Course description:
The Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program is the main training program of NDCP. It is a one-year, full-time master’s degree course consisting of thirty-nine (39) units earned through various forms of classroom work, case studies, regional security and development studies and academic enhancement travels. The MNSA is open to military officers, government officials and private sector leaders. Students write a national security-oriented thesis. Civilian graduates are commissioned Lieutenant Colonels or Commanders in the Reserve Force. The curriculum focuses on the different dimensions of national security management namely: the socio-cultural, political-legal, economic, techno-scientific, environmental and military dimension.
Admission requirements:
FOR ALL APPLICANTS
• Nomination from the Head or Chief Executive Officer of the Department, Office, Agency, Organization or Association, as applicable, accompanied with a certificate of commitment that the nominating agency will fund the foreign academic travel of its nominee, since such an activity is a requirement for graduation. • Certified copies of all the official diploma and original copies of transcript of records attesting to the applicant’s having been granted a baccalaureate degree. A graduate degree or graduate credits may be an added bonus. • Birth or baptismal certificate. • Medical certificate from a government or military medical institution attesting to the applicant’s physical and mental fitness.
FOR AFP AND PNP PARTICIPANTS
• At least a Lieutenant Colonel or Superintendent. • An authenticated copy of the diploma from the defunct AFPCGSC or the present AFPJCSC or from an equivalent foreign command and staff college or its equivalent in the police service, to include an order of merit or certificate attesting that the candidate belongs to the upper 50% of his/her class. • A service record and brief description of current position/designation duly certified b an authorized officer. • Certified copies of the Officer Evaluation Report (OER) for the last two years. • Not more than 51 years of age upon admission.
FOR CIVIL GOVERNMENT PARTICIPANTS
• At least Division Chief (SG 24) . • At least 10 years of government service. • Documentation attesting to having completed an executive or supervisory training course. • A certified copy of performance evaluation for the last two rating periods, showing at least Very Satisfactory ratings. • Local clearances (RTC, NBI, Police, Mayor & Brgy) Must be eligible for government security clearance. • At least 35 but not more than 55 years of age upon admission.
FOR PRIVATE SECTOR
• Must be nominated by the Chairman or CEO of the corporation of a top company of relevance in the national security, development or defense field. • Documentation attesting to having completed an executive or supervisory training course • A certificate by the company’s personnel officer attesting to being endowed with executive and managerial ability. • Must hold a key position (at the policy and decision making level) in a vital industry, business organization, professional or civic organization, whose tasks relate to national security or development; or vested with a position in a prestigious educational institution. Previous government service in supervisory position will be a bonus. • Copies of SEC Registration and Latest Audited Financial Statement of the company. • Local clearances (RTC, NBI, Police, Mayor & Brgy) Must be eligible for government security clearance. • At least 35 but not more than 55 years of age upon admission.
FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS
• Must be nominated by the Defense Ministry/Department of country invited. • Must be in the grade of LTC/CDR or Col/Capt (Navy) • Must pass the Test on English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) An authenticated copy of the diploma from a foreign command and staff college or its equivalent, to include an order of merit or certificate attesting that the candidate belongs to the upper 50% of his/her class (for military) • A service record and brief description of current position/designation duly certified by an authorized officer • Not more than 51 years upon admission.

• Other than these requirements, the candidates shall undergo a series of written and oral examination, afterwhich those who qualify shall be further interviewed, screened and selected by the Board of Admissions.
