Scholarships at DMCCF Dipolog City

A. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Students who graduate as Valedictorian from recognized private & public high schools are awarded Full College Scholarship with free tuition and miscellaneous fees for two semesters.

2. Students who graduate as Salutatorian from recognized private and public high schools are awarded Semi – Full College Scholarship with free tuition fee and a 75% discount on miscellaneous fees for two semesters.

3. Students who graduate as First Honorable Mention from recognized private and public high schools are awarded Semi – Full College Scholarship with free tuition fee and a 50% discount on miscellaneous fees for two semesters. (Board Resolution # 13, series of 2008).

Provided that these students must present a Certificate of Recognition from the Department of Education or a certification coming from the Principal of the school where the student has graduated that he has been given such recognition.

4. Graduates from the Special Education Center (SpEd) specifically the Fast Learners shall automatically avail the Semi – Full scholarship with 50% tuition and miscellaneous fees for 1 school year.

5. Family Scholarship – a 100% discount on tuition fee is given to the third enrollee with the lowest tuition fee to members of the same family (parents / siblings only) enrolling at DMC.

B. ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Academic Scholars must apply in the Registrar’s Office to avail of the tuition fee discount. Jose P. Rizal Academic Scholars are no longer required to apply for tuition fee reduction.

In the case of Academic Scholars it is required that they must carry the normal load required for the semester of the course in which they are enrolled. To qualify as Jose P. Rizal Academic Scholars they are required to carry an academic load of at least eighteen (18) units.

In both cases it is a requisite that the student does not incur a grade below 2.0 in all subject areas. Second Coursers can also be given recognition provided that they must conform to the provisions set forth.

The names of graduating students who are academic awardees will be included in the recognition program and their certificates of recognition will be given to them during the ceremony. Undergraduate Academic Scholars and Jose P. Rizal Academic awardees will obtain their certificates of recognition from the Registrar’s Office.

C. SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP

The college will grant a one hundred percent (100%) discount on tuition fee only for a maximum of twenty – one (21) units load every semester and nine (9) units load for the Summer Term provided that the grantee must conform to the following conditions:

Maintain a grade of at least eighty percent (80%) in all the subjects enrolled during the previous semester.

If the grantee fails to meet the conditions stipulated above, the breakdown of benefits will be as follows:

1.1. 1subject failure = 90% tuition fee reduction
1.2. 2 subjects failed = 80% tuition fee reduction
1.3. 3 subjects failed = 70% tuition fee reduction
1.4. 4 subjects failed = no renewal of the contract

2. Show cooperation, diligence and efficiency in the assigned work.

3. Attend monthly meetings and all other meetings called by the head.

4. Must not be involved in any vices such as the use of illegal and prohibited drugs, engage himself as a change smoker, become habitual drunkard etc.

5. Maintain satisfactory behavior as defined in the Student’s Handbook and as much as possible set himself as a model for other students.

6. Keep himself from becoming an active member / officer of any school organization or participate in any school activities if such membership / position or participation will jeopardize his obligation as a varsity player.

D. DOROTEA CONCHA TUITION FEE SUBSIDY PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS

The Dorotea Concha Tuition Fee Subsidy Program will grant a ten percent (10%) discount on the tuition fee of students who are children of bona fide teachers of Philippine Public and Private Schools. Dorotea Concha was a public school teacher and the mother of DMC CF’s president, Atty. Alberto P. Concha.

The tuition fee subsidy can also be availed of by only one child of each public / private school teacher. This is also applicable to bona fide teachers of Philippine Public and Private Schools who enroll at DMC CF as second coursers.

To avail of this discount, the applicant must submit the following requirements: Certificate of Employment, Photocopies of PRC ID and latest payroll.

For private school teacher, the applicant must submit a certification of the principal or the Administrator of the private school.

E. RALPH T. CONCHA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Ralph T. Concha Memorial Scholarship is given to sons and daughters of DMC, DMC CFI as well as Concha Group of Companies regular employees according to the following schedules:

Sons and daughters of DMC CF employees with ten (10) years or more in service are given the privilege of free tuition fees.

Sons and daughters of Concha Group of Companies employees with ten (10) years or more in service are given the privilege of fifty percent (50%) reduction in tuition fees.

However, a student must maintain a GPA of 2.50 so that he / she can continue to avail of such scholarship.

Sons and daughters DMC / DMC College Foundation employees with five (5) years or more in service will enjoy a fifty percent (50%) and twenty – five percent (25%) discount for Concha Group of Companies on tuition fees but the student must maintain an average of at least 2.50.

Children of all other employees are entitled a twenty – five percent (25%) discount but must maintain a GPA of at least 2.50.

This scholarship may be availed of only for the regular duration of the course taken. No discount shall be given to overstaying scholars. The reduction is not applicable to miscellaneous, other fees, review or board fees.

This scholarship may be granted subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees and subject to such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon provided however that the same shall only be extended on an annual basis and only during the duration of the course.

F. ALBERTO P. CONCHA PNP – AFP TUITION FEE SUBSIDY

The Alberto P. Concha PNP-AFP Tuition Subsidy aids some members or children of members of the PNP-AFP to obtain a degree for the promotion of their profession and to give ordinary members a chance to rise in the ranks.

This subsidy is granted to the members of the PNP / PA whose children are not enrolled in the program shall be given a fifty percent (50%) reduction in the tuition fee provided that the applicant will stay at least four (4) semesters. Otherwise, the tuition fee reduction given to the applicant will be charged against him.

For the first child of PNP / PA member – a twenty percent (20%) reduction on the tuition fee will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters with the College otherwise, the reduction of tuition fee that has been enjoyed by the applicant will be charged against him ordering the applicant to pay the entire tuition fee or a 100% in tuition fee.

For the second child of the PNP / PA member - a thirty percent (30%) reduction on the tuition fee will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters with the College otherwise, the reduction of tuition fee that has been enjoyed by the applicant will be charged against him ordering the applicant to pay the entire tuition fee or a 100% in tuition fee.

For the third of PNP / PA member – a hundred percent (100%) in tuition will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters or the entire fee will be charged against him.

This scholarship is not only applicable to Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Other courses such as: Master in Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, BSBA Marketing Management, BS Radiologic Technology, Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science (formerly BS Medical Technology), Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication can avail of this scholarship.

This subsidy is granted to the members of the PNP / PA whose children are not enrolled in any of the programs as above mentioned shall be given a fifty percent (50%) reduction in the tuition fee provided that the applicant will stay at least four (4) semesters. Otherwise, the tuition fee reduction given to the applicant will be charged against him.

For the first child of PNP / PA member – a twenty percent (20%) reduction on the tuition fee will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters in the College. Otherwise, the reduction of tuition fee that has been enjoyed by the applicant will be charged against him ordering the applicant to pay the entire tuition fee.

For the second child of the PNP / PA member - a thirty percent (30%) reduction on the tuition fee will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters in the College. Otherwise, the reduction of tuition fee that has been enjoyed by the applicant will be charged against him ordering the applicant to pay the entire tuition fee.

For the third of PNP / PA member – a hundred percent (100%) in tuition will be given to the applicant but he must stay for at least eight (8) semesters or the entire fee will be charged against him

However, in the case of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy the student must maintain a General Percentage Average (GPA) of at least 2.0 or equivalent to eighty – five percent (85%).

Should the applicant desire to enroll in these course, the student can still avail of the tuition fee subsidy but on a based on a first – come, first – served basis as slot are limited. There are twenty (20) slots available for this scholarship.

Aside from the tuition fee subsidy as granted in this scheme, the enrolled scholar can avail of the academic scholarship provided that he must maintain a grade of 2.5 in all subjects enrolled. He / she may also apply of the external scholarships offered outside DMC but are DMC – assisted grants.

Finally, those who will graduate with honors will also be granted academic scholarship by DMC CF’s College of Law.

G. SCHOLARSHIP GRANTED BY THE COLLEGE OF LAW

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Students who graduate as Summa Cum Laude in the baccalaureate degree from recognized private and public colleges and universities are awarded Full College Scholarship with free tuition and miscellaneous fees for two semesters.

Students who graduate as Magna Cum Laude in the baccalaureate degree from recognized private and public colleges and universities are awarded Semi – Full College Scholarship with free tuition fee and a 75% discount on miscellaneous fees for two semesters.

Students who graduate as Cum Laude in the baccalaureate degree from recognized private and public colleges and universities are awarded Semi – Full College Scholarship with free tuition fee and a 50% discount on miscellaneous fees for two semesters.

EXTERNAL GRANTS

The College assists applicants to avail of the various government and private scholarship grants among which are:

1. PRIVATE EDUCATION STUDENT FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE (PESFA - CHED)

The PESFA was established by virtue of RA 6728 "An Act Providing Government Assistance to the Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) and Appropriating Funds Therefore." This is a study grant for qualified and deserving college freshmen who intend to enroll or is presently enrolled in priority courses in selected HEIs and who are not more than 30 years of age at the time of application for the program.

2. PGMA “STUDY NOW; PAY LATER” PROGRAM (CHED)

This is an educational program of the government designed to promote democratization of access to educational opportunities in the tertiary level to poor but deserving students through financial assistance in the form of an educational loan. It is a scheme providing loan or credit to poor but deserving students who are enrolled in priority courses in selected higher education institutions. This special fund is used to finance loans to cover matriculation and other school fees and expenses for books, subsistence, and board and lodging.

3. SHORT - TERM PROGRAMS AS OFFERED BY THE TECHNICAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY:

Short – term programs are as follows: Caregiver, Commercial Cooking, Housekeeping, Bartending, Front Office Training, Welding – GMAW, Welding – SMAW, Building – Wiring Installation, Computer Programming.

4. PHILIPPINE VETERANS SCHOLARSHIP GRANT

This is a scholarship grant offered to the dependents of the veterans of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office. The PVAO pays directly to the school.

5. UNITED STATES VETERANS ADMINSTRATION

This is a scholarship grant offered to the dependents of the veterans of the United States Armed Forces. The USVA pays directly to the school.

6. GSIS SCHOLARSHIP GRANT

The scholar can enjoy up to P20, 000 tuition and miscellaneous fees per semester, and monthly stipend of P2, 000. All active GSIS members of good standing are eligible to join. Winners who will be chosen via an electronic raffle may nominate ANYONE who is an incoming college freshman or enrolled college student. There are 200 slots available.

7. OWWA SKILLS FOR EMPLOYMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

-Granted to children of an OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration) member or to a brother or sister of an unmarried OWWA member.
