Why did I choose Biology:
I'm interested in Life Sciences.
About my college education:
I learned a lot! Even though my course is biology, It doesn't mean I only know about biology. I can take on Chemistry, Physics, Math, Statistics and some minor Engineering. It is Very wrong to think Biology is just memorization. that's a big BS!
In UP we are taught "how to think" not "what to think". Everything is difficult.
Every exam is a battlefield. You don't go to WAR with nothing. You got to have the BIG GUNS. And I mean you really have to study or you are surely to take the course again.
Discipline is very important in UP. You cant have too much fun. Know when it is time to study and when to hang out or play or get wasted.
My current job:
Quality Assurance Analyst/ Microbiologist.
I work in a Food Manufacturing Factory.
I just Make sure that the food that we sell to our consumer is safe from harmful bacteria and fungi and free from toxins and harmful chemicals.
Am I using what I learned in college:
I really used everything that I have studied.
How long did it take to find a job:
Around three months. I was unemployed for three months not because no one hired me. I wanted to rest first.
Do I recommend studying Biology:
There are a lot of career opportunities for science courses.
As a fresh graduate, you can expect to earn enough money to buy a Sala set, A TV set, a Refrigerator, a microwave oven, a 4 burner gas range and an iPhone 5S in a Year's Salary =) (assuming you don't eat, pay bills and walk from home to work and back.)
Advice to people who are thinking of studying this course:
Choose the right people to hang out with. Have a lot of patience and a 4 year supply of strong coffee.
