Course description:
The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) program of FEU-East Asia College was reopened in 2001 to satisfy the needs for professional civil engineers who can contribute significantly in building the nation through infrastructure planning and development. The Civil Engineering Department who handles the program constantly updates the curriculum to meet the demands of the industry and to keep abreast with the changing technology.
The BSCE program of FEU-EAC can be finished in 4 years and 1 term which covers extensive professional courses and 480 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) to prepare the graduates in meeting the demands of the construction industry both locally and internationally. To prepare the CE graduates for professional engineering career including a leading role in infrastructure planning and development, they are provided with a strong foundation in the physical sciences and are constantly reminded to consider the economic, social and environmental significance of what he/she plans to build.
The facilities of the CE Department features state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and apparatus in Surveying, Hydraulics, Soil Mechanics and Materials Testing to validate the concepts and principles being taught in the lectures. Some of these noted equipment includes the Basic Hydrology Apparatus, the Seepage Apparatus, the Triaxial Compression Apparatus and the Consolidation Apparatus.
Career Opportunities:
Graduates of BSCE program are highly equipped to engage in works, which involved the consultation, design and supervision of the construction of highways, bridges, railroads, airports and hangars, port works; buildings, drainage, water supply and sewerage works; demolition of permanent structures; and tunnels.
Civil engineering graduates can also become researchers and academicians provided they take graduate or post-graduate studies.
