any violation

Requirements:

• certificate of non-filing of income tax from BIR (for parents without source of income) or Below 100, 000.00 annual income certified by BIR
• photocopy of F- 138 (for incoming first year)
• letter of application from parents
• interview with the guidance counselors
• duly accomplished application form available in the Guidance Office
• photocopy of previous Report of Rating (for old students)

• • in case a recipient finds a need to continue the scholarship for the next semester, (those who already received the scholarship for the previous semester) he/ she should apply again and present the needed requirements

• • admission in the scholarship is still subject to further evaluation and approval of the Office of the President

Other Financial Assistance Programs

1. Skills Enhancement and Education Development for Students Program (SEEDS) in partnership with Jollibee Foods Corporation – The scholarship is open to first year to third year students. The said Program aims to enable qualified students to pursue their post-secondary education through the provision of financial assistance while at the same time providing them with practical training to develop their skills, competencies, attitudes, and work values to enhance their employability upon completion of their courses. The Program is good for five years.

Qualifications:

• at least high school graduate
• with grade average of at least 80% or it's equivalent
• aged between 18-26 years old
• of good moral character
• from marginalized families
• willing to take 15-18 units only per semester
• willing to work as student-trainee while studying

Requirements:

• photocopy of grades (previous semester) (for old student)
• photocopy of F-138 (for new student)
• letter of consent from parents
• recommendation letter from NTC professor vouching for student’s good moral character (old students)
• duly accomplished application form from Guidance Office
• photocopy of birth certificate
• photocopy of registration form (previous)
• no academic delinquencies such as incomplete, dropped, withdrawal (authorized/unauthorized), and failure marks in the previous semester

2. Family Discount – Discounts in the basic tuition fee for any brother or sister admitted to join a sibling enrolled at The National Teachers College with the following conditions:

• The discount is available to degree programs only
Discounts can be availed only for the 1st semester or 2nd semester excluding summer
• The sibling who has the higher tuition fee shall pay in full and will be the reference of the family discount. He/ she must be enrolled in full load or a minimum of 21 units.
• Second to third sibling will receive 20% discount in the basic tuition fee
