DORMS AT CVSU INDANG:

The CvSU runs a system of dormitories for students who opt to stay within the campus. The residence hall aim to promote and maintain an environment wherein the students may realize maximum educational and social advantages.

The Student Housing is responsible for the operation and management of dormitories and residence halls that cater to the housing need, comfort and safety of the students. The unit operates two dormitory buildings for men and two dormitory buildings for women. These dormitories can accommodate a capacity of 600 students.

SCHOLARSHIPS AT CVSU INDANG:

A. CvSU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

1. Entrance Scholarship

Entrance Scholarship is open to all valedictorians and salutatorians of secondary education with at least 30 high school graduates. Applicants are exempted from taking the entrance test (BOR No. 19, S.2005, dated April 5, 2005).

• Benefit/Privilege

Entitled to free tuition and other school fees

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Scholars must maintain a GPA of at least 1.75• (or it's equivalent) or better with no failing or incomplete grades;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

3. Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship (except for Private Scholarship and CvSU Scholarship Privilege);

4. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs; and

5. Conform to the student norms and conduct and other standing policies of the University.

If in case the scholar failed to maintain a GPA of 1.75 but has no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester, he/she may opt to apply in the financial assistance programs of the University, the Job Experience Program or Student Assistantship Program to continue his/her studies.

2. Academic Scholarship

Granted to those students who obtained a general point average (GPA) of 1.75• or better in the previous semester. It is classified as full scholarship if he/she obtained a GPA of 1.50 or better and partial scholarship if he/she obtained a GPA of 1.51-1.75.

• CvSU Grading System: 1.5 where "1" is the highest and "5" is failed

• Benefit/Privileges

Full academic scholars are given 100% free tuition and other school fees while 50% discount on tuition and other school fees are granted to partial academic scholars.

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Scholar must maintain a GPA of 1.50 or better for full and 1.51 - 1.75 for partial scholarship with no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

3. Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship;

4. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs;and

5. Conform to the student norms and conduct other standing policies of the University.

If in case the scholar obtained a GPA of 1.75 or better and he/she meets the requirements for the CvSU State Scholarship, the scholar may opt to apply to CvSU State Scholarship Program.

Also, if the scholar under this scholarship program failed to obtain a GPA of 1.75 but has no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester, he/she may opt to apply in the financial assistance programs of the University, the Job Experience Program or Student Assistantship Program to continue his/her studies.

3. CvSU State Scholarship

1. Granted to financially incapable but deserving students who excel in academic performance and are willing to work.

2. Passed the examination given by the Financial Assistance Services Unit (FASU) OSA

3. Scholars/Grantees are required to render at least 20 hours a month of work service to the unit/office they were assigned.

4. Scholarship is classified as full if he/she obtained a GPA of 1.50 or better and partial if he/she obtained a GPA of 1.51-1.75.

• Benefits/Privileges

Entitled to free tuition and other school fees and to receive monthly stipend of P700.00 (full) and P500.00 (partial) for at least 20-hour work services rendered and book allowance of P500.00 per semester.

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Scholar must maintain a GPA of 1.50 or better to 1.75 for full and partial scholarship respectively, with no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

3. Rendered at least 20 hours work service per month;

4. Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship;

5. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs; and

6. Conform to the student norms and conduct and other standing policies of the University.

If in case the scholar under this scholarship program failed to obtain a GPA of 1.75 but has no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester, he/she may opt to apply in the financial assistance programs of the University, the Job Experience Program or Student Assistantship Program to continue his/her studies.

4. Service Scholarship

Provide free tuition or tuition discounts to students who have rendered service to the University as members of varsity teams, socio-cultural organizations (CvSU Dance Troupe, CvSU Student Artiste' Society and CvSU Chorale Ensemble) or Editor-in-Chief of student publication, officers of the Central Student Government (CSG) and Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

• Benefit/Privileges

1. Members of the varsity teams, socio-cultural organizations (Cultural Dance Troupe, Student Artiste' and Chorale Ensemble), or Editor-in-Chief of Student Publication, President/Chairman of Central Student Government and Supt.Int. Of Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC) are given 100% free tuition.

2. Associate Editors of Student Publication and other CSG and ROTC officers are given 50% discount on their tuition.

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Recipient must meet the standards set by each organization where he/she belongs and must not have failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;
Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship;

3. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs; and

4. Conform to the student norms and conduct other standing policies of the University.

5. CvSU Scholarship Privilege (University Code 2005, Art.13 Sec. 13.1 and 13.2)

Awarded to employees of the University and their dependents provided that such employees have rendered at least one year of continuous service to the University.

• The guidelines to implement Rule XI Sec.24, ITEM I Paragraph 1 and Rule VIII of the University Code 2005 are as follows:

1. The recipients of the CvSU Scholarship Privilege are the employees of the University and their dependents.

2. Operational definition of dependents of the employee: the dependents of the employee include their unmarried children, regardless of age, wife and husband

3. The recipients shall enroll in any non-degree, degree, post baccalaureate, and graduate programs of the University.

• Benefits/Privileges

Faculty member and employees and their dependents shall have the privilege of enrolling in the University and avail exemption from the payment of tuition and other school fees if they have continuously served the University for at least one school year.

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

3. Conform to the student norms and conduct and other standing policies of the University;

4. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department; and

5. Recipient must not have incomplete grades in the previous semester. However, if the recipient got failing grade/s, he/she can still continue the grant provided that he/she pays the amount of tuition for the failed subject/s.

B. GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP

Given to students who qualified the qualifying scholarship criteria for the Philippine Veterans Affairs (PVA), United States Veterans Affairs (USVA), RA 7160, RA 7883, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Provincial Treasury, CHED Special Study Grant, DND-CHED-PASUC, AFPEBS-CvSU, and other similar recognized government scholarships honored by the University.

• Benefits/Privileges

1. Sangguniang Kabataan Officials, Barangay Officials and unmarried legal dependents of various government scholarships and recipients of DND-CHED-PASUC and AFPEBS-CvSU Scholarship Program are entitled to free 100% tuition.

2. Retention of Grant/Award

3. Recipient must have no failing or incomplete grades in the previous semester;

4. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

5. Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship;

6. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs; and

7. Conform to the student norms and conduct and other standing policies of the University.

D. PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIP

Granted to students who qualified the selection criteria of the sponsoring individuals and organizations.

• Benefits/Privileges

Entitled to P2,000.00 or more per semester depending upon the amount pledged by the donor.

• Retention of Grant/Award

1. Scholar/Recipient must maintain the GPA requirement as prescribed by the donor of the grant;

2. Carry the full semester load as prescribed by the scholar's program department;

3. Not have dropped any subject/s nor cancel enrollment for the period during which he/she enjoys the scholarship;

4. Study following the approved checklist of courses in the curricular programs; and

5. Conform to the student norms and conduct and other standing policies of the University

• Responsibilities of the scholars/recipients

1. Must report to the Head of the Financial Assistance Services, Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at least twice a semester (every beginning and end of the semester);

2. Must submit to OSA a copy of certification of grades and a copy of registration form every beginning of the semester.

• Application/Renewal Procedure for Scholarship

1. Applicant/scholar submits the following documents:

A. Accomplished scholarship application form

(for new student applicant)

B. Photocopy of report card (F-138) or transcript of records (F-137)

C. Checklist of course (from the College)

D. Photocopy of Certificate of Good Moral Character

E. 1 copy of 2x2 ID Picture

F. Short folder

G. Copy of combined or joint income tax return of parents for the preceding year or the Affidavit of non-filing of tax from BIR (for CvSU State Scholarship, Job Experience Program, and RA 7160 applicants only)

H. Certification (class valedictorian, salutatorian, 1st-3rd honorable mention indicating the number of graduates) from the HS principal or guidance counselor (for entrance scholarship applicants only)

I. Certification of incumbency of Barangay/SK officials form DILG (for RA 7160 applicants only)

J. Certification of employment/service record from the CvSU Human Resource Development Office (HRDO) (for CvSU Scholarship Privilege applicants only)

K. Certified true copy of birth certificate (for CvSU Scholarship Privilege and RA 7160 applicants)

L. Guarantor's letter (for Job Experience Program applicants only)

M. Parent's consent (for Job Experience Program applicants only)

N. Certificate of grades

O. Photocopy of pre-registration form

2. Applicant undergoes interview (for CvSU State Scholarship and Job Experience Program applicants only)

3. Applicant gets contract and accomplishes said contracts (for CvSU State Scholarship and Job Experience Program applicants only)

4. Applicant submits the accomplished contract

5. Applicant/Scholar gets certification of scholarship

6. Applicant/Scholar signs the logbook under the column "received by"

7. New and old scholars submit the certification of scholarship to the Cashier's office and Registrar's office for the reassessment of their fees.
