Scholarships at Laguna University:
In keeping with it's mission, Laguna University extends financial assistance to deserving students in order to give them the opportunity to continue their educational and training programs in any program of study. The Office of Student Affairs and Services is tasked with administering such assistance in the form of scholarships and financial aid.
1. Academic Scholarships for Valedictorians, Salutatorians
Valedictorians one (1) year free tuition fee
Salutatorians one (1) year 50% discount on tuition fee
2. External Scholarship Grants – provided by external organizations/partner companies

3. Government-initiated financial support/assistance for poor but deserving students
A. STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND for EDUCATION (SAFE) –for SCHOLARSHIP
SAFE scholarship is a 4 year scholarship program which was conceived by the Commission on Higher Education to provide assistance through scholarship and loan programs to financially needy but deserving college students in all Higher Education Institution nationwide.
The implementing guidelines governing the administration and operation of SAFE Scholarship was issued through CHED Memorandum Order No. 26, series of 2008
A Memorandum of Agreement between CHED, represented by it's Regional Director Dr. Isabel Inlayo, and LAGUNA UNIVERSITY, represented by it's President, Gov. Teresita Lazaro was made and entered on October of 2008.
The general objectives of the program are:
• Provide assistance through scholarship and loan programs to financially needy students
• Raise the number of grantees in CHED priority courses
• Raise and improve graduation rate at the tertiary level, thus, contributing to the stock of high-level manpower of the country
Requirements for the SAFE Scholarship
Must comply and meet the entry requirements of the participating HEI
Must have a general weighted average (GWA) of 80% in his fourth year high school report card An annual total family income of not more than Ph P 150, 000
Amount of SAFE Scholarship Grant
Qualified grantees are entitled to fifteen thousand pesos (PhP15, 000) per year or sixty thousand pesos (PhP 60,000) for a 4-year course program to defray expenses for tuition fees, books and course projects, thesis writing, board and lodging, graduation fees and other valid educational expenses.
B. STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND for EDUCATION (SAFE) –for LOAN
Selection of Grantees and documents required from the grantees
The applicant-grantee must submit, duly comply and meet the documentary requirements of the university Amount of SAFE LOAN Grant
Qualified loan grantees can borrow as much as Eight Thousand Pesos (PhP8,000) depending on individual circumstances and requirements

4. Barangay Study Grant Program
Study Grant Program for Barangay Officials and their Legitimate Dependents
Pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 337, otherwise known as the Local Government Code under Section 393, article 4- Benefits of Barangay Officials, Punong Barangay, the sangguniang barangay members, the barangay treasurer and the barangay secretary and their legitimate dependents are given free tuition as form of an aid provided, they meet the requirements of the University. He/She shall avail such educational benefits in a state college or university located in the province or city to which the barangay belongs.
5. Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Study Grant
Batas Pambansa Blg 337, otherwise known as the Local Government Code, under Section 434, Priviledges of Sangguniang Kabataan Officials. The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairmen and other officials during their incumbency shall be exempt from payment of tuition fee while enrolled in a public tertiary school, including college or state universities. The national government shall reimburse said college or university the amount of the tuition and matriculation fees; provided that, to qualify for the privilege, the said officials shall enroll in the state college or university within the nearest area of jurisdiction.
6. EskolaR ng Laguna
The EskolaR ng Laguna under the K-2 Kinse Kumpleto Serbisyo Publiko Kontra Kahirapan at Gutom is one of the pilot Programs of Gov. Jeorge “E.R.” Ejercito Estregan that caters to about 3,388 active scholars for Academic Year 2010-2011 all over the province with P5,000.00 financial assistance to every qualified scholar per semester.
7. Local Government Unit
All qualified students who meet the requirements set by the sponsoring Local Government Unit.
