Course description:
The Business Economics program of the College is a business management variant that develops people to become proficient in the field of applied economics using economic theory and quantitative methods to analyze business enterprises and the factors that contribute to the variety of organizational structures and the relationships of enterprises with capital, labor and markets.
The program is concerned with economic issues and problems related to business organization, management, and strategy. Issues and problems include explanation of why firms emerge and exist, why firms expand horizontally, vertically and spatially, the role of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship, the significance of organizational structure, the relationship of firms with the employees, the providers of capital, the customers, the government, and the interactions between firms and the business environment.
It is designed to provide students with a strong foundation and understanding of the world of economics covering domestic and global economic conditions as well as the applicable methods and contemporary practical applications of business economic analysis. The program includes topics and courses in banking, investments, business processes, laws, international economics, managerial economics, and human resource economics.
A regular student can complete the program in eight consecutive semesters or four school years without having to attend summer classes. Academic instruction is blended with research and community extension activities plus 670 hours of internship that immerses students in actual work situations in the corporate planning, business research and business development divisions of a wide variety of companies in the manufacturing, agribusiness, and service industries.

Entry-level positions are Research Assistant/Analyst, and Junior Economist. Junior to middle management positions include Research Associate, Research Supervisor, Senior Economic Planner, Corporate Planning Supervisor, Chief Economist, Business Development Manager, Corporate Planning Manager and Chief Business Strategist.
